Does provide definitions. Doesn't work very well and especially not with other apps. Every time I open it on my phone and touch the search box, it brings up a list of words, but won't show the keyboard until I click on the search box in just the right place about 3 or 4 times. The 1 time I tried using it via Chrome on my phone to find a word's definition in an article I was reading, the app showed the word, BUT WOULDN’T LET ME RETURN TO THE APP I CAME FROM. THAT'S NOT A USABLE PAID APP! FIX IT!

It sometimes doesn't function properly and doesn't open any pages. When I click the icon, it tries to load but doesn't. It could be due to the apps that my S21+ puts to sleep. I do have a strong network connection and tried un-installing and reinstalling the app. Finally, just as I was almost hopeless and wanted to un-install the app, I accidentally touched the icon and it opened. It had happened before and when I uninstalled and reinstalled it, the problem was resolved.

The app has always been horribly slow at bringing up definitions, even with the offline dictionary downloaded. With today's update it won't bring up definitions at all, just the word page with definition placeholders. I can click the speaker icon and hear the pronunciation, but the app always crashes before displaying any definitions. I really wish the entire app was offline without all the pointless garbage ("features"). Googling a word is faster and better than this.

A useful app with room for improvement. It would be so much more useful if you could touch and hold any word in a definition and go to that word's definition. Sometimes the Word of the Day defines itself using other words with which I am unfamiliar. You can't highlight and copy words, so then you have to remember how to spell them and go look them up yourself

Best app ever! I use it daily & learn so many new words everyday. The word of the day is great, actually using unfamiliar words rather than boring ones that everyone already knows. I am rather annoyed that some words can't be saved tho & I really don't understand why. The thesaurus is nice, but I'd love it if they'd also create an associated words list, like how crossword puzzle dictionaries are. It'd also be helpful if they included picture examples to go along with some of the definitions.

After using and relying on this Premium app for many years, it now no longer works properly on my device (currently a Galaxy S10+). The app opens normally, the search page loads and responds when words are entered. But results are selectively grayed out. Have tried re-installing, looked for potential settings issues, etc, all to no avail. The app is behaving like it has been 'deprecated' by the developer, except there has been no communication to that effect.

New update in April 2022 now won't even fit on my pixel screen. The empty field is only half appearing at the top so I can't key in word. Once again I simply want a definition. Just like the last update I can't use dictionary. Com for what it's intended. Just looking up a word & getting the definition. I'm not interested in seeing the page dominated by a list of old words I already looked up. You've forgotten your main job.

Excellent go-to for quick definition. Lots of info, i.e. Thesaurus, origin, examples of usages, etc. Also has a whole host of English language trivia stuff and other good info related to words and language. 'Word-of-the-day' is a great way to expand your vocabulary as well. Premium is well worth the cost for expanded information.

Doesn't have a true offline mode. You can download the dictionary and set the app to always use the downloaded data but the app will still look for an internet connection and will not work, not even start, if wifi is connected. I fly a lot and it doesn't work when on airplane wifi. It seems the port used is not open, thus the app won't start and is useless. Must turn off wifi to get the app to start

I love it, it's the best. I think the developers need to add a connotation tab so, especially learners, can see if a word has a positive or negative meaning.

I can't seem to close app. Where is the exit? The only way I can get out is to leave it and go force close the in my phone's app info. Update: I fixed the problem I was having! Thank you to the devs for the reply I received here. I really enjoy this app and use it often.I like the extra things that it has for learning and challenging.

I am also having the problem of not being able to return to my browser after looking up a word. It's stuck in a loop and keeps bouncing back to the dictionary. I have to close both my browser and the dictionary, then try to find my article again. I reported this through the feedback feature by email on Jan 10 and again today before looking through the comments and finding at least two others having the problem.

Most of the sections keep loading forever... Emoji meanings, words trends, grammar tips all keep loading. Internet connection is working fine but not the app.

A very good dictionary and thesaurus offering pronunciation aid for a large number of words; check out invalid for an example of pronunciation differences with meaning (adj versus n). When trying thesaurus, check the definition of the synonyms as this provides curious subtleties.The app is maintained by very responsive developers, whom I urge to continue the good work. This multipurpose app is very well priced for your reading but also for writing letters, articles, essays and many more. Enjoy!

Offline mode is useless, since the meanings only load when connected to internet. And the search box is not calling the keyboard properly. We have to press it two times Update: that's obvious and didn't work anyway Edit: it's pretty obviou I have to download it, right? Your app is good but too buggy

This app will not let you leave and go back to the page where you highlighted the word you wanted to look up‼️‼️‼️‼️🤢🤢🤢 It literally 'glues' you to their app❓❓❓❓ Dictionary. com Premium is inexpensive and very very complete and informative. I have been using it on all my Samsung Galaxy Note Smartphones for years. It has improved 100% in all it's catogories/examples. And currently on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G w/OS 12 works perfectly with no glitches at all🤣👍❤️

This app teaches me new words with the word of the day notification. It is easy to navigate, gives American vs English difference and also plays the word for you for pronunciation. You can also save your favourite words and read interesting language articles.

best purchase ever. I use it all the time and all of the sub sections have been useful and helped a lot. I've learned so much from use this app.

a good app but there is no option to sync the account on multiple devices. If I favorite a word on a desktop , it should also appear on my other devices, or if I change a phone all my favorite words or history is gone since there is no sync option. There is should be a sign in option that can sync on all platforms and multiple devices.

I enjoy the "word a day" however this app gives me double notifications for it every morning. A little bit annoying.

this app has great UI. it's really simple to use. it has lots ofoptions to tweak things the way you want. The thesaurus has been invaluable which also has smooth UI.

I can't get back to the browser when I leave the app. I always have to close both the app and the browser then reopen. I used to be able to go back directly with no problem. This new way is tedious and discouraging 😞

The best. Awesome setup. I love the audio. Also, the daily new word is great. Gee, if enough do do this we could eliminate the limited vocabulary of most people! Stay the course!

Most recent update broke it. It display gray bars instead of text. Quality control?

When you first open the app, I have a hard time getting the keyboard to pop up. So frustrating, I have to tap multiple times on "let's find your word" field to get keyboard to show up.

You can add grammar section by chapter wise. Then it'll be a complete all-in-one study material I think.

The Premium Version of this app, had been a vital and awesome tool in the past, however, a great deal of the recent changes deplete its quality tremendously. Most annoyingly, all entries now seem to be images, rather than text. This format prevents simple copy/paste of the information present. The setup also causes many of the definitions to appear distorted, having the aspect ratio of the photo compressed to the bottom of the frame, in dictionary entries, as well as the thesaurus. Please Fix

It is a great dictionary. My favorite thing is the learning section of any word you lookup. it explains in layman's terms what it means when you use that word! I wish your saved words (stared words) could transfer from device to device. Unfortunately that has not been updated. Once that becomes a feature, then I'll give it 10 stars 🌟 🤩 ✨

The PAID version of the app insists I'm offline, even though I have downloaded the offline database, and I do have a connection

I've been using it for several years now. I love that I can save my favourite words, and that there's even a quiz I can play based off my favourites list!
