Dhammapada (English)

The Dhammapada
- The Buddha's Path of Wisdomtranslated from the Pali by Acharya Buddharakkhita
The Dhammapada is the best known and most widely esteemed text in the Pali Tipitaka, the sacred scriptures of Theravada Buddhism. The work is included in the Khuddaka Nikaya ("Minor Collection") of the Sutta Pitaka, but its popularity has raised it far above the single niche it occupies in the scriptures to the ranks of a world religious classic. Composed in the ancient Pali language, this slim anthology of verses constitutes a perfect compendium of the Buddha's teaching, comprising between its covers all the essential principles elaborated at length in the forty-odd volumes of the Pali canon.

I've recently gotten into looking into buddhism and buddhist thought and have really enjoyed this app. It brings both the actual version and the English version together. The interface is simple and easy to use and if a saying sticks out to you you have the ability to favorite it. Even if you are not a practitioner, this is a wonderful introduction to the sayings of the Buddha. Thank you for creating this app!

Very nice app and has small size too! The copy to clipboard function is a very useful one. I wish the atthakathās of each verse were also included. That would be great. Thanks for the efforts! from India with metta.

Bless you for making this app. The interface is smooth and responsive, and incredibly intuitive. It's easy to pull up a chapter or verse to read on-the-go, and that's why this app has become so invaluable to me.

Good display, voiced presentation. Clean uncluttered look. I wish alternate translations could be shown with pāli, line by line or side by side. Very nice as is.

I started off a christian and started reading the bible and I gave up on christianity and became agnostic. I wanted to know "well beacuase christianity is false, is everything else?" So I started to look. Im not finished yet, but this app doesent contain ads, asks for no special permisions, and is absolutly amazing, 10/10 would reccomend.

I just checked to see how well it worked, it is very nice and clean. I cannot comment on the translation as i am not familiar with these writings but the wisdom is clearly present. Bless whoever made this app for there are no special permissions required. As the sun is always giving without any expectation, so are the petals on a flower symbol of appreciation.

This user-friendly, minimalist style app, presents the text in a very digestible format, especially for those unfamiliar to the Dhammapada

Good app. Good for reading the Dhammapada. Not beautiful, but it does what it says.

I am very thankful for this app. I think adding other parts of the Khuddaka Nikāya could help too. Otherwise one must go outside the app.

Actually I must thank the creator of this app to have a idea such like showing the praise "Sabbe saththa bhavanthu sukhithaththa" when we exit the app😊😇😊😇😊😇🥰. Respect from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰. And I was pretty amazed of there's no one still made critical reviews on this app...

It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles, because then the victory is yours. It can not be taken by anyone, not by angels or demons, heaven or hell.
