DDReader

DDReader is a free application for reading accessible digital books in DAISY 3.0 format. It is compatible with text-only books, audio only with navigation and full text with audio. The books can be read by synthesized voice, pre-recorded narration or text-only onscreen.
The interface has been designed to meet the needs of the visually impaired with full accessibility, without compromising design for other users. In this version, the app offers two alternative interfaces:
- Accessible, High-contrast.
- Visual, simple and elegant design. Both can be used with or without active TalkBack. A layer with six areas of touch allows access to all application commands and navigation of sentences, chapters, and items in the library, index and other lists.

The app features all the functions of its Windows version. It is offered in three languages: Portuguese, Spanish and English. A complete tutorial facilitates the understanding and use of their resources.

Key Features: 1 Tutorial built into the application. 2 Access to all commands using only the six touch areas. 3 Eco command in synthesized speech. 4 Bookmarks and user Annotations. 5 Search for words and expressions. 6 History of read books (My Library). 7 Spelling words of the text. 8 Adjustable Zoom for greater accessibility. 9 Global and Book Preferences. 10 Downloading books from online libraries (soon). 11 Browsing for up to six levels of index. 12 Optional reading of footnotes and page numbers.

You can download public domain books in DAISY format from the Windows version distribution and support site: www.daisylatino.org/ddreader.
