A fun minimalist game that doesn't stress you with internet connectivity, ads, or even loading screens. I just starts up instantly and plays. There is a bug that required me to reinstall and lose my progress. When you find the rock around hole 700 don't push it into the hole. It will break the game. (They have since patched this. Even better!)
I was happy with the app on my PH-1, but then I updated from 1.50 to 1.61 and... the sound mixing is terrible now. The "ball respawn" and "success" noise that are played now have a ton of (very loud) square wave noise overlayed so you can't hear them. It's another effect playing at the same time (ground contact noise). This didn't happen before. The overlay for the apps+back buttons are retained now, which means there's a slight chance of swiping out of the app when using your right hand.
Of all the games I have installed, this game is the one constant on my phone. Always fun, never stale, often frustrating, but ultimately satisfying. There are few pleasures like nailing a hole-in-one or getting just the right bounce and roll to allow for an easy gimme. It's easy to just quickly play a hole or two, but you can also play for hours and keep saying 'just one more hole ...'. The best $0.99 I ever spent on a game.
I've bought it on iOS and Android. There's something about this game I just can't get over. It's just so perfect. It's simple. No ads, no in app purchases, super simple mechanics. I've purchased a boat load of games over the years, but I'd have to say that this may be my most played game, including a majority of my Nintendo Switch and PC games, which is incredible for me to say about a mobile game.
Simple but fun, can't stop playing it in my down time. Definitely worth the money to not see ads after every shot. I don't know how many levels there are but I'm almost at hole 500 and the game is good as is. but I'd like to design my own hole to play. That's if there is a end and run out of holes to play.
Excellent game, beautiful simple. No leaderboard, achievement, overly bright music leads to a surprisingly zen, relaxing and addictive experience. Please do add a mute button though.
Still playing this game 5 years later! No adverts, no in-game purchases, super quick to load. Lovely little game. So relaxing, but fun to try and beat personal bests (you have to reinstall to reset the score)
Amazing. Simple. All goals (like setting pars) is based on you. Almost 6 K in on old phone and it was the first thing I purchased on my new one. only complaint is lack of way to turn off sound, but the sounds are non-intrusive af. would recommend
No stupid ads getting in the way, no constant pressure to spend ridiculous amounts of money to make the game somewhat playable. Just a simple, well-made mechanic and a minimalistic background to enjoy it in. Best $1.49 I'll likely ever spend on an app.
I have arrived at hole 2529, the difficulty increases and the desert changes. And I simply hit the ball and continue on in an endless game of golf. There is no menu, no scoreboard and no ads. Just me and a calm desert while traveling on a train, waiting for a meeting to end, or procrastinating going to bed.
Excellent casual game when you have a few minutes to spare (and then realize *just one more* you're still playing 20 minutes later). Also bought it on steam just to support and hopefully get a sequel with another theme like underwater or Mars or something.
This unfortunately is not a golf game where you play on courses in the desert with different clubs. You hit a 'ball' along a line into cut outs which are labelled with a flag. It is very simple so could be restful, but it's not consistent some time the 'ball' stops on a steep down slope and other times it doesn't. It's cheap but still a con.
Every hole is a par 2. Don't underestimate the importance of putting. Lay up and grab a par. Rolling off the edge of the screen is OOB and a re-tee. I feel like this game has made me better at golf.
This game is impossible to describe. It is poetry. It is desperation. It is redemption. It is the indescribable loneliness of an endless plain. Discover a beautiful crafted world, but more importantly, discover yourself.
This is the type of gem that they just don't make anymore. Simple, one time purchase games that aren't trying to nickel and dime you to bankruptcy. I found this game on a message board about old Android games. Glad I did.
I stand under the beating sun, the desert rolls into the distance. There is only the ball and the distant hole. I must play on, what else is there to do in this endless waste?
Great chill relaxing game, no adds, nothing blowing up, no things to manage. Just chill desert golfing. 5/5. Would beat again. Also, can we get some more holes? 10000 isn't enough. 🍕
Very basic app without features. Can't exit the game with any button, can't restart the game, it just goes on. Levels aren't varied enough. It gets tedious pretty quickly.
Good game but is a bit buggy on my new s22. Everything except the sky is black. Worked fine on my S10.
It's a simple, calming, infinite golfing game. Nothing to distract you from the zen nature of hitting a ball into a limitless series of holes - not even a menu.
relaxing and infuriating in nearly equal measure (though usually more on the positive end), Desert Golfing is a wonderful way to pass the time.
It's simple, solid, and doesn't assualt you with ads, solicit you for ratings or need an internet connection. No gimmicks, no bugs, mildly rude sometimes. What else is there?
Beware! You can't put it down once you've started. And it seems to be endless. And even then you can take it to Mars. So you have to live endless twice to finish those games.
It has the look of a sìmple game out of the early days of pc gaming, but it is lots of fun. It is a great game. Five stars all the way. The best 2 bucks you will ever spend on a phone app.
I used to love this game, but I noticed my device would occasionally reboot only while playing it. I contacted the developer about it, but unfortunately there's still no reply and no app update since then.
Cool idea, but teeing off does not work well on the Galaxy Note 20. My finger was way too close to the edge of the screen to hit the ball far enough for a hole in one. Ended up getting a refund because this made it unplayable for me.
I'm giving this a 3 for one reason: It's nearly impossible to backup your save or move it to a new phone. PLEASE add an import/export, or cloud-sync feature. PLEASE. I'm on hole 7691. I've made over 23,000 shots in the game. I don't want to lose it but this is the single app on my phone that I can't backup. Doesn't Google Play Games integration give super easy cloud save support? It probably wouldn't even be that hard to add into the game.
