this would have been even better if it had been treated like the blue light card ? I now have two cards ? only now we can't use these in the supermarket ? that's we're I've used mine the most or on large Items... The offers are good and it's a great app for finding discounts across a large range of brands. It is annoying when you go through to put details in with some offers, often when getting cinema tickets just by changing the orientation of the phone means all the details you just put in are lost. It never holds details either so when it does loose them it means you have to start again.

Has its flaws, but everything is in one place. Doesn't give you the option to open every link in your browser, which can be annoying. I don't really want to add my payment details in through the app, mainly for security. The option to "open in browser" would mean I'd give the app a higher rating.

Benefits far out way the small price of the card. Recently saved £35 in one transaction.

Poor interface. Loads webpages within the app without allowing pages to be opened in the default browser. This has accessibility and security benefits which are not available whilst using a built in browser. 1* until this is rectified. Edit: since paying for a card, I've discovered retailers have no way of accepting the discount in their new COVID safe procedures. WASTE OF MONEY!

Excellent app, much improved over the previous version. Easy to find the relevant discounts and get the vouchers.

Such a rewarding and great support service for past and present armed forces personnel. The app itself is uncluttered, secure and very useful.

Only just got this as it was recommended by a friend. Already made savings on my SKY subscription that easily paid for the cost of the card with 5 years more savings to go! Potentially significant savings on BA flights as well. This was a Boris incentive that I have to say actually makes sense for once! Would highly recommend any serving or ex-service to get one. Handy app so your card is on your phone so you don't have to remember the actual card. One of those things in life that just works!

The App seems to work OK, and as yet I have no gripes with it. However, I do have an issue with the response that was given to a user from "Blue Light Card Ltd". I've read their reply, and initially was baffled by it! Quote: "If you used; Search > Phrase > 'travel' you are presented with a list of companies that include; hotels, car hire, ferries, insurance, breakdown cover, cruises and holiday companies." I can assure everyone that if you type the phrase 'Search > Phrase > 'travel'.' into the search box, you WILL NOT have a list of ANYTHING appear. I believe that they would've been better writing something more similar to: "Once you are logged in, on the first screen that comes up, tap/click the Magnifying Glass in the top right-hand corner to take you to the 'Search' entry screen. Tap/Click above the pink line where it is written 'Search' and a phrase stating 'No results yet, enter a phrase.' will appear on the screen and a flashing cursor will now be on the line you clicked. This is normal and proves that the App appears to be working correctly. Type in what you are looking for, for example, 'Mothers Day' (without the quotes) and then tap/click on the tick that is on your phone or tablet's keyboard. (Mine was blue, but this may vary from device to device) This will produce a list of answers, and tapping/clicking on one of them will take you to a screen that gives you the full details of the offer. If the offer is not to your liking, tapping/clicking the left arrow at the top of the screen will return you to the main list. Also, note that changing the wording to have the correct punctuation marks may change your result. In my first search for 'Mothers Day' I only got 2 results, but for 'Mother's Day' I got 5! (Remembering not to add the quotes, except for the apostrophe in Mother's of course.) Something else to be aware of is blank spaces. If you are getting strange results, ensure that there is no space at the front of or the end of your phrase. Generally, you will have to try these out for yourself." I believe that "Blue Light Card Ltd" was genuinely trying to help the user get to the same start point for the search, and indeed to then execute a search, but by their language usage (ie 'If you used; Search >') was misguided. To a layman, that in no way says 'Change to the search screen' - their use of jargon/language which wasn't fully understood by everyone could only add to the confusion already evident.

Brilliant App if you use the DDS! Easy to navigate & find savings you never would have considered. I make a habit of quickly searching brands or companies before I purchase online to see if there's any savings to be made, more often then not there's something available. For the price you pay into the subscription it's beyond good value for money. I use the virtual card now for discounts in store when necessary but its easier to just request your discount code via the app for online purchases

Genuine offer's for veterans. Used several times now without difficulty.

Really clunky app! The search categories are unhelpful. You basically need to know which company that you're looking for instead of searching for eg "travel". Discounts ar generally worthwhile but I don't use them as much as I could, because the offers are so difficult to identify on the app

I think more should be offered to the men and women in the British army on this service...

I really like this app a lot. However it can be a little slow at times. I suspect that some of the slowness is down to poor 4g/3g mobile data services. there could be more sub menus broken down into different categories such as food electronics etc. This would take more admin and expense which would take away from this important service for us veterans and serving members

Quite poor design. Layout is chaotic when you have large font settings and horizontal scrolling on a mobile phone is awkward and clunky. Also needs a low data option. The option to have text only and turn off photos and graphics would be good.

Great app would have been 5 stars but some links to holiday companies dont show the discounts and you have to contact them direct to obtain it. The alphabetical search search should have an alphabetical list at one side so you can short cut to the first letter of the retailer (m for morrisons etc) without having to scroll through the entire list upto the desired retailer.

I've just changed my phone and it won't now work on a Google pixel 5 you cannot get past the log in screen without it crashing. I have reinstalled the app too but that doesn't work. I used it lots on my old Android phone and thought it was a really good app

Excellent app for ex forces personal that offers a multitude of discounts on a variety of high street items and deals if one lives near the larger towns and cities.....Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to use my privileged discount membership card as yet...But would imagine others do obtain with some of the tramendous deals on offer.

It would be good if a lot more discounts were in store (Scotland), as one store just looked at card an said no,we don't give discounts, (they do on line). I'm sure some people still like to go in store.

I'm very happy that I applied for the Defence Discount Service card. with over 2,000 companies offering meaningful discounts this has saved me a fortune. I've even managed to use it to get a discount from retailers that are not listed just by showing my card and asking. the app is very easy to use and navigate.
