Delete old messages

Long story short I had 30k+ texts. My messaging app was running slow at 10k so I downloaded go sms pro. Now go sms pro is begging to slow. I searched for many sms deleters and downloaded around 5 different ones. None of them worked. It was freeze and force close. This the last app I downloaded to delete my messages. It took a little more then 24 hours to delete 30k texts but it got the job done

Please give the developer due credit. Up until KitKat 4.4, this worked beautifully. It's not his fault that Google removed the functionality thereafter. So if you're using KitKat and it's not deleting your messages, READ THE DESCRIPTION AGAIN and stop leaving 1 star reviews.

Tried deleting all messages over 1 year old, it told me there was 13.5k (which i dont believe) and then went through the deleting process and said it deleted them all in under a minute, i tried again several times and it does the same thing every time. Not a single message was deleted. Waste of time

Works on my HTC evo 4g. Never crashes, and works correctly. Bought this app ages ago because it works and still does to this day. It's only slow to delete because it hasta delete the catalogged data. For me over 10823 texts and 600+ some picture messages

The app does what it says. The free version will allow you to delete your old messages based on a somewhat customizable time frame. What it doesn't tell you though is that it can't be interrupted by anything, at all, or it stops working. This means that I had to go into my phone settings, set my screen to never turn off then plug it in and let it sit for 24+ hours. If the screen goes off? Stops working. Get a call? Stops working. Want to click on that email notification in the bar? Stops working. Furthermore, it works very slowly. It's deleting one message every 3-6 seconds. With more than 17,000 messages to delete, I'm seriously looking at days without being able to use my phone for anything more than a dim flashlight. But, at least it *is* working, unlike everything else that I've tried. Others don't seem to be reporting this problem here, so perhaps it's something weird with my phone. Wish this app worked. It says it's deleting over 4,000 text messages every time I run it, and the status bar makes it look like it's working, but nothing ever gets deleted on my Samsung Note 3. I still have all texts going back to 2014 even though I tell the app to only keep a few month's worth. Uninstalling.

Been trying to delete more than 49k sms by installing go sms and other sms related app but to no avail. It just freezes my phone. Have considered to root my phone as well until I found this app. Yes, it is quite slow because of the huge count of my sms but it does the work. I am now down to 30k sms and still working with the remaining. I am very pleased with the app and very thankful to the developers 👍 good job guys.

The App shows me a nifty display as if it is deleting messages, however, it is a only displaying the number of messages it would delete if I paid for the App. It leads you to believe they are deleted, but if you actually check your messages, nothing has been removed. Each month the number it displays gets bigger and bigger. Clearly this number would be relatively the same and even less at times if it was actually doing what it says it does. Shame on them if this is a ploy to get me to pay. Why would I?

I don't know what you guys are complaining about. This app deletes about 2 messages per second for me. And I can also do other things on my phone at the same time while it continues to delete them. It's probably just your phone. -EVO.

Couldnt get my phone to delete my old sms messages, it would just lock up and freeze (you would think samsung would have tried to fix that) so i went on the search to find a way to solve the problem and this app did exactly that. Its no speed demon but it was able to wipe over 40k in sms messages that had built up due to my phone being able to erase even single convos without freezing. Great app thanks.

Deleted my messages quickly I had 3000+ msg threads , deleting little by little seems better. Can still do other things on phone while its deleting.

Used to work. doesn't work anymore. Acts like it deletes messages but none of them are deleted.

Im giving it 4 stars because it only does the mesages for yesterday, and i want about an hour old text message to be able to be deleted.

Works alright for what it does, but crashes both this app and messaging for me if i get a text or the screen goes dark while deleting.

It says it was deleting 13,000 messages, which I wish were true. It says it was successful but all messages are still in there

I say almost because it doesn't delete the MMS messages. Otherwise it would get 5 stars. As is 4.

It does take time, but thems the breaks. Does what it says deleted almost 10k sms. The program does not stop when the screen sleeps and I can receive and reply to sms, mms and email while it runs. Even go on internet without interrupting the app. Doesn't delete mms, but doesn't claim to. Thanks dev.

It only works like the first 2 times you use it then it just crashes. There's a better app

May as well have stayed with the free version, waste of money.

Fantastic app, I use it frequently on my Eris. I just hate that it deletes locked messages. I'll give five stars when this is fixed.

Didn't delete messages. I thought they did but they still showed up in two different sms apps.

My hero was running sooo slow because of the 4000 texts in just one thread. Tried to delete it but my phone couldn't. This app saved me.

Didn't seem to work on the galaxy S5, tells me messages have been deleted but they are still there.

I love it! It Worked better than any app I tried & I loved it because its FREE & It works great it took a while but I had over 25k messages lol but it did the job and I loved it ... I left it over night & when woke up it was amazing they were gone I love it

I've tried several texting apps (GO SMS Pro and Handcent SMS) on my phone. Not thinking to delete the text after a while they built up. Using either program, I would constantly get a force close when trying to delete the messages. This program does the trick. I've learned my lesson on letting the text get out of hand and becoming unmanageable. However, this app works great that it runs in the background and you can still use other apps like Twitter, Facebook, make calls and it won't interrupt the deleting process. I was skeptical at first about this app, but it does the trick. Was able to delete 10K+ texts in one night.

Kept saying it deleted all my messages but did nothing in reality.
