Not reliable for bus. Too many times the clock on the app does not sync with Metrobus in real time and will say your bus is closer or farther away than it actually is. The pop up ads are not accessibility needs- friendly: A blind user would not be able to hear the bus announcements on this app because the ads play over the bus arrival time announcements. Sometimes a listed bus will disappear from the app altogether. This app is only reliably accurate for Metro rail.
This app hasn't worked like it originally did in over a year; none of the favorites give you a time for buses, you have to search the routes, find your bus, what direction you're going, your stop number, and then you get a time; now today, you get nothing, no matter how you search.....
Not very reliable. Train says 0 minutes, doesn't come, then is just gone on the app. Too many ads. Many glitches with some stops simply not showing any busses. An uncalled for change in bus stop numbers, and how they work. I ride the metro every single day, for school and work, if this app isn't reliable with correct times or with knowing if a bus is actually coming, then I can't do what I need to do.
Nice job not updating bus routes, leaving users with old routes in their favorites looking at a blank or ad-filled screen. I found a workaround (you have to re-add the route and delete the older one, they'll have different stop numbers) but there's no warning about it.
Right now every time I put in a destination it disappears... So i can't do anything with the trip planner. It's definitely an app issue because was fine on the laptop. But makes this app useless for on the go. Was working great before.
Last 2 updates has damaged the app. No longer displays times for the bus. I would say is no longer usable for bus times.
App is pretty good, but doesn't cover all the available bus routes. It only covers buses for D.C. and Virginia, bit it doesn't cover the Maryland bus routes, particularly those that run in the areas just outside of D.C. Future inclusion of those routes would make this an all around great app. Plus, the increase in adds is very irritating.
Pointless, useless app. When using the trip planner feature it tells you to type in addresses qnd it seqrches then for you but when you select them they go away so doesn't work
EDIT: Developer seems to have fixed the problem with the ads. Thank you. With this fix, the app is 100% worth paying for and 5 stars. I use it 2-4 times per day and it is incredibly reliable. ORIGINAL: App is very good but I paid for the upgrade to no ads 7 months ago and all of a sudden last week huge ugly ads started showing up. I think the upgrade is very worth it UNLESS THE ADS COME BACK FOR NO REASON. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
I liked it at first but the apps take up so much of the screen it's no longer functional at all. I understand the need for apps and it woyld be fine if it was just the smaller bar ay the bittom of the screen, but especially when yu try yo look at a bus stop, the ad takes up 80%of the screen with no way to close it.
Worked fine, albeit quirky. Then ceased accepting destinations (making it useless.) I'm going to delete, re-boot and re-load.
App works well, have been using it for years. Occasionally the bus won't have the GPS on so there may look to be a gap that isn't there. Regardless a good app. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the ads. I would be willing to pay to get rid of them but there doesn't seem to be such an option which is aggravating. The ads are long, loud and constant.
I just downloaded the app and it is not letting me make a trip planner. I have closed it out and restarted it with no luck.
I love the app and find it highly reliable, but I'M ANGRY with the developers and METRO itself for not only allowing more ads, but intrusive ads, that occasionally COVER THE ENTIRE SCREEN! Someone wrote that Metro has a paid app, is that true? I don't see one, but if it exists I will buy it. I don't anticipate Metro decreasing the number of ads - they need the revenue.
Huge ad separating arrival times. Screw that.
1) Advertisements 2) For some ridiculous reason, each of the train lines must list all of their stations out of order -- out of any order for that matter -- even though each station is shown along a connect-the-dots line of the train line's color, with evenly spaced train graphics and info about where the next train is in this imaginary, out-of-any-order system. 3) for several bus routes I tried to look up stops and times on, all of the information I could get of any kind was a huge ad. Go Metro
When this works, it is useful and convenient. However, without any explanation it will sometimes just fail to show busses. Which means you end up just sort of guessing day by day as to whether or not the regularly scheduled busses will be there.
This app doesn't work at all! A piece of trash!
Station information no longer displays... You can see the line but nothing else. I've reinstalled and it's just not working. Just a blank screen under the metro station name
It used to be great, my go-to app for bus and subway but now they have it blocked over by ads that aren't closeable so it the ad-supported version is currently unusable.
We were tourists for a week. Metro map and schedule was nice to have but walking directions were either non existant or hard to find. And user beware: mount vernon manor (which pops up as you type) is not mount vernon estate which you need to type in all the way
Unable to select a destination. Useless for planning a trip.
Useless. Couldn't do a simple trip planner.
As a tourist in the city for a long weekend, this app made getting around much easier than I expected. I didn't have ANY trouble with ads getting in the way of using the app. The trip planner is easy to use and lays your steps out clearly. Cost of trips was way less than renting a car or using Uber.
