Example 1 : a neonate is receiving 230 mL dextrose 10% but he was found to be hypoglycemic. Next step is to increase dextrose concentration (may be 12%) but the new 12% concentration is not a premade form. This app helps to calculate how to mix (D25W + D5W) or (D25 + D10W) to reach the new 230 mL dextrose 12%.

Example 2 : a neonate receiving 230 mL dextrose 10% which delivers a GIR 6mg/kg/min, now he is found to be hypoglycemic. Next step is to make GIR reach 8mg/kg/min. Just open the app, enter the target GIR (8) , baby weight, dextrose volume and it will calculate the new required dextrose concentration and how to mix it from other available concentrations.

Example 3 : a neonate, receiving 300 mL total fluids, on GIR 6 , dextrose volume 280mL, was found to be hyponatremic. Increasing the saline volume or concentration means decreasing dextrose volume to maintain total daily fluids. To maintain the GIR on 6mg/kg/min with the new lower dextrose volume, the app will make all calculations within 5 seconds and return even the final dextrose concentration after dilution with other fluids (eg.
