Miss the days when the app would work even when the network connection was "E", also the design and the UI is not longer intuitive (maybe it's just me). When setting up Via1, an option to add the time would be great.
Generally OK, it's good to have one app that covers all transport in Germany, better than having 3 apps for 3 different cities. ONE MAJOR PROBLEM: Recently, when I pay for a ticket, it will take my money but will not provide a ticket and then I risk getting fined. I've had to constantly email for refunds when this happens. Do not buy tickets with this app until it is fixed. DB - Please fix it. And no, my phone is not the problem.
They recently removed the direct bank transfer option that had been linked to my account for ages! Nice job, f you very much! Also, why does it forget my log in at random?? I don't use DB very often (because they're overpriced and underwhelming), and when I do, I find myself logged out and have to research my stupid password. This is especially great when you're not home!
I have been using this app exclusively for over 5 years now but it's become very unstable. For more than a month I can't even manage to book a ticket due to 'no valid certificate to establish a secure connection', even loading tickets bought online seems to have errors these days! Quite annoying!
Shared itinerary can't be opened with the app. It's only be seen as text. Thanks. Edit: There's also no language option to change it to German. **Still no update on the mentioned functionalities.
Decent for the basic tasks, not fully translated in English, difficult to navigate and some symbols are poorly explained. Overall the user experience is exactly what one expects from DB.
Update 11.03.22 - login function STILL BROKEN! Still cannot buy tickets via the app. Older versions of the app used to be a workaround to login but no longer...come on, get it together! App is useless with new account login procedure. You can login over and over again but it always takes you back to the login screen each time and you cannot buy a ticket. The only way to login and buy a ticket is through a browser, so then what is the point of an app???
Really? I spent an hour trying to get a round ticket. First of all I kept getting asked for the address of my closest train station. I tried all that were offered I got bus stations no train station in Kirchseeon. How can a train app not have my home train station??? I moved to my computer. Still no train station on web page. I finally booked for Eglharting. Lucky for me only a km from both stations. I missed the train I wanted the tickets did not show up in my app. No help from DB. Updated app
When it works, it works well and provides all expected functionality. But... The constant issues when purchasing a ticket is unbelievable. You purchase the ticket, you get charged and ticket is nowhere!?! Now I know it will be refunded but it is still super inconvenient to be able to rely on it. Already almost missed my trains because of it.
Used to work fairly well. For some reason I was logged out of my account and now every time I log in, I just get taken back to the login screen. Impossible to view or buy tickets or see my bahn bonus card. Payment also never worked for me inside the app, it would just direct me back to the page over and over without ever paying. So I had to buy tickets on PC and sync them with the app. Now I can't even do that anymore. May as well use google maps at that point, the functionality is the same...
I basicly like the app. Easy to use (I see a lot of improvement, don't stop now, you can still get perfect) It gives you a fast way to book Tickets right away, to plan ahead to get inexpensive Tickets (real bargains to easily find). Good overview of the different pricing. Best of all no paper ticket nedded anymore and you get push notification (if wanted) to keep you uptodate from the moment you purchased until your departure day and whilst your full Journey. The Service area recommended 👍
I kept being logged out from the app. Just this morning, the app AND the website denied my request to log in again, kept saying my password was wrong and request "failed". I cannot even reset my password. Same thing happened today on the website. Idk what the heck happened, please fix it.
This app is good to look for train and bus connections but when i try to login to book ticket it doesn't work. After entering my username and password, when i tap login it doesn't work and doesn't even show any error.
randomly, I can't login and buy (or view) tickets. Paypal doesn't work as payment method. Buying a simple 24 hrs ticket is also a total pain. Considering how vital this app is, it's really really bad
Checkout is working again. One can not purchase multiple tickets at once though. Doesn't make sense from user perspective. Just add a "quantity"field. At least in our group noone, neither Android or iOS seemed to find an option to checkout multiple tickets at once.
Absolute garbage and unusable. Worst app or experience ever, captcha is useless, cannot authenticate when giving correct inputs, won't let me login with old login either.
I usually liked the app but it always kicks me out and asks to enter my login data again and then I enter it and they ask me again to enter so lately I've not been able to book via the application anymore bc it just doesn't let me log in. Had to book on my laptop super annoying
Convenient app for planning trips on DB and other train operators in Europe. The other cool feature is the link to local transit services. So you can book tickets for bus,trams,u & s bahn when visiting a new town.
Can purchase cross border tickets, although it is unreliable. I can usually buy the ticket that I want, otherwise it has an error and I can only buy part of my journey. Or the error occurs during payment and it takes money and does not give the ticket (although usually refunded at random point in the future). Despite knowing all my passenger details it makes me type in my age every single time, resulting in much more intention with phone than necessary until I have my ticket.
Unfortunately the terrible decision was made to require a community account in order to be able to use the app. Worst of all the login tends to fail and then you are out of luck.... Oh well, back to the ticket counter it is...
It took over 20 mins to register and is all in German which I don't speak (yes I know a German app but most have language options) no option to switch languages plus need to buy each ticket separately so can't book for 2 passengers unless buy 2 separate tickets
Really poor app. Hard to impossible to find the right ticket, and know from experience that there are tickets one cannot buy at all on here. Nothing could be worse for a train ticket app.
Integration with payment service works horribly unstable. You are redirected to a payment service, then you pay, money charged, "You are logged out of the system". No tickets.
When you search multiple times with same start and destination (e.g. when comparing ticket prices on different dates), the ticket price will increase in the app
I just found out, how I can finally log in ( always had an error ) Reason: Log in is being managed by the browser set as "default" in the phone settings. My browser didn't work here (free adblocker Browser) an error message in the app that tells people to use a different default browser could save some time
Complicated. Not easy to understand. Make something like ; ticket for the next 6 hours , 5 hours .. they have thete 1a city köln 1b city köln chose this chose that. And no explanations attached. Horrible user experience 😪
The App is useful but I'm not getting the ticket in-App when I buy it with bank transfer. This is risky as for in-city travel I'm not also getting the confirmation e-mail. And this needs to be fixed ASAP. If the controller comes, it will be hard to make them understand only by looking at the bank confirmation.
Some parts work while others are quite elaborate and complicated. If the trip is changed by DB (cancellation) it is NOT updated. Still need to check the emails, which somewhat defeats the objective...
Simple app. Works for me without any problems. Need any updates regarding train changes in English as well. Last trip the train was changed but was only announced on the station in German. The seat reservations were not applicable. It took me long time to search for the cabin as per my ticket and later a German person told me the situation and told we can sit anywhere. The problem was I had booked a family cabin for me my wife and infant. Very difficult to find seats together due to this change
