Super easy to download, and way easier now to deposit checks and see balance with a touch of my finger!
User friendly. Nice to be able to enter a 4-digit passcode to refresh the screen when using the app rather than having to go through entering a user id and password when the screen has timed out. Super simple to make payments and conduct transfers. I love the way I have overdraft protection when e-paying bills from checking as funds are transferred from savings to checking automatically in the event of a negative checking balance.
The old app was a great example of what a banking app should be - lightweight, reliable, and simple. It had nearly everything you wanted and nothing you didn't. This new one is a great example of fixing something that wasn't broken. It's full of buttons and animations and backgrounds and objects with transparency. Silly. From one software engineer to another, please stop wasting resources unnecessarily on mobile development effort that just isn't needed.
Okay app. It gets the job done. As I suggested with the last update it would be great if they could put due dates on the loan cards so you can see that right on the dashboard. It used to have better functionality a couple updates ago. People have a lot going on and seeing that information could help them to manage their finances. Otherwise not too bad.
Update: I love that I'm able to pay bills and transfer money from different accounts on my phone. The app now has titles in addition to reference numbers. I upgraded rating to 5 stars. Recent updates took some getting used to but not difficult. I do not like that when making a mobile check deposit the account choices only list the reference number and not the title. Everything else works well.
The UI is atrocious compared to the previous app. Instead of being able to get all of my account information on the initial screen I have to swipe repeatedly. Payment due dates: more swiping and tapping. It now takes several minutes to do what I used to do in seconds. I have begun transferring business to another bank to avoid using this garbage app.
This new app is terrible. Doesn't make sense. Should be able to see all accounts at once on the dashboard instead of scrolling through them. Also, it would be nice to know when bill are coming out of the account not just when they are going to arrive. It should be displayed at all times instead of the payment date or both should be displayed. This issue caused me to have a bounced check and get charged. The old app was fine, there was no reason to update it.
Receiving "unable to update" error message frequently. Missing being able to view credit card transactions in the app! Do not like having to go to another screen and clicking multiple times to view the credit card transactions. Logically, it would be located under transactions, not under manage cards.
The old app was great but this new app has me so frustrated that I may switch credit unions all together. It takes forever to load, sometimes it says it's not responding and my account balance is often incorrect. With the old app, after a purchase, even if it wasn't taken out of my account yet it would still reflect in my available balance and with this app it will only do that about 35% of the time. I have some purchases that won't be reflected in my bank account until as far as a week later.
Works great I never have any problems and the check deposit is awesome
Ever since the "update" this year the app is annoying to use, you can't see the credit card balance, and the balance shown for everything is only the transactions that have gone through. It no longer tells you the available and ledger balance which is very frustrating.
Credit Card portion of the app could be greatly improved. Transactions don't show up for days and when you transfer money to the Credit Card to pay it off, that takes days to show up, as well, when the Checking/Savings Accounts show up instantly. The Credit Card portion also doesn't show the exact amount you owe for that month. It shows the minimum owed ($25). Please update! As far as DCECU goes, staff are rude, sarcastic, and inattentive. I do NOT recommend banking with DCECU!!!
Payment due date for my credit loan was innaccuratley updated from "no payment due" to "payment due" 2 days before the payment was due. Almost screwed me with a late fee. Do not trust this app. This app was perfect before they changed all of it after that big update earlier this year. Why change it from something so simple to a complicated mess thats no longer accurate?
Terrible new app. You took a sleek simple design and screwed it all up. Mobile check deposit is horrid now, no more quick account on login screen, the dashboard is cluttered and difficult to look at. Trying to modernize? K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid. If I had a different app to use your online services, I would use it. Your desktop site isn't much better..
CONS: Mobile deposit doesn't take clear pictures, app sometimes lags in syncing, new app is more complicated than it needs to be with some lost functionality, some changes don't confer clear benefit to long time customers who were satisfied with previous app, need option to adjust app to darker colors PROS: Can organize accounts and dashboard, basic account details available in app, enhanced security with quick lockout and pin entry, peaceful lakeside picture in background
Easy to use and very convenient
Useful and has a lot of features but make sure it's working fully before releasing. Has a lot of bugs, system is down all the time. It has been out for a few months now and there are still things don't work including credit card transactions.
Don't 'fix' what isn't broken. Old app was great like majority of other comments say. Too many "bells and whistles", and it's just a screen full of garbage that's a struggle to navigate. Not user friendly.
GUI is number cluttered and I do understand it's a huge upgrade from the last roll out. This definitely does not to appear to have made it to user viewing besides probably internal testing of subject experts. Functionality of mobile deposit is more difficult that last app. Also, why do you still have your old app the play store? Should have been able to package and overwrite old. Instead I have to take 10 min to do all new security checks. I presume many enhancements to come...
Definitely a step down from previous app. Much harder to navigate and can't look at credit card transactions without loading a separate hard to read on phone webpage (which is about 70% of what I used the old app for).
Terrible application. This is change for change sake. There is not any additional functionality provided, just a confusing and cumbersome rearrangement of options. I question whether any users were consulted. 2/14/20 DCECU CC transactions still are not listed in the app. Just terrible execution of a new app.
so much worse than the old app the mortgage account transactions do not show the principal and interest parts the configurability is superfluous I don't want to spend time messing with configuration overall a really bad move from the old app. Is not getting better
Worst banking app, desktop version is even worse, somehow. All I want is a PDF download of my credit card statement so I can see my interest rate. Why isn't it just incorporated into the portion of the app that shows my balance? One of the worst, least user-friendly and horribly programmed apps I have ever used.
Definitely not an improvement. Lately it's been taking forever to sync. More confusing than it use to be, etc. Get it done right and fix the problems, maybe it can be better.
Terrible set up, especially since the old app was great. Can't even see account balances on credit cards, due dates are difficult to find, lots of dumb layout flaws, whoever designed this must've been a budget developer
The new app is overly complicated, I don't want to see my account numbers. I want the names I have assigned to them. Also not a fan of a 4 digit PIN, I actually preferred a full password.
Very annoying to use. Flipping between this app and a calculator requires you to log back in every time. The old app was way more user friendly. Info is now all over the place but not where you need it.
Significantly worse app compared to the prior. Super cluttered and unintuitive. So many extra steps just to see my balances. I wish I could still use the old app but we are forced to use this.
Everything works fine except for online check deposits, it refuses to read the checks no matter what I do, and then makes up an excuse as to why it isn't working even though I will have already met the criteria for solving said issue. It's infuriating and as far as I can tell there is no one anywhere is will actually help with these issues.
Once you get signed in it works well, when it isn't making you sign back in to conduct the next task. But signing is takes 5 minutes with all the verification steps it has.
