Default App Manager Lite
Default App Manager is a simple yet very functional app to manage (set defaults, clear/reset defaults) default applications for different types of actions that Android does. Unlike other applications that allow you to manage defaults for only one-two types of categories, this app allows to you to manage for almost all the common actions.
It eliminates all the hassles and troubles of remembering defaults set for various applications such as Audio, Video, E-mail, Doc Viewer, etc. It is very handy for active Android lovers who use a wide range of applications for any particular category and keep changing them from the default Android settings.

PLEASE READ THE BELOW INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING:
1. To set the default application, please check the 'USE BY DEFAULT ICON' and only then select the application. Otherwise, the application WILL NOT BE set as the default one.
2. Once the default app is SET, the application will open. It might however open with some error-message like 'FILE CANNOT BE OPENED' or 'ERROR WHILE OPENING FILE'. Don't worry, the application is SET as default successfully. You can verify by clicking BACK BUTTON on that application and going back to Default App Manager.

I have been using for over a year and was hoping for for improvement before supporting Development. Uninstalled and trying a new one that is amazing... I will keep an eye on this for any changes 😴 UPDATE: After two years of not using, I decided to give it a try again. Works ok, but it's in need of a update.
Setting a default music player doesn't seem to do anything. The wrong player always keeps coming up. The app can also choose to play loud obnoxious ads by surprise and I couldn't scramble fast enough to get rid of it in the workplace.
Select category->audio streaming. Opera is set (God knows why). App can change nothing. No matter what you tap or long press nothing ever changes. True for all apps and associations. All the app does well is frustrate & annoy users and waste drive space ... a perfect prerequisite (demo) for employment at microsoft, but not for real software design.
This app is the only way I've found to stop email links opening by default in the awful Android browser embedded in my Lenovo Yoga 8 tablet. They now open in Chrome, which is what I want. I'll be delighted if the app continues to work reliably.
All I needed was open DWG files automatically with schemata. Problem is there's no option to do that in the app. You're provided with a very limited number of file types to be opened by default of certain apps. Sorry, uninstalling now! Bye! And thanks!

Main reason I wanted this is even after root of note 4 and custom ROM, I am not able to change the default camera. I've set it to Google camera and the actions to quickly access camera still bring up the stock crappy Sammy camera. Dang, had high hopes.
Only issue is that dolphin browser 11.5.10 cannot be selected as default audio streaming app as previous versions did support this I would appreciate a bug fix to resupport dolphin browser as default audio streaming app I have an lg stylo 2 with android 6.0.1 for Boost Mobile
but it does not have an option for 7z, djvu files. I am trying to prevent builtin pdf reader automatically open 7z files (no defaults set for that app).
Requires sensitive permissions, and does not work (chrome still opens pdf documents in drive pdf viewer despite changed default pdf viewer to mupdf)
Works exactly the way I need it to, with a clean ui to boot. Ads haven't been annoying thus far.
Worked great for a bit. But now only lets me use google play for streaming media even after uninstalling both apps (i switched to spotify) and it wont allow me to use it.
After trying many apps and following faulty instructions, i came across this app and it does the job to set my default launcher. I'll set other default apps and update this review.
Just a few taps and you can change the default application. This was a hassle in android 6.0. No more apparently. Thanks!
Thank you. My last review was 5 years back and still its the best app. It lists all your default apps and helps you clear wierd defaults in Android Nougat to customize your widget.

Now that Samsung has taken away power from the user on the Galaxy S6, this app brings back a little of that.
No longer works... Amazing how went from very useful to forced delete and post bad review. Understand making money, but you used too work and now nothing!
Good app to set default apps for early Android phones (Lollipop and earlier). You don't need it for Marshmallow & later. Expect to be bombarded with ads. Not worth getting the paid version as you don't need it in later Android versions.
This app errors out every time I try to change a default, but it would allow me to make the change. That was before the 7.0 nougat update. Now it crashes and locks up.
Does not work on Xiaomi Mi4i. No response when selecting a default app. Anyway, just found out that this setting can be done via system preferences.
Didn't work at all for me. Would not remove my default email or let set a new one

Does not let me choose between all the apps installed. It only gives certain options. For example. For messaging I prefer to use the app called trillion. But it will not show up to choose as an option in this app.
After using this app successfully for many months, now it won't allow me to set the default browser, perhaps because the webpage it attempts to open appears not to exist.
Nice friendly UI, fast and reliable. I have some rare random crashes, but it doesn't affect the default apps.
I'm disappointed. I only got it to try to keep those stupid keyboard notifications from showing up every time I type but it doesn't seem to have the keyboard as one of the options. I imagine that's on the paid version. I'll be uninstalling, thanks
Seems to work. However the internal android settings process dies right after using app to delete a default, although the delete appears to take effect. So needs more developer Q/A attention in case nastier bug(s) lurks beneath. Happens on Android 6.0 every time.
