This game is pretty good, but SE's complete unwillingness to fix the text bug that makes story and menu text completely unreadable means I refuse to rate this higher than 1 star. The fact that Square Enix is still charging money for a game with such a glaring and obvious visual bug is just utterly baffling. The heartbreaking thing is otherwise, it's another solid entry in the GO series of mobile games (the game is still playable despite the visual bug).
The text is white on a white background which makes it harder to read. Text overlays each other, which doesn't allow me to read at all. Suggestion: text shouldn't disappear on its own, it's better to disappear and the dialogue continues only when we touch the screen. This one is better than Hitman GO, but still isn't as catchy as Lara Croft GO. You're doing great but It needs more improvements and it seems that you're not giving much attention to them, specially this one.
It's an OK game. Not as interesting to me personally as Hitman GO, but not sure why. Story dialog seemed patchy and didn't really add much to the experience, and the ending was ambiguous. Animation was good and individual puzzles were fine, but some mechanisms were not obvious and resulted in confusion at times. An OK time-killer when waiting for other things in life.
After playing through the entire game I can't recommend this. The game is fun but is also a buggy mess. For example, there is some graphical glitch that makes text unreadable in the menus which means you can't tell what's going on in the story very well and makes menus way more difficult to navigate. No fun. Secondly, I half downloaded the game so I could earn Praxis Kits for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Except I never received those kits even after linking my account to both games and troubleshooting the issue. It appears the praxis kit thing is entirely broken so don't get your hopes up if that's why your buying this game. I'll leave two stars because, at its core, this is a good puzzle game - the devs just need to fix it!
I played this on Windows 10 Mobile via 950XL. It was a fun game and as it was on sale I picked it up here in the Play Store. Unfortunately there is an issue with text during cut scenes and even the settings where everything overlaps (doesn't clear the old text before displaying new) making it impossible to read anything. I went into settings to see if I could fix it, but you can't read much and then the app crashed. The triangle background is also the same colour as the text. Was fine on W10M.
I have to slightly disagree with reviews that say the puzzles are intuitive. While the majority of them are indeed well crafted and test your thinking skills, there are a handful of puzzles that I found to be too convoluted to effectively solve in the alloted set of moves without relying on the hint option. Overall it's a fun game and a decent addion to the Deus Ex franchise but some of the puzzles could have been done a little more clearer.
A very well thought puzzle game, which I really enjoyed. Although, some dialogues are unreadable which makes it impossible to follow the story. The menu is also buggy. However, it does not reflect on the gameplay and the overall experience from the game is good. I contacted the developers about the dialogue text issue but sadly, they don't know when it will be fixed if at all.
Not such a great game as I expected. I mean the concept is great, but there's too many flaws. Firstly it doesn't provide a tutorial at the beginning which gets confusing. Then the solutions are only three in number, so you're stuck if you don't know how to proceed beyond a level, unless you pay them for a pack of solutions! I got stuck in level 7 or 8 Also there's some problem with the text on the screen many times, I keep getting double texts over each other...
Despite the fact that this could easily be a 5 star game, and the best installment of the GO series, the clunky interface combined with bugs that break the in-game cutscenes sours most of the experience. In the game side it presents the most options and puzzle types of any of the GO games and unlike the cutscenes it doesn't present any bugs.
Wow!!! What a bug fest of a game!!! 1. Text doesn't disappear on the intermediate screens, actually, nothing disappear, so you can't properly see the levels too 2. The tutorial doesn't work or is non-existent! My hunch is on the latter 3. White text over a white triangle net background, amazing choice!!! Made by Square Enix??? Worse than the worst indie games!!! AAA my ***
I find this the weakest entry in the GO series. Hitman GO and in particularly Lara Croft GO displayed a lot of soul, but this one seems more sterile and made by people who weren't interested in their craft. What ruins the game almost entirely is the unskippables dialogues. The first time around it's completely uninteresting blather from people I don't care about. On subsequent attempts to beat a stage in minimal steps, the dialogue is just as unskippable, and even less interesting.
Inferior to Lara Croft Go in every way, but still an enjoyable puzzle game on mobile phones. On my system (Huawei P20 Pro) graphics are glitchy, especially dialogue texts which remain on screen, causing text to eventually become unreadable. Decent graphics, and some cool puzzle designs especially later on. But as far as Go games "go" (excuse the pun!), this one is more shallow than its brethren. Definitely worth a try.
The game play and everything is good. But the readability in the menus is zero caused by the effect. Even the microtransaction menus and price is unreadable. I don't know how this made past testing. And cannot read any other dialogues other than the first. Because it all stacks on top of each other. Only thr gameplay is nice. Everything else Is just frustrating.
It's poor. The text in the introduction does not delete when the next line is over laid on the background. This means after the first two paragraphs its unreadable. Come on: This is basic functionality. The game might be really good but I've no incentive to play with so little back story known.
It is the worst in the series. It was fun but as the third game I expected more. Despite having conversation I felt like there was less story in this one. In Hitman there was a map you had to traverse, in Tomb raider there were catalogs you had to fill in. Those made me more involved then "he is bad, kill bad guys" linear missions, levels without context.
How is this game so bad compared to Hitman and Tomb Raider. The UX is nauseating, dripping in cliche triangular flare that's constantly in motion. The gameplay is unintuitively frustrating, with Undos now costing real-world money and threatening anyone trying to unravel a puzzle. The pop-up storyline, which was conveyed better in its predecessors using no-words than Deus Ex with its talking heads, covers up important counters. This game is the sad result of microtransactions > UI.
Pity. The game would rate 3-4 stars if they hadn't been money grubby to the point that "undo" is now a paid feature, and not even one that recharges on its own. Especially annoying at they put it _before_ the free restart option. You always see the "undo" button, but you have to go digging for the ability to just restart the level.
I liked it before but at some point, there was a bug where I can't read any text or see the level section screen at all. I'll definitely change the rating if this gets fixed but it isn't currently playable.
A very addictive puzzle game that requires you to think out of the box. I managed to finish it without paying for extra helps and such. You know when a game is good when it ends and you want more. Great job devs! My only complain is that i couldn't see the dialogues properly as they were bugging into the white background "web" creating a mess
Game is intriguing and asks of you to actually think for a change. Graphics are good also but that's the good side. The bad is that some of the text gets stacked on top of other text when you got cutscenes or smeared. Don't know if it is due to me playing on high settings but it shouldn't be the issue. Seeing as how the last update was 2 years ago I do not believe they will fix this. It ain't a deal breaker but it needs to be pointed out. 2.5/5.
Text Overlay Issue Gameplay is fine, enjoyable as any other GO game but you can't appreciate the story, with Deus Ex is famous for a gripping story. The text, which is white, is put on a white background which is difficult to read and then the next line, also white, is layered on top so as the text goes on it gets harder and harder to read. Should be an easy fix but clearly abandoned this game's support (with the app being free).
Bug that overlays text and images makes for an annoying experience. Gameplay is fun but not enough to bring rating up. The known bugs that still aren't fixed will keep 1 star affixed.
Actual gameplay is fun if a bit easy for a puzzler but the story can't be enjoyed at all since the text is white on white and overlays with itself never refreshing. I also can't read any of the main menus because the screen just keeps adding new things without deleting the old text first causing massive overlays of garbage pixels.
Another very good GO game, wasn't quite as good as lara croft GO that one was amazing but still good, some very challenging missions. The menu was really annoying as its buggy and stops you from reading any dialogue but once in the missions it's fine. A new hitman GO would be amazing or an assassins creed GO!!!
Extremely fun game but appears to be no longer supported. I have cleared the game entirely with all achievements. I have reached level 54 on player made levels. Unfortunately all achievements are impossible to get without the no longer existing weekly and special event puzzles. Very disappointed by this.
Yes some of the levels are hard, but why would you play if it was easy. I play chess all the time so I play this game the same way. Zoom out a bit and play your moves in your head before you move, also the NPCs moves at the same time. I finished with all achievements. I have had no problems with this game. Also about the text problem, I have had no problems reading anything. It must be your phone or tablet.
