My biggest annoyance is that it's very hard to use while lying down (primarily on back, looking up. The real reason for buying the headset in the first place). I sincerely wish this issue were to be adressed (maybe a function to lock content screen with headset?). Other than that, it's fairly good, and works quite well.

Pixel 2XL can no longer use the headset controller so the app is no good too! Not sure exactly what changed at Google, but this has been a problem for a year or so. What a waste of money! The fact the app is free is no consolation. The headset and controller certainly were not free, so you'd think at least they might work! Very disappointed in Google and my whole ownership experience.

having a rift using daydream is pretty good quite a few games etc are on daydream. have the pixel 3 and irs really fast. only issue i see it looks as if the screen res was dropped alot almost like 320 dpi i. can easily see the 3 pixel colours to the point faces in videos are not recognisable. yet at times you dont notice them just the usual screen door effect and just slightly worse off than the rift. so to me the screen res changes. it would be good to have settings for screen.

I am one to have a lot of games for Daydream and had enjoyed it as my first interaction with VR before PCVR. It was to me one of the funnest times I had in VR from 2016-2018. It was full of life and great for the time. Now I just feel like playing the old games again from time to time and now it seems to not work on my Axon 7 ever since I replaced the battery. I was thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy S9 plus to play it on but from what I heard it don't work on that either. Please fix this

very poor selection of games, most of which are outdated (NFS) or akin to a 90's "activity room" in a pc game (rabids). headset is not worth the price for included content and any other apps worth investigating are $5-$20. it might gain a few more stars if the controller was released to the android system as an air-mouse or something. i cant help but get the feeling that this whole Cardboard/Daydream vr thing was someones pet project and they have lost all intrest in it.

Can only use it a few minutes before phone overheats and a warning window blocks the view saying to take the phone out of the headset. Now the phone vibrates every several seconds as I'd there's a notification but there's no notification in the menu, it's just annoying. Some panorama photos keep resetting their orientation while viewing so you have to keep turning around.

love the daydream vr experience. a few more apps would be nicer like google earth which is available on the oculus. there is one drawback. with the advantage of casting daydream to Chromecast it keeos dropping the connection so if your in a game you have to leave the game to recast. there should be an option in the center button of the controller to recast. me and my partner play daydream everyday and like to watch whats going on but this is really annoying and a fix is needed.

I am using a Samsung S9 and whenever I connect it with my VR or just when i open the daydream app the screen of my phone turns on a yellowish tint similar to that of bluefilter but it is not that. I tried to reset all my phone's settings bit still didnt work. I tried with another phone S9 and it happened the same thing. To get rid of it i always have to restart my phone. I assume many people out there are having the same issue and really needs an update.

This app does not appear to be compatible with to the Pixel 3. Using the headset and remote, I cannot use Netflix VR or YouTube VR after installing the apps. In Daydream, it will continuously loop to the last attempted open program but won't allow for login (NVR) or content navigation (YTVR). Cleared caches for apps, cleared full app data, did full phone restart - no change.

Previously worked fine with my Samsung Galaxy S9, but since I've updated the firmware to Samsung One UI 2.0 (based on Android 10) the app rejects my phone saying it's not compatible - even though I can see the scene rendering fine in the background behind the error message! So now my Daydream headset & controller are completely useless for no good reason and it's incredibly frustrating, particularly given the isolation we're all living in and the opportunities for escapism that VR offers! :( Surely it must be pretty simple to update this check so that I can use my S9 with Daydream again - please do so, thank you!

It's good for the people that are new to Virtual Reality, but not for people that have had past VR headsets or get confused when they try to move, and end up not moving which confuses them. Also, the controller movements can tend to be quite wonky at times, especially if your phone is an older one that has a so-so battery where if it gets to a certain percentage, everything will lag and the controller starts going everywhere

Photos app no longer shows up here. Now if I tap on a VR photo in the Photos app, it brings up a 2-eyed-goggles view and then I should put the phone physically into the Daydream viewer. Two problems with this: 1. I need to remove the phone out of the viewer EVERY time I want to view another photo because there is no longer a way to access my Google Cloud photos. 2. It seems that the Photos app on Daydream used to do some stabilization while we panned our heads so now there is horrible shaking.

All in a sudden, all video in daydream become silent. I get the background sounds in the Daydream home screen (i.e. the birds, the water, etc.) and I have sound in games. Just when playing any video, including Google Play Movies, Youtube VR, and local video, there is no sound. I tried clearing cache of Daydream and reinstalled Daydream, still does not work.

I don't like how it automatically pops up when I put on goggles. This seems to happen sometimes even though I turned it off in settings. I also don't like how pressing Daydream app button again doesn't take you back to the other app like it used to. I also feel this app should convert the remote click into a screen tap for any application that doesn't fully support the DD remote. I also don't like how Google is canning Daydream support on future phones.

Nice VR experience for just a phone and a headset. The recent update to Android 9.0 means that you have to disable notifications to get any sound, which wasn't clear and a bit of a shame that I had to find out through trial and error.

the bobovr z4 is a better headset in every way. the only reason to get a Daydream is because the Daydream app requires it. the pixel 3 and pixel 3 xl are both "Daydream ready" but the extra area of the screen is wasted on the xl. on top of all that, the Daydream headset precludes ar applications because it blocks the camera. the price of the daydream is simply a licence payment to use the app and forces the use of a under featured headset to have the use of the controller. very disappointed.

I bought last year a daydream VR for 100$ ! my LG V30 broke and I've replaced it with a Samsung S10+. and now... I'm surprised to see that my phone is not compatible with Daydream and I can't use the App ! Thanks to UPDATE This app so it can be installed with newer phones. People have spent their precious money for that device and cannot use it 6 months after the purchase ??!!! THIS IS A NONSENSE

Can't seem to watch video "full screen". Not sure which idiot thought that forcing users to view movies with cartoon trees around a movie screen would be immersive. Performance is also pretty bad. Videos constantly freezing, going black, etc. even on WiFi.

Pau. D. Dec 1, 2018

I'm not sure if it's the app or what, but i can't use the app because the right side has a black line in it. I've deleted and reinstalled it numerous times, and still i get that error. really bummed that i spent money on the daydream headset.

I mean, this app is nice but im going to slam it here because I find it irritating that they removed the ability to use Google play movies in VR. That was the only reason I used daydream. It was great on flights to be able to disappear into my own world and watch a movie. Now there's no way to do that offline. I haven't used daydream since.

Since they dropped the Daydream VR on phone, I can't give it more than three 🌟. Really frustrated, as an early adapter, I didn't think about it will be abandoned that quickly. Really don't know the future of standalone Daydream VR devices... By the way, good luck with Stadia, this platform seems have more problem than Daydream, hope I can still see it alive after three years.

Unbelievable that photos are not available in daydream anymore! It was a huge waste of time and money and effort to make 360 degree photos and videos and not be able to view them! I am so disappointed and will not be buying anything else from Google, ever!

I love VR, and Daydream does it well. I just wish there was an option to hide VR games so they don't take up the app drawer, never need to open then without Daydream. Also not sure how difficult this would be, but being able to use all your apps as a floating screen in VR would be really cool.

I can't even use this app. It seems insane to me that I need a controller to even use the app. Seeing my own 360 images and 360 videos on YouTube do not need a controller in any way. This is the most frustrating experience ever. You should be able to use it without a controller if you don't even need it.
