* DOES IT WORK BEHIND NAT?Yes. The client initiates a secure websockets connection to the Dataplicity service. This means that it works most places where there are firewalls, NAT or other network obstructions in place.
* HOW DATAPLICITY WORKSThe Dataplicity client uses a opportunistically-connected secure web connection to provide a communications channel between your device and Dataplicity, and your web browser attaches to the other end of that channel.
* DO I NEED TO ENABLE SSH?No. Dataplicity does not require SSH, telnet or any other network services to operate. The client is self-contained and does not open any network ports on the device.
* DOES IT OPEN A LOCAL PORT ON THE PI?No. Client connections are initiated from the device end and do not open any local ports.
* DO I NEED TO INSTALL SOMETHING ON THE PI?Yes, you need to install the Dataplicity agent on the Pi. You can view the source on GitHub.
* DOES DATAPLICITY AGENT RUN AS ROOT?No. When you log into the Dataplicity shell you still need to explicitly ask for super user rights to gain full control.

Great and minimalistic! This is what I like about this app. Straight forward and does what it says it does. There are no issues or hassle while connecting and no irritating unnecessary features. Maybe the next feature that can be introduced in a gui but other than this I would safely say this is exactly what you expected from a remote command line experience in order to connect to your pi from anywhere in the world. I wish there were annual offers for the paid version but so far so good. Thx!
Super great app. It's almost too easy to install and comes in superhandy. No need to fool around with ssh and port forwarding. Just have your rpi accessable to you from anywhere in the world within 3 minutes. Would absolutely recommend.
Super app, especially after i discovered wormhole which give me Octopribg GUI remotely. One issue it I cant upload from andriod. But i can if i use Dataplicy through my android browser. I can also zoom with browser but NOT with app. Still a wonderful app.
Great way to access your pi remotely without needing to configure your firewall for port forwards which leave it open to port scans etc. Awesome to have access to the system cli on the go!

Best way to connect to a pi remotely. Had tried many systems before settling on dataplicity and never looked back. Recommended to any one behind a firewall or not

Works great, setup almost fully automatic easy. Only complaint bottom end of window with keyboard open slightly covers command line in bottom.
The fact that this worked right away for my Pi behind China's great firewall is worth 5 stars alone. Finally I can remote without all sorts of VPN, dynDNS, and other bs.
Can't get anything better! Must have app for your pi. I love the wormhole feature, the fact that I don't have to get into ddns Dyn blah blah stuff to host a simple private website.
This is really great. The only obvious issue is the terminal interface. If only it were easier to see the whole terminal and scroll

When I try to execute anything other than a nano command it asks for my password and doesnt let me type it and if you shut your pi down you will have to regester a new device or the app will keep crashing.
Controlling GPIO on a raspberry pi was ok if you only want the two defined. Experienced programmer but unable to change. Used vnc and my own python program instead.
You can't paste and if commands are longer than the line the are not written into a new line. Otherwise good

easy to setup within minutes without going through all the dns, port forwarding, static IP, vpn BS.

You must provide option for custom commands as its difficult to type long commands . Recurring commands can be saved as custom commands to make it execute by a click

Pasting text from other applications into the terminal is not working (Xiaomi Mi A1, android 9).
really useful and awesome app, just wish there were more options in the settings, but im asuming there most likely are in the paid version. so far its helped me a lot. simple and straight forward interface, clear and easy to follow documentation, great for all levels of experience from beginners to advanced.
