Depop - Buy, Sell and Share

I try to edit my listings, hit save to save the changes then I see nothing has changed. Specifically, I am having trouble changing the shipping option to buyer pays for shipping. I've been on the platform 3 months now. As a seller, I have largely unimpressed with Depop. The app is not intuitive. Fees are quite high and PayPal takes a cut as well. They encourage the seller to pay for shipping costs and once all is said and done the amount I'm left with is hardly worth the time.

This app is perfect if you love thrifting/supporting small businesses but need a more convenient method than browsing aisles for 3 hours. I love that I can just look up a specific item or aesthetic and can easily adjust the search through filters. Most of the sellers respond very quickly and I just love how much effort they put in to satisfy their customers <3 (I am very grateful to the developers who were able to resolve my previous issues with the app, you guys rock!)

They have introduced a "send an offer" button. It's so annoying! You cannot remove it to stop people sending stupid offers, which annoyingly pop up every time you open the app. And the best part, it means nothing! Absolutely nothing! Pointless. Sending an offer or accepting one is completely non binding and no different to sending a message. I accepted one. Great! I thought, only to receive no payment and never hear from the buyer again. Way to go Depop.

I can't sell anything, everytime I try to set it up it says theres a problem and to try again later. Have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times but hasn't fixed it. Would love to know what's happening I installed the app on another device (apple) and worked straight away. So now it works on my phone (Android). Could have just been the fact that I use a cheap prepaid Optus phone that it wouldn't work.

Payments don't seem to process when you choose PayPal as payment method . So you think you've secured the item when actually you haven't and the item is still available for others to buy, the seller doesnt receive funds but they leave your account. When you make the purchase again it goes through, meaning two payments are taken for each purchase . Have to double check each transaction to see if I've actually bought the item, then chase the bank to refund one payment. Very annoying please fix

I use this app just about everyday as a buyer. But it seems like every few months, the push notifications never seem to work for messages received, when there's new items popping up for saved searches, and when an item ships. I love the app, but it's putting me on edge to use it less. Plus the recent search filter kinda messed up the previous form of searching.

Was working very well for a while but in the past week I have stopped receiving any notifications. Likes, followers, messages and even sales. I have contacted support multiple times but have yet to have an answer as to why. They are quick to reply but once I respond that their advice has not worked I do not hear back. It seems like a minor problem but it is hard to operate a business when I am unaware of messages, sales, offers etc in a timely manner. @radrexvintage

Good app. Easy to use, even for non-tech-savvy people. Only complaints I have are: 1) the chat section seems to save previous text in the text box so you have to delete what's there before you can type a new message. 2) I might be wrong but I don't think you can send photos via direct messages.

Recently, depop has become practically unusable. To be able to sell on depop, I need to be able AT MINIMUM to receive and be notified of messages, and to be notified when I sell an item - this isn't currently working on depop. I contacted support weeks ago and still no fix. Of course there's other issues - the crashing, infinite loading screens, the offer system, etc I wouldn't sign up as a new seller or buyer until it is fixed.

DISGRACEFUL! FAR TOO MANY ISSUES! It's a liability. Scary & unsafe. Shuts down. Strange java.lang.IllegalStateException: shows up on my screen. Can't log in after I uninstall & reinstall the app, my account details never work. I never receive any notifications even though it’s switched on in my settings. My account is now locked after trying to reset my password & log in with the new one. It's a bloody nightmare! I have pending messages & customers waiting. Still waiting for reply. Not cool!

It used to work great but lately there are so many glitches it makes me want to delete the app. First off messages take forever to load, and now when I make an offer on an item the products are stuck in offer accepted status and I am told my card is being declined when I do try to pay. I've tried this w multiple card and no resolution. It is beyond frustrating because I loved the app before this started all happening. Extremely dissapointed.

it's an okay app. selling and posting is easy, but when push notifications are open they will not redirect you to anything! I get a plain white blank screen & never loads anything! you must exit the app & search for whatever the notification was. I've also had personal messages not being notified until I've decided to open the app. it's a frustrating experience.

I love buying things on depop because I like the filter system and the fact that it's a more sustainable option. However, the app itself is annoying. Whenever I click on a notification from Depop, it doesn't actually load right away on the app and I have to go back and find it myself. Whenever I try to message sellers, the message never sends unless I close and reopen the app. I mean, I can still navigate it fine despite all that so I'm fine with it otherwise.

I love selling on Depop! Making way more than I ever did on Poshmark. The only feedback I have is that when you're making a listing and you accidentally press back one times too many, it deletes your progress and you have to start your listing over. If the developers can add a pop up prompt asking if you're sure you'd like to erase your progress to ensure that pressing back wasn't a mistake, that would be swell.

Overall the app and platform is ok for me, it's laggy and slow and many bugs but nothing I can't live with. The only issue I've had recently is when I create draft listings and save them. They disappear the next day and move over to incomplete section. But there not incomplete. It's so annoying when you drafted 30 listings only for them to vanish. And have to do then all over again... Only for the same thing to happen. I've updated the app and I also use the desktop version same thing.

Really disappointed. Been using depop for years. Lately my messages aren't showing up until 2 weeks later. Constantly says an error has occurred. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times. Too many bugs lately also realized some sales are stuck in ready to ship status when I've used the labels provided and have shipped the items.

Won't allow me to verify my identity so I've been unable to receive payouts for about a month now. Everytime I try it keeps saying needs camera permissions but I've already given it access within the app settings. I've reached out twice and the first time they told me to give it some time and after I waited the designated time and was still unable to access them I was told to send a another picture of the issue and haven't heard back since. Overall frustrated and unsure of what to do.

It'd be nice if we could make more than one save list to save different types of items separately as that'd make it easier to find things later on, and for some reason when I chose my size options in my profile my sizes won't save, so at least two thirds of the items recommended to me won't fit - please consider making these changes. Otherwise things are fine so far.

The notifications don't seem to work anymore, I had multiple messages from 2 days ago that I was unaware of. And even when I do get notifications if I click on it to open it, it actually opens the browser and takes me to the Google play store to download the app. Or it just opens the app on the home screen instead of what the notification was for

Great idea but the app is barely fit for purpose. Messages never send, nothing is in a logical place, the filters have very bizarre options and don't always show up. It's like a LOT of people all worked on their bit of the app and then it all got shoved together without much consideration. Also, why is it not possible for you to print your Depop postage label at a Evri parcel shop?? This app could be excellent witha little more thought.

Literal garbage. I need to close and re-open the app multiple times just trying to do simple things. Notifications seem to completely break the app since I can never click on them without the app crashing. Messages will double up and send twice. Deleted or sold items won't go away no matter how many times I refresh or try again...

I've used Depop for over a year and have enjoyed it for the most part. I am happy they don't have the outrageous fees like some of the others; in my opinion-it's a fair trade. However, there are definitely upgrades that I'd like to see (allow more uploaded pix, addt'l categories when selling items). Pretty good app. I look forward to seeing/using a more advanced and user-friendly app.

Unusable, messages have an error message on them before I've even sent one. No notifications come through for messages anymore, I've missed out on a lot of sales. They've taken multiple listing down for "prohibited" items but are brand new, branded and have all the original packaging including the ingredients lists. Think I'll try and sell on vinted

Very poor user experience for both buying and selling. Buying- Depop really need to invest in their content moderation. They're allowing people to post under a brand name which is not what the item is at all to attract buyers. They're also letting people post items which they want to buy as something that they're selling. Selling- really hard to get full length photos as the app crops them. App discards drafts too easily if you press the back button, it's completely gone.

UPDATE 3/24: Persistent bugs with each update. Suddenly photos are appearing blank in my listings. I've reached out to support numerous times describing the issue, the reply I received had exactly nothing to do with the problem I described?! Can anyone over there help?! Unbelievably frustrating. ---------- Been buying and selling on Depop for a few years now. While I like the simple IG grid format, the app can be quite buggy. Messaging would be GREATLY IMPROVED with a photo-adding feature!

Great app for listing and selling clothing, but sooooo many bugs. It's like they fix one and three more spawn. One of the more annoying ones is a message you type days ago keeps reappearing in the text box. I've not been getting notifications since last update either, and two items appearing in a row when you search something is so clunky. (16/10): shipping cost not appearing after lastest update .. (3/5): takes an age for drafts to load .. (3/6) glitching when I refresh/update item ..

Overall good app but I have a few complaints: 1. The app crashes while I'm picking colours in the search. 2. The make an offer button only seems to be available to random people and not others, such as me. 3. You can't make collections with your saves, only your likes? 4. Extensive misuse of the word 'vintage' by sellers for vintage INSPIRED items. 5. Better moderation for overpriced scams.

Love the app which is why it's so disappointing the app continuously crashes. The lastest update has completely crashed the app - DNA edit has been reset, saved and liked items aren't displaying (saying I have no saved items), continuous "something went wrong" messages, nothing loads. App is totally unusable, which isn't ideal for a buy and sell app considering lots of people will have items to post, update shipping details etc.
