DatPiff - Free Mixtapes

The UI is terrible. You can't easily press next or back in a mixtape or playlist, you can't easily skip to a certain part of a song, adding songs to playlists is unnecessarily difficult. You have to re-search for a mixtape if you've gone off the page with the mixtape briefly. There are some mixtapes (Frank Ocean ones) that just don't play at all for some reason... Just very unpleasant user experience.

its great apart from the moments some downloaded playlists wont play. if they cleared this issue id definitely give it 5 stars. Edit* dropped the rating down. Can't access my sign in or am even given an option to reset password. Just takes you to a link to download the app. Already have the app. Works fine for listening to music but can't access my saved playlists so this app gets used sparingly.

I've been listening to mixtapes on piff since 2010 and is a pretty cool app overall, the only issue I have with them and is a significant one, is that they will out of the blue delete your favorite Saved Playlist which is not ok. When spent time over months and years building a Playlist it's extremely frustrating to log on one day and realize it's been deleted. And this has happened a few times since adding the app in 2011.

Been a longtime user. Recent update has made this app unusable. Downloaded an album that didnt show up in my media player. Now every time I turn on my phone it says it's downloading the album all over again. Have yet to gain access to the supposedly downloaded content. This error caused a spike in my data usage. Now I have to be cautious of the data I use for the rest of the billing period.

New interface is horrible. Update the app and this new interface appeared. You can't see all the songs in the What's Hot section, and I can no longer download individual songs. I've been a long time user of datpiff but now I no longer use the app. My wife has an iPhone and she still has the old interface. Is this something only android users are dealing with?

I don't know what's going on with this app but for the last 2 years this app has gone completely trash, here's why the music takes too long to load or play, So half the time you're listening to silence or the song. There's no points of downloading the song if it's not gonna play correctly, Over the years this app has just had too many bugs and glitches. Uninstall!! No cap!!!

I love how there's so much music from a variety of different artists. I also enjoy downloading some mixtapes for free for when I'm offline. There's not a lot of apps that provide this option, so I always use this app wherever I go. However, the app can be a little slow sometimes along with all the ads you get. This can be annoying becuase they can play after every two songs and sometimes you can't skip them.

I like many others have been using this app for many years. I just recently installed it to a new phone so I could download some mixtapes for offline use. The problem is that once I begin downloading, it downloads multiple copies of the songs over and over and over again without stopping. When I try to stop the download, the app starts up again on its own. Also there should be in app settings for people to choose if they want to download over mobile network or wifi. Please fix the app!

I'm reading the comments and it seems I'm not the only person with problems. This update has made this app almost unusable. I've been a member since 2010 and have never had any problems until recently 1) some songs don't play. At first I thought it was my internet, but YouTube plays fine. 2) I can't download some mixtapes: there's mixtapes that have the download icon but nothing happens, or it says download but never does. 3) The search function often delivers the wrong results

This new layout/ update is garbage. Waaaay too confusing. What you guys had before was perfect. All tabs in the left hand corner and you can navigate from there. Now you cant even pull down and refresh newest mixtapes to see whats been uploaded within the last hour. Plus you also cant download mixtapes and have them automatically saved to your music player/ gallery. Before you could deselect songs you didnt like etc etc. And then download what you did. This new update is hot GARBAGE!!!

Doesn't play play music consistently. 1-2 songs will play then it will stay stuck without music playing. Some songs won't even let me tap on them. The interface for music playing is inaccurate with what song is playing. If I don't use the app for a few days I need to delete the app then re-download in order to get anything to work.

Trash app. They completely removed the ability to download songs to your music library. After you click download mixtape every song is instantly "downloaded" which is super suspicious considering files do take time to download. Go into recent files in my phones internal storage and absolutely nothing! What did i "download?" The app is basically a music library that you cant even manage and need wifi to use. After you create an account you cant delete it either. Do not download this TRASH app.

The app is glitchy. I literally had to come here and read the other reviews to find out that I'm going to have to uninstall and reinstall everytime it stops letting me tap on songs. I haven't been using it as much because of that. Im not sure why or when it started having issues with playing music but it's extremely annoying.

I've been attempting to log in and change my password and it keeps running me from the app to the internet and then back to the app, I've hit the forgot my password button 5 times now and it still has me going to the app or to the internet. I'm not able to reset it or update it at all and I don't want to long in from my apple account, I should be able to keep everything separate. This is not easy at all and its giving bad all the way around ugh.

What happened to notification bar feature? How come the app doesn't display in the notification panel when playing anymore? I use to be able to pull down the notification bar and pause, repeat or skip to the next song. That is no longer possible, now I have to open the app to to do those things. Why is this? Can you guys please update the app and bring the notification bar feature back?

Used to LOVE this app & would recommend it to anyone. But since the update a few months ago, it's not so great anymore. The whole set up is different and just aint as good as the past. Luckily I still have the older version on a old phone that I just use for media & such.. Only issue I have when using it on there is when I open the app it gives me an error, and says its not trusted so I have to allow it to "trust for session".. Go back to other version!

What the hell? Anyone have a fix or know how to get the previous version? You open this version and it's like you have to have a manual on how to navigate it. I would take the loading issues of the previous versions over this unattractive and over-involved user interface just isn't worth it. I'll grab tapes from online and just load em onto my phone, like it's 2005

I love it. Especially when it has a lot of lloyd banks music in the app. But I hate the fact that it randomly crashes and I have to go back to the app to replay my song. I also dislike the fact that the previous/forward button does nothing except pause the song for a second.

The app used to be amazing and then took a turn for looks over quality. Looks nice with the new update but runs slower than a turtle, can hardly play any songs, and now instead of being able to select 4 of the 70 songs on a txl mixtapes I have to download the entire thing. So overall you crapped the bed on this last update.

Can't download music to my phone anymore, it saves on the app and you have to stream it. Also it doesn't play what I want to hear half the time. I'll click a song or mixtape and it freezes until I pick something else from a different tape. So I never can hear what I want. Only what datpiff feels like playing.
