The app uses a direct method of turning data on/off instead of changing the APN settings and appears to be more effective on some phones like my Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S).
Notes:
* Be aware that if you used another app that changes the APN to turn off data, you will need to use the same app to turn it back on.
* If you're currently connected via WiFi, it may detect the mobile data as disabled which means the app will always try to enable it.
* Seems to work for Honeycomb (emulator), but untested on a real device.

I want to thank the developer for their efforts. However, after years of using this app I longed for a visualization (icon does not change) when my data state changes. I now have switched (no pun intended) to "Data OnOff". It also works great, has a visual cue when data state changes and is free.
Great Battery Saver DataSwitch makes it easy to turn 3g on or off on my Samsung Prevail with Gingerbread Android. Just tap the icon to turn 3g on... Download my email and tap the icon to turn 3g off. It uses a tiny 8kb of memory. I am unable to find the menu to do custom settings, luckily the standard setting works perfectly. This app doubles battery life from 12 hours to 24 hours by keeping 3g OFF except when I'm using the Internet or Gmail.
doesn't seem to work on android 5.0. it says functions to turn mobile data on and off aren't available... but it does do one interesting (but completely useless, AFAICT) thing: if I'm connected to wifi, it makes my mobile data connection connect as well, so both are active at the same time.

The only drawback, you cannot look at the icon and tell if it is on or off. Once I left it on and drained all my data for the month. Uninstalled program and another program where the icon toggles on and off. I could have upgraded for .99 and gotten an icon that goggles, but I love free better.
One click on the shortcut is all it takes to toggle the data, making this very convenient to use. Moreover, it really does clean up after itself, resulting in no wasted resources, just as the description states. A must have if your system doesn't have this functionality built in.
It worked but I couldn't tell when the data was on or off by looking at the home screen. It would only pop up a short bubble message each time I switched it on or off.
Simple app, tap it and turns data on, tap it again and it's off. Tried 3 others that don't work at all, this one does the job.
how do i get it to work with android 5 i normally use this on all my phones etc but doesnt seem to work since im now on android 5.0.2
Best i have tried, would be good if you could change the icon into a colour for on, and a different colour for off keep up the good work.
This APN switch was the thing I am searching over the market. It's really could turn off the data n surely will not turn on again automatically.
Samsung vibrant 2.1 works great no known issues other that it has to be activated on power up instead of having auto feat.
Great for use add to your home screen swipe gesture if you are using nova. but After upgrading to lollipop it says functions required to turn data on and off is not supported on this device pleases help out here
App works perfectly! My phone last all day without data on the whole time and when I need data it switches right back on instantly almost every time...if it does get stuck just got to switch Airplane Mode on and off.
Turning off 4g on my Galaxy Nexus is such a pain. One click button that turns 4g on/off and doesn't take up resources makes this a really useful app.
Does not work at all been looking for a data on/off switch but after the latest update all of them seems to not work
And absolutely tiny. Save it to phone and less than a MB is taken, one quick switch does all
Very useful button in my android phone. First time was a little bit complicated to start it, but after doing exactly that the manual says: works great
Works perfect. I touch the icon it turns my data on. Touch it again turns it off. Stays off or on until I touch it again. Flawless
Great app for my galaxy mini as it doesnt hv any data on/off shortcut..it saves my time a lot but there is a problem whenver i switched off nd on my phone the internet is also gets on itself even if it was off before switching off.plz fix this
Nice, when it works, about 20% of the time. The rest it doesn't turn on the data. Works OK to turn it off. In the end is wasting more time, and defies the purpose. Please fix.
It works good and simple. It will be great if I don't have to turn off the wifi, or it can turn the wifi back on after turn off the 2G/3G.
LG Power - I have used app for four years and have loved it, now I am told that this device does not support the apps functions or something similar, please help, I miss it 😯

Doesn't work on my rooted evo with myns warm 2.2 but rated good because it use to work on my stock evo.
Keeps things from using my 3G. Saves battery life. No problems at all.
Ive been looking for a widget not an app and this is it. One touch data on one touch data off. One sugestion I think u should change the onscreen icon to the 4g symbol or something along those lines. Dont change anything else though lol
After hunting through numerous apps that claim to turn 3G on and off and finding that most don;t work or require a two step process, I found this app for my Droid Incredible and it works. It turns on the 3G network with one click and then turns it off when you click again. My only suggestion would be for it to chang color when turned on, but it is easy enough to look at the notification bar to see the current status. It is an app, not a widget, in case you install it and can't find it.
