Detective's Choice (Series)

This is the third of these "choice" novel/games I've gone through and well I'm not always so crazy about the subject matter, it's interesting enough to keep me going through to the end and it's done well from a storyline and choice type perspective. I do hope they come out with a lot more stories and different topics especially something in the long lines of apocalypse survival type thing (no, Please, NOT zombies... That is SO overdone.)

There are 3 stories or 3 volumes in this app. I finished the first 2, but you can't do the 3rd unless you buy a certain number of coins. They'll let you watch ads to get coins, but not enough. I'm done with pay to play for any game or app!!! I'm tired of the greed! UNISTALLED!!! The stories were not that interesting, nor were the characters and some of the choices were downright ridiculous!!!

Only one checkpoint in but absolutely in love, it's hard to stop reading. Definitely not what I was expecting, in a good way. Recommending to my friends for sure! Excited to see where the story goes next! Legit made me laugh out loud at some points 😆 Some very good word choices, and I can like, "see" the story playing out in my head as I read, it's cool

This decisions-based game makes reading so much more fun, I found myself constantly going back throughout the main story scenes to see what different options changed the course of events. For people who aren't keen on micro-transactions there is also an option to earn coins through watching adverts to progress. You gain extra coins and Luck (which can be used as a way to restart a checkpoint if you make the wrong decision) through achievements. This is one of my favourite text-based adventures!

The game was a lot of fun and it peaks my interest. It got me to read, play and think all t the same time the whole day. I mean, the story itself was the main thing that kepts me wondering to what, how, when and who page per page. I just could not help reading and playing it. Awesome. I love the ending. Great work for the creators of the story and the game.

It was a brilliant read, the story keeps you on your toes from start to finish. The choices aren't too hard or too easy, they're just the right amount of good and having read Wizard's choice too, I can say with certainty that Delight Games' interactive novels are definitely worth trying out!

A fun departure from other detective games. The story clips along fast. I'm not sure the Life, Coolness, etc system does very much to enhance this beyond a choose-your-own-adventure book. It's almost a distraction, but I'm still reading and having fun making choices.

1st game was fine, although the speculative (magic) stuff in this noir detective genre seems odd. 2nd game wasn't as good. Choices seemed more random than logical for the character. Is he cool? or gentlemanly? Would he use his muscle? or his brains? I gave up when, without reason or explanation, choices meant losing a life or gaining one. Maybe I'll try game 3. It might make more sense. Or maybe not. (Cool increases by 1.)

Very good story and game, way too many ads. Another game where you need to pay to get rid of ads, otherwise they pop up literally every 5-10 pages. Costs $5.99 to remove ads which is a complete waste of money. It's a shame a good story has this plague on it.

It's the first time I've ever played a game like this and I am enjoying it. I had a few laughs😁 when I read some parts. I was also captivated by the descriptions of the characters and what was taking place to the point where I was able to visualize the scenes. I only downloaded this game yesterday and so far it's good. There aren't any pictures apart from the introductory image and a skull face when you die. I will definitely play more games like these. Great job to the developers. 👏👏

Entertaining story mixed with an interactive format. The story, although not the best literature ever (it cannot hold a candle to King, Hawthorne, Hemmingway, Shakespeare, etc.), is engaging and fun. It mixes elements of old Humphrey Bogart movies with the "Chose Your Own Adventure" books from decades ago. I gave the game 4 stars instead of 5 because the developers failed to provide a "help" menu. I cannot remember what the character's "cool" or "rage" ratings are for.

It was amazing to sink into a world away from reality again .. this game helped me get back into reading .. I loved it. The decision making was sometimes hard .. but that made it even better ... like the fate of everything was in your hands .. truly a wonderful game. Can't wait to get into character and play more♡

I have liked and bought other games from the publisher, Wizard's Choice (Very good!) and Witch Choice (Outright fantastic!) from the same publisher but this game was plagued by intrusive ads. These were immersion breaking and I did not even manage to start liking the game because I watched about seven forced zombie game ads before I managed to make ten choices. Frankly -- this sucked way too much. Maybe it was random bad luck but I did a #ragequit.

Honestly, I was very anoyed when I read the one star reviews, " It's too much text" to sum them all up. I started reading trying not to be affected by the reviwes, but stopped only a few minutes after. The main reason for that is, to put it bluntly, the story is boring. I am someone who enjoyes engaging stories and convoluted plots, but I couldn't read past the first choice which punishes you for being and I quote "a gentelman"

I like these versions of choice games, but the cost for additional chapters is kinda ridiculous. I don't mind watching the ads, that's the price for a free game. But needing coins (which of course you can buy) to keep playing an add-filled game is annoying.

So far it has been great fun. For those of us who cannot use the micro transaction options they have atleast made it easier with video ads. The story is fast paced. Really cool strong character. Good story line. I am really enjoying it. Also its not too complicated😆

Close to perfection, however it would be a little better if the grammar was simpler {I have played several of your choice games but the grammar of this one is harder so please make the grammar more simple but all names are ok}, the text had pics along {like in wizard's choice} & the story was a bit more interesting!

This interactive novel is pretty interesting. The concept of having stats and being able to game over while reading a story is actually a lot of fun. Its simple, and the writing is a bit amateur but enjoyable nonetheless

Its one of the few choice games which balances story and character build perfectly. Almost all the characters and situations were carefully and descriptively written that ensures the selection of choices more accurate. And also the storyline is fantasic and exiting beyond measure.

Great noir story, I imagine it in black n white both boston accents. Tho at times I can't change much with my choices. Easy, fun, engaging. Hope to play all the chapters. Wizards choice was fun too, wasn't feeling ranger in the least.

Wow, I'm completely engrossed - am tearing through the pages like no tomorrow. Purchased the full length version when I was about 5 minutes into the sample. LOVE THIS; more please! Incredible job creating a fast-paced, engaging story that continually leaves you on edge in anticipation of what's next to come! 🤓😎

love the storyline and the challenges I wish there were pictures occasionally to accompany the reading to bring even more life to the story. The story itself is well thought out and this is definitely more of a detective game than most of the detective games in the play store.

I've been playing these types of games in my younger years, and nostalgia and boredom made me wonder about those days again. This game made me remember why I was addicted to them. Fiction is silly and all, but this game made me play nine hours straight. Jack Jericho's story is completely compelling, and, despite questionable storyline here and there, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Delight Games!

5 Stars Baby! I was hesitant to read this after only using it to collect Luck for "Zombie high" but after finishing "Oregon's Trail" i had 42 Luck left over and decided to use it all on this. "Detective's choice" Is really Good, I just realized, So is Jack going to be a Werewolf forever? He had said the Guy who bit him split town, Does him destroying the Yellow king mean the Wolf in him is Automatically destroyed? I have more questions but besides that it Was Amazing to Read.

One of the Best apps I've ever downloaded tbh I hate reading but this makes reading more of an experience and keeps me hanging on every line makes me enthused about reading only critic would be with the options of choice to actually change up the dialogue and story plot alot more other then that still hours full and entertainment download and thank me later xD
