Democracy Now!

Still my favorite news program of all time... Informative and sober news coverage... Amy Goodman is anexcellent journalist and a ray of light in this cloudy world of plastic surgery disasters and ridiculous nonsense we call News

Glad that I can stream news from Amy Goodman, but the app is unfortunate - does not exit gracefully - always requires a force stop on Galaxy Nexus/Android 4.3 to close. Audio player controls are barely functional. I'll try and donate more often in hopes that the app will improve.

The is an excellent news source but there are multiple glitches with the app. 1)Trying to skip forward or back results in the app restarting the podcast from the beginning. 2) The volume of the stream is too low - it's often hard to hear if there is any background noise. 3) the only way to stop the app is a forced closure. Otherwise it continues to sit in the task bar at the top of my phone and presumably, drain the battery.

I only recently learned that this app is illegally using copyrighted content to make money for someone completely unaffiliated with Democracy Now. Shame! Not only is that criminal, it's unarguably unethical. Also, the app is a real piece of crap anyways. It's buggy, ineffective, uses a lot of memory for no good reason. So don't download it.

Ehh this app is pretty darn buggy. A lot of times, the episodes don't even appear. It keeps freezing and I have to close it and sometimes even restart my phone for it to download episodes. And I definitely can't have any other apps open when I'm using it. When it does work though, it's legit. Democracy Now is a great show!

Always loved the show, and have has the apps on different phones before. Everytime, there's some kind of bug (ex: it continues to play after i have recieved a phone call, it won't go back to where we left off if it's interrupted, wont show new podcasts at first), but now the app is completely useless. It just says "no data" and that's that, no democracy now app anymore :(

This app is not authorized by Democracy Now and is unethically and illegally making money from advertisements served with material belonging to Democracy Now! Democracy Now! is an independent news broadcast with a policy of not accepting any advertising dollars. I have notified Democracy Now! and it is up to them whether or not to enforce their copyright and have this app removed from Google Play. In the meantime, please boycott this app.

I like the app a lot, but after using it I often need to force close it otherwise it'll stay open forever. It is also buggy, but podcast streaming still works fine even if I keep getting a message saying that the app has stopped. There is no good way to skip the streaming audio without resetting the entire podcast. The ad placement is not good. If this app can be purchased, I'd gladly buy it but first please fix these problems.

Edit: seems to be working much smoother now. (Notifications won't go away. Close the program and still there. Kill the app, still there. Have to uninstall and reinstall to fix. Otherwise I use this everyday. Would be 3 stars, maybe 4 if fixed.

I have been listening to democracy now for 10 years. I can't even tell you how many times I have been more informed on issues than my brother who has a PHD in poliyical sciences. He watches MSNBC for his news...

It's slow to start play, buttons aren't responsive. Try to rewind and it starts completely over. And still has to buffer and lag! Try to fast forward a bit and it goes right to the end. Try to replay and it does nothing. Lags majorly or just plain freezes up and stops completely. I like that it notifies me as soon as a new episode is ready but I'm uninstalling this app and just gonna use the stitcher app, even though the episodes on there are usually a day behind.

I was so happy to be able to watch my favorite news source on my phone. It worked for a few weeks, but now, it seems to be frozen. Says no data in the top of the screen. Such a bummer. I REALLY LOVE Amy and her show. It's the best source out there for the "real" news storys

Constructive criticism. I love democracy now. The app does not have its own shutoff button so you have to go into your phone's settings to do it. It also continues to play when you receive a call.

Most highly misbehaving app on my razr m phone. Stupid interface that doesn't work. I love this show, but whoever is putting the app online needs to be replaced. Going to a paid app that will download the democracy now podcast so I can avoid using this app. So frustrating!

This app doesn't look as good as a lot of other apps but the content is the most important part of democracy now. They don't have a lot of money to produce an extremely high quality app and they deserve the support! That said, I think the biggest improvement would be chromecast support, bring that please!

Every time I load a video to watch democracy now it crashes. Please fix so I can watch real news

Very good newsfeed. You hear more detail and another POV other than typical media secondary to its nonprofit status. Only complaint is I'm having trouble with app staying current and have to go on website to retrieve mist current newsfeed. Seems to stop esp on Friday and can wait an entire week before update

Democracy Now ... is simply the best if not the only unbiased news station out there. After a week or even less of viewing their reporting compared to all the other so called mainstream reporting stations and you'll understand just what I'm saying. Thank you ever-so-much!

This works great. Only downside is the program won't stop running (and will stay in the space at the top of the screen) until I do a "force close" which is really irritating. I should be able to hit "clear" and have the show disappear like all the other notifications.

I love Democracy Now and I love listening with the app. However, fast-forwarding and rewinding don't exactly work.

I really like the accessibility of shows from previous days. However, I must uninstall the app because of it's inability to operate correctly or shutdown. There are numerous notifications that do not go away and are unnecessary. Once you've opened the app it is impossible to close without a force shutdown.

Used to work wondderfully. Suddenly, it has stopped working altogether. I still get automated notice of new episodes, but still nothing at all in the newsfeed. Uninstalled and reinstalled, on multiple devices (tablet, two different phones) with same result (no function). Please fix it; I miss it.

I don't like that you cannot scroll through an episode to restart where you left off. Other than that, the app is pretty average
