You need to manually enable storage permissions in phone settings in order to make this app play music from internal storage.
Useless, how can I play music with something that doesn't load/add any song?
Apparently this app is deprecated. I don't know why it's still here. Search for DDB2 which is the new version that actually functions.
I use the old version of the player, I hate the UI of the new version. Today, old version throws a pop-up directing me to the new app. I click "no", and all my playlists are gone. Time to find a new player, cannot trust the author to not have likewise sabotaged the new version.
There are LOUD CLICKS when starting, pausing and seeking. (But I'm 100% sure that the music files themselves don't contain any discontinuities, so they should sound OK, and they do sound OK when played on a computer) Please fix that!! And otherwise it's fine.
This was the subjectively absolutely best music player for many years, then the developer dropped this project for a worse player, which has now been inactive for >3 years. This player can not access any files since Android's Storage Framework app-massacre (10).
Please improve the widget, make it flat and usable on the lock screen. Many music widget can do this easily, but DeaDBeeF widget is not.
I use the Linux desktop version of deadbeef and it works great. But the Android version sometimes determines a song duration wrongly (about half the real duration). This makes the app unusable.
Either navigation is stupid or does not allow to select folder with music. Uninstalled.
Like others have stated, the app couldn't find my music files. Maybe it's a Nougat issue. I'll try it again if/when this is corrected.
Unable to select folder with music. I'm using Linux version on desktop, it's great, but android version..
A stupid app. Wasted my time. Uninstalling
Good app. Missing certain important functions like, search music in the phone.
Didnt read sd card
It's a good app but it needs updating
Unable to select music folder. Nougat issue?
great top of the guess
isn't this to play your music? can't even find my music with this app. made a music list with the app, but that too shows no music
This app won't see the music files on my phone (or even the directory structure). I'm running Android 8.0 on a Pixel XL
Android 4.4, since the most recent deadbeef update it loads and starts playing everytime I reboot my phone. Can't figure why. :-/ This app also exposes the known problem with Bluetooth AVRCP, with more than one media player installed it's a crapshoot which one will respond, or whether a race condition will prevent any from working.
Needs ability to pause on lockscreen and notifications, don't like having to open player when need to pause quickly. Also needs smb and upnp. Otherwise the best. 4 stars only because i cannot queue songs. If more features were added, could easily surpass other players.
I had one large FLAC file (an entire album) with no way to jump to certain songs, but then I noticed I also had .cue files, so I needed a player that supported .cue. This player does, it's exactly what I needed. 5 stars. (If anyone needs to know how to get to your sd card, just press the folder button in the bottom right, then press the folder at top with the 2 dots to go to the previous directories, until you see "sdcard". The exact path, for me, was /storage/sdcard1)
Fix this and I'll buy the pro key and 5 star the app: When a call comes in, the player does not mute or pause. I have to do it manually when I get a call. Other than that, excellent simple player that just works.
For some reason this app can't read album art from files, the notification has no controls on it, just opens the player and the settings menu is extremely limited in options. To make matters worse this app hasn't been updated in almost 10 months. Too bad because it's the only player that is smart enough to reduce it's process down to 10% when the app is closed, unlike others that keep running at 100% forever.
Love this app on Linux, but it's NOT ready for Android. It won't drill down into my subfolders. Just sits there. On both my main and SD memory.
