Diabolical

Start practicing your evil laugh! As the world's greatest criminal mastermind, choose a lair, hire a minion, and steal the world's largest ball of aluminum foil! (Or, destroy the world. FINE.)
"Diabolical" is a 130,000-word interactive novel by Nick Aires, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based--without graphics or sound effects--and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Famous, feared, or filthy rich—why not all three? You've got the money and the motives to build an evil empire worthy of the most ruthless villain the world has ever seen. Crush the good guys and terrorize the populace! Stamp a big red "FAIL" on your enemies' foreheads! Plunder your way to world domination – or sit back and pet your kitty while your henchmen do it for you.

Will you be a high-tech daredevil, a ruthless military soldier, or an apparition terrifying to behold? What calling card will you leave at the scene of your crimes? Whatever your choices, the results will be diabolical.

• Play a villainous story of scheming, grandstanding, and laughing evilly.• Interview and hire the best possible (or best available) minion.• Decide when to use trickery, when to use force, and when to hide behind henchmen.
• Choose the ultimate, guaranteed-to-be-infamous nickname.• Play as male or female, with straight, gay, and bisexual romance options.
• Destroy the world!

Great story, loved playing it, but there are a few glaring technical issues. The game gets a blank screen at times that won't go away unless i reinstall the game. There also really should be a "go back a choice" option for the replayers. It is really bothersome to play through the same scenes time and time again. My suggestion would be a choice tree that lets you go to the choices you made if you played with them until the end of the game. Maybe designed like a DNA strand...

I don't like how the story is passing by skipping up time. It starts with you as a new villain, then, all of a sudden, on the next chapters you are already well known and have fought a lot of heroes and made new friends. But it all happens in the background. It makes the story feel inconsistent. This also makes making choices kinda pointless. I also wish the story had a darker more mature tone, but it's satirical instead. Not very diabolical at all.

I love this! I love the sarcastic tone, the news anchors, all the characters and options. I love that you can be whatever kind of villain you want, you can even be a good guy. There are so many different choices and directions and interactions. Also thanks for not making the final battle skill related options confusing. This was so good! I'm gonna go play it again.

Love the game, it was great. However I wish I could've interact with the characters a bit more, because I found myself drawn to them alot. Disappointing, oh. And the ending was great, it really builds up to a sequel! Well, atleast the ending I got does. Perhaps you could work on a sequel... I would totally play it! If you were to do that, then please try to add more content, even if it costs more money to buy the novel. And I highly recommend Diabolical!

It had an absolutely amazing story behind it. The ending, while sad and a bit disappointing was definitely creative and very interesting. It was cool to see the story develop, but it was sad it ended the way it did. I'd like to see a spin off or two, somewhat similar, but same creators and their way of thinking and the options they give you, like multiple partners.

Honestly not the best, not for 3.99$! It felt like too much reading, not enough choices and honestly it seems to make villainy satire in this style. Honestly feel ripped off as I wasn't able to use any money I got, plus wasn't able to even customize or design my character. For 3.99$ you get cartoony choices, text based story that when you make a decision, it happens no matter what. It felt incomplete and severely lacking any real plot. You make millions but never get to spend it.Not even once!

I payed a small amount for this, 3.99, but I'm not really sure I think it's worth it. At the start I was expecting to be a dramatic and really good game about you being the villain, fighting the hero and the villains above you, but it made me, the villain, look like the stereotypical child's villain. The first chapter I was robbing a place and then confronted a large scale villain, then what? You go back to the past and then to the future then a vacation? What?! It becomes to stale to quick to me

Definitely up there as one of the best CoG games i've ever played, the way it's written is charming and immersive, the characters are interesting, the comedies land perfectly, while still delivering a satisfying end to the story. 5/5

I really enjoyed this! The writing was funny and easy to go through. There are a few things that could have bleen fleshed out more though. (SPOILERS!) What happened to the guard you kidnapped, the other 2 potential sidekicks and the Minotaur founder? Also kinda wished something could've happened with The Drake. I'd love a sequel :v

I only played the first few chapters, but it was FUN. There is a supervilian that I favor greatly who destroys entire UNIVERSES. like the DIRTY ABOMINATIONS they are! It was so fun to play like he would. I pretended to call everyone dirty abominations, discussing glitches, and more. I got a little over excited, but it was really fun to act as EVIL and INSANELY cool.

Feels like it was written by a 12 year old tbh. At times it has interesting choice but right when you are starting to get comfortable and enjoy the story, bam! It hits you with the Goofy writing as if to ignore ever playing a serious villain, the story itself deeming it better for you to be a stereotypical 90's joke villian.

It was mediocre at best. The transitions were almost non-existent and the entire story was rushed. In my opinion it is wasted potential.

Good plot, but you get to read a lot and everything optional is lame or what the game wants. I looked at the icon of the game and thoght it was a good icon and the game was great, but I was super incorrect.

Cheesy and comical in all the right ways, especially with the option of a giant laser. You can never go wrong with a giant laser.

Great job creators! Pretty short, but I sure liked it... Also if there was no backstory I would have thought that this was a second chapter of Grand Academy for Future Villains...
