It hasn't worked for two months. I emailed customer service. They asked me for additional info, which I sent a month ago. They did not reply, so I sent a follow up. Still no reply. I called customer service. She could not help and said she would report it, and suggested I just use the website. Useless app.

App was fine, but then stopped working. When I open the app, the screen is black and never changes.

I like the convenience of getting D&C news from the app. But lately, the app requires login when selecting articles from notifications or email. Perhaps this functionality was broken in a recent update🤷🏾‍♀️ When I select some articles from the app, it switches to the browser. Again, a (re)login is required. I've also noticed that there are fewer articles in the app than are in the paper. I saw an article in the paper I wanted to share in social media, but couldn't find it via the app.😕

What could be worse than an app that continually signs a subscriber off, lets them know of the fact when they're trying to read an article, and buries the sign-in page two levels down in settings? Having the sign-in process fail spectacularly with server error gibberish. And then not letting the subscriber read the content. Too bad. The contents pretty good. But, once again, bad IT rules the roost.

This app is garbage. Like others, it kept signing me out even after my subscription renewed, and now it won't accept the password I just reset today on a desktop browser. I've tested it twice on the PC and it works fine. The app is the problem. Fix it or I may very well cancel my subscription, Gannet.

I never thought that this very bad newspaper app could get worse, now it has ads sandwiched within every article, even in the obituaries between the text & photo. This is obnoxious. PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR NEWS! Old review: This deserves a NEGATIVE NUMBER. Terrible app, terrible newspaper. App crashes allot. I hope the D&C goes belly up quickly. They removed letters to the editor!!! So bad...

The volume of ads is absolutely huge, especially for something I'm paying a subscription for. Even so, this would be four stars if I didn't have to keep signing in almost every time I open the app. This is basic stuff!

The worst digital access platform around. I signed up for another trial, it accepted my credit card payment, but it will NOT let me log in. Very user UNfriendly. Why do I spend so much time with the D&C and let myself get frustrated?? Shame on me. The bottom line is the newspaper is not really a NEWSpaper anymore. Key stories and sporting events are reported a day late. We had a high profile mayor primary upset and the paper did not report it the next day. It goes on and on. Sports is a joke unless you want to read about the Buffalo Bills or high school sports. Local sports coverage and national major sports playoff coverage is lame at best.

Well Google Play does a great job of billing me. However, not only did I never receive any newspapers on the subscription, but Gannett Co. disavowed all knowledge of any subscription! When I complained to Google, they said that no refund would be forthcoming as I had sibscribed to a 30-day free offer. I thought OK, no harm , no foul until I just received my first pay month billing from Google. Way to go guys! That's the last time I'll try using Google Play to buy something.

For a week straight the first article that comes up is really an ad disguies as 'news' for a local pub that wants to be my neighborhood choice. Pure ad. They dont seem to cycle news into the offerings that are presented on the app. It just not worth paying for this.

Lousy app. Search is terrible...spinning and spinning and "No, it is not my phone." I saw an article in today's news (paper) on Crescent Beach under Roc Roots that I wanted to digitally sent to my daughter out of state; no go! App, wasn't able to even locate something you printed in TODAY'S newspaper.

Make the app function so if a subscriber is logged in they actually can get the access they paid for. You're the first business each month to charge my credit card, but the last app I use because it's undependable. Also, a little more news and less sports might garner more readers.

i dont see all the same stories as the Sunday paper version. i wanted to post an article about the jazz festival but could not get it. Also, it would be helpful to filter searches by date range.

Not happy with this app. I pay for a full digital subscription, but suddenly this week when I try to log in on my phone, I get a blank screen and then it says it timed out.

The functionality is mostly okay, but the app constantly logs me out and demands that I sign back in. It's incredibly tedious and I really hope they fix it soon.

I used to be able to read the news paper as it was printed and published. Now I can only get the summary of separate stories. What happened to the print edition?

Sign in process needs overhaul. I access via Android and am forced to sign in multiple times per day even though i don't sign out. Also sign in screen response very slow.

I have been a subscriber for years but I am continuously told I have subscribe to read an article and now there seems to be no button to even let me sign it...it is the WORST digital situation I have encountered!

Horrible app. I pay $40+ a month for this mediocre paper and the app won't let me read the articles, wants me to subscribe, no place to login. They seem to not care how their customers are treated.

The more recent app is better than the previous version. However, I need to keep re-signing in. The app doesn't keep me signed in. I hope this gets fixed soon.

I already subscribe to the digital D& C and the app wants me to pay for another subscription. There is no way to sign in with my current subscription user name and password.

I've come to rely on this app to provide up-to-date and reliable local and national news during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am also a subscriber to our local paper, the Democrat and Chronicle, which gives me access to all articles on this app.

I constantly have to put in my log in information. Not happy doing this every time I want to read an article. Please add the option of staying logged in!

I am a subscriber, constantly have to log in. Doesn't accept my password. Drives me nuts!!!!!!!!! It is. Now 4 months later,,, you still don't recognize me as subscriber!! Don't let me read what I. Would like to!!!!

Why do I constantly have to sign in? And I'm already a subscriber so why does it keep telling me that I can't read an article until I subscribe? And why can't I find where to sign in? Lots of room for improvement on this app.

used to be a great app until they limited the amount of stories you could read a month and flagged certain stories for members only.... hey d and c there has to be other ways to make money besides pushing a membership USA today manages and so does all our local television news stations... no longer will be using this app

Can no longer view any news stories because the app says I'm not connected to the internet. But, I was able to leave this review....

the app says i don't have an account although I pay for the digital access. this has been an ongoing problem since day one.

Keeps signing me out. There is no sign in options and I keep having to use as a guest. Videos will not play
