The dbell doorbell has features that no other video doorbell has (such as the option of wired ethernet, local network storage, and no subscription to use all the features. The app falls down with extremely excessive power consumption. Having the app running in the background (required) will double the power consumption on most phones. The 2nd big issue is the motion detection is way too sensitive (even on the lowest setting) if you have anything that will slightly move (like a bush) in view.
Garbage app. Notifications are a mess. Unless I have "show camera" enabled I never receive a notification. However, if I have ring/vibration enabled it will do those with no way to stop them. You need to force close the app. If viewing the stream in portrait it will stretch or drastically crop the video. The onboarding process is terrible. Even after I hit the option for a hard wired connection it prompts for wifi and gets stuck. There's plenty more but I can't fit it all here. Very disappointed
This upgrade works and has a Amazon Fire TV app! I gave a 1 star review for DBell HD Live because it didn't work with Android 9 Pie. This is the solution and not only does it work on my phone, now i can install the DBell app from the Amazon Fire stick app store and able to see the front of the house, day or night, from my living room TV! Thanks for DBell support telling me to remove the old app and simply search for "dbell" in the Google appstore.
App works well. Had a little problem due to my lack of experience. Called dbell tech support and was up and running in minutes. Thanks dbell! Also help desk is open from 9am to 9pm 7 days a week.
Terrible app. Constantly going offline, even with 99% wifi signal, always runs in background and KILLS phone battery. Anyone know of another app that actually works with this?
I wanted to use this app to connect to my new dbell camera OFFLINE on LAN only. This app requires a login which I assume connects to the companies servers before you can even use the app. My device as well as my dbell are behind a firewall with no internet connection. So this does not work.
Very poor app, many bugs, over promises and under delivers. Support have no idea how to deal with customers. Avoid dbell app and products. Mine is going back.
Nice features but not worth the battery drain. Switching back to the old app. In 5 hours my Note 8 went from 100% to 6%!
congrats for the new app. it has so much improved. could you please tell me how i get colored images and real time videos.thx
I've had a very good experience with Dbell. I've been with them since the start up The customer service has been Great. Bob Turk
amazing upgrade to the previous app. modern design and upgraded features. love it
nice app, works great. Good and helpful knowledge base so user can get instant help good job dbell
The app is awful and vague and the doorbell is even worse. Stay away.
After login app crashes and restarts on Pixel 3, unable to use app.
Had 2, neither d bell would stay connected, used 2.4 network as instructed
App drains battery, a lot. The notifications are very disruptive. The alerts are impossible to configure to each device seperately. The app has forced portrait in the main page, but camera needs to be viewed in landscape. The events do not show up if your phone is offline, meaning that if you turn off the app, then you won't ever find out if someone was at the door. Its a disappointing experience, and it needs many improvements to be usable as a doorbel, it's only usable as a camera manually. F- .... RESPONSE: Yes, I'm a real user. I have 2 Dbells. Notifications for all the alerts get sent to each of the devices, there is no option to set motion and sound detection to just one device, all devices react to this the same. The main page is Portrait, there is no possible way to use in in landscape, this is both on Android, iPhone and iPad. The camera itself can be viewed in portrait, which is great, but the landscape is not fully supported. I've had the desire to learn, but nothing from the given options work for me or other users, properly. It works as a doorbell notification for iPhone and iPad, though sometimes it crashed upon opening. But for Android there's massive battery drain.
