At one point there was an update which broke the switch. I contacted support and they pretty quickly sent me a replacement, so the support is good, but the software isn't great. The update was supposed to improve the syncing/connecting time, but this is barely any better. I don't think I will buy/recommend this bloototh switch. I think WIFI, and ITTT are both major missing features of this device.
It's been a month since I installed my 2 switches and app, and this app still works great for me. Didn't have any issues with the previous version nor this new version. In fact, the app connects faster to my two switches with this new version. Only took a minute to figure out how to set up the schedules. The lights have been turning on and off on their scheduled times, which is perfect because that's why I bought these switches. I'm using a Samsung Note 8.
I have had ongoing issues with various versions of this app. Once I found one that worked, I stopped updating. Then I got a new phone (Moto Z2 Play running Oreo) and had to download the current version. I now get a "Scan Failed" error whenever I try to connect. Fortunately, I still have my old phone so I can get the switch program working again after power outages and Daylight savings time. If not, I would have had to uninstall the switch.
After 10/18 update switch no longer connects. Called the # in the app description, and was sent a new switch with newer firmware at no cost. The new one connects and works good, but occasionally the settings don't stick. Update 12/19/18 the switch will not connect again. This is just a bad product. I'm tired of wasting my time trying to keep this stupid thing working.
Sooo... Installed the switch no problem. Went to setup the switch with the app and got a bit frustrated. Tried following the instructions as they popped up in the app however I quickly realized that wasn't working (kept asking for a password). Went past all those instructions and got into the app where there was a pair icon and followed those instructions, which worked flawlessly. Setup my timer for sunrise and sunset with no issues. App is a bit clunky but everything works. So far so good.
Why not make the app updates backward compatible with your "older" products? The Bluetooth switch I bought only about 2 years ago is no longer compatible with the app update. When I spoke with my developer friends they tell me that it is very easy to do so. Please put that little extra effort in your next update even if the app is a bit larger in size--phones these days can handle it. Thanks.
Galaxy S9 and now Leviton app won't connect! I've been hoping for an update fix, but someone is sleeping on that project. I am an electrician and use there product all the time, but this bluetooth connect designed to connect to smartphone apps is garbage, especially for the price. Light on porch turns on at 1 PM in the afternoon and can't change it! Don't waste your time on product or software, neither seems to work as promised!
The iOS version of this app works fine, connects to the device(s) without issue... The same cannot be said if the Android app. It used to work but now will not link to the dimmers, scan doesn't even find them when they are in pairing mode. Last worked in August from my Samsung Galaxy S7, had not worked at all in my Note9.
It stopped working in October of 2018. Cant adjust schedules on my lights!!! Tried uninstalling and reinstalling....no luck. UPDATE....12-29-18 I called and spoke to tech support about a week and s half ago. it seemed the easiest solution was to send me three new switches. I was told they would have the latest "firmware". I just received them and installed. same situation....WILL NOT PAIR. I'm terribly frustrated. Lights go on when they want. If I'm not around to turn off.....just a waste.
Worked okay for 2 years. Now it won't connect. Tried both the Galaxy S8 and a Samsung tablet. One gets error 13 and the other does not find the device. Clearly the device has difficulty with Android. Added to the fact that the clock resets to 0 every time there is a power lapse, I think this was a poor design.
Adding my voice to the choir here. I also have a Leviton Bluetooth switch that this app is unable to connect to. I know that the bluetooth functionality of the switch is working well because i have two iPhones (6s & 5s) that can both pair with the switch and operate it without any issues. When is the Android app going to be fixed?
The need to turn bluetooth off and back on, on my phone, is very annoying. The previous version of the app was much better. The interface was not so huge. It takes an unacceptably long time to connect to the switches. Was/is there no better distance for BT than 30'?
I downloaded Bluetooth app 1.4.20v. Could never get it to connect. I called Leviton support, they had deemed the switch had a problem and to return it. I returned the switch and purchased a new one and it will not connect either. I tried 4 different Android devices with the required Bluetooth and Android system and still was unable to ever get it to connect. I can connect to anything I own that is Bluetooth related except this switch. Story Moral; check how much dust is on the box before purchase
Older version sort of worked. Allowed you to review schedule but failed to reset times after power outage. New version fails to even connect with the DDL06-BT devices (all 3!). Bluetooth on Samsung S8 working with everything except Levitron switches. Have reset my phone and cycled power on switches. Can NOT detect DDL06 devices any more!!! Switches are working with old schedule and totally out of sync!!!
Light was on a schedule. I noticed two weeks ago the light was on in the middle of the day. I opened up the app and noticed my settings no longer existed in the app. I tried to add the light back into the app and nothing. The app cannot see the lightswitch anymore. I see the app was updated in October. I'm not sure when the settings were lost.
A bit fussy getting set up, but stays working better than others I've tried. Lost a star because I can't find a way to delete a device from the App. The range is quite limited, probably especially if the electric boxes holding the switches are metal.
The app works well for the most part. Connected no problem to my Pixel 2 on Android 9. However, I would really like some more scheduling options like in the My Leviton app where you can schedule +/- up to 120 minutes either side of sunrise and sunset. It would also be nice to have an explanation of what the Randomize Schedules setting does.
This would be my third review. Total bad experience with this app. After having the switch replaced with one that has a new firmware everything looked ok. Did not last more than a month. Again will not connect. A total waste of money and time.
I can not get the switch to sync to the app. Rather disappointed because the switch is in a bad spot and was hoping for a solution. Just says cant find device. Have a wifi one right next to it. Works great.
Huge let down. Needed to upgrade my house wiring and started kitchen and dining room. Advantage was to use the dining room light during the night if needed. Got everything wired (not easy) downloaded the app and nothing. Scanned using an independent source and found it is bluetooth but can't connect with android. Model is ddl06.
The app and devices I had stopped working. Contacted the company and they sent me replacements of both devices. Now it works better than before. Connectivity is smooth and quick. Thanks for resolving this for me!
Still won't connect on android. Error code 13 saying to ensure bluetooth is enabled and try again. Even tho bluetooth is enabled. Works on an apple device but not android. I hoped the updated would fix it but clearly it's for mac and not android. If you guys would test it first on mac and android, that may make more sense than just releasing an I tested update.
Bluetooth worked on the 5th try then failed and continues to fail to link up no matter how many times I try. This POS is going back to the store. I might even buy out the store on this product so I can return it and Save everyone else this ridiculous headache. It's not like this timer was cheap it cost me $36. I was actually only looking for a simple timer. My Home Depot does not carry simple timers so I begrudgingly bought this, what a mistake.
Seriously Leviton. You updated your app and left everyone with a non functioning app. The light switches are now useless based on what we bought them for. Update your app to work or maybe refund or money. Edit: after contacting Leviton our faulty light switch was replaced free of charge and all works like it should again. I'll have to say it was great customer service!
Does not connect. Since the latest update the app has been unable to find any Bluetooth connection - prior to this the connection would be lost every now and then. I've tried turning on and off my phone and doing the same with the the Bluetooth on my phone. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling the app (which worked occasionally with the old version). This app has never worked that great and now it doesn't work at all. Very annoying and disappointing.
