Dig-The Dog Person's Dating App
There’s more to compatibility than just checking off whether you’re a “dog owner” or a “dog lover.” Not all dogs get along. So, you can decide if you want to find someone currently with or without a dog, and you can filter by dog size. Then, Dig will present you with 5 of the best potential dates for you every day. You can look through all 5 profiles before deciding who you “dig,” “really dig,” or “pass” on each day.
Once two people “dig” each other, Dig helps you find a date idea. A “dog-friendly locations near you” search feature is built into the messaging area. The app also features daily “tips and tricks of the day” from experts such as vets and trainers as well as “daily deals” from pet businesses.
All dogs featured on Dig are available for adoption or were at the time of posting.
Dog people are always looking for ways to get dogs in their lives. You’ll linger near the dog park’s fence, you’ll repeatedly offer to dog-sit while your friends are away, and you’ll scan every dating app for photos of potential matches with dogs at their sides.

Much better after the update, but it is crashing a lot when browsing profiles. Also, can you please add more distance filters? Going from 20 miles to the entire world is a massive jump. How about adding 50, 100, and 500 miles please? Or a sliding scale from 1 to 10k miles would be even better. Anyways, a good dog-based dating app overall. Hopefully there will be more users soon. Keep advertising! Thank you.
I adore the concept and the app seems to have the bugs worked out that previous reviewers were experiencing. BUT, the first four matches that messaged me were fake profiles (I did a reverse image search and easily found the real identities.) I reported the profiles, but if this continues, I will have to delete the app. Update: After using this app a couple of months, there were just too many fake profiles to weed through. Uninstalling.
A great idea that is very poorly utilized. Set distance to less than 20 miles and I still see people 40 miles away. Also the profile pictures of most members are a waste of time. There are lots of dog pics, but very few pics of real people, and most profiles have nothing written in the Bios. I live in SoCal and I ran out of matching profiles in less than 20 minutes, which speaks to how few people use this app. Don't waste your time.
Was super stoked until I actually started "digging in".... or rather attempted to. The bio section is stupid short - you can barely get in a few sentences! You can't really view people's profiles much less message them. This app is an AWESOME idea but I think you guys need to spend a lot more time building on it than you have already.
I had great hopes for this app but everyone is over 1000 miles away from my area. I'm not sure if I ever matched with anyone. The app doesn't tell you what area a person is located in. I travel alot and these apps could make a great way to meet new people but if they can't provide a location then its pointless.
The concept is a good one and I had really high hopes for this...obviously being a dog lover is extremely important, but it's not the sole requirement to making a good match with someone...more basic information about each match and the kind of match they're looking for should be provided...I don't understand why there is a limit to the number of people you can view. Overall it feels like this app is motivated simply by download numbers instead of wanting to help people find love.
I think this is cute and easy to use! Not sure if its just my device though, but sometimes the loading can a while and I'd have to re-open the app. Wish there were more search options too; for someone who lives in Texas, 50miles out isn't really going to cover a lot.
Cute idea but was showing me people incredibly far away that were 18 or 50. I changed settings to 29-38 to better reflect my age, but even though it save the app doesn't update your results, still showing the same old and young people. Would be cool if actually worked or had people. I live in Manhattan not like I live in middle of nowhere.
Good idea bad execution. I had high hopes for this one, there isn't much profile wise to see if I'll match. To do anything in this app you have to pay for it. It also wouldn't let me change my age preference I kept trying to get rid of 18 to 29 but it would always reapplying it. I don't need notification for when someone looks at my profile that's insane. Then people outside my criteria were allowed to message me and see my profile no thank you. Try looking at other apps to see where to improve.
Cute app for dog lovers. But, you only get 5 matches a day and 2 are ads. They need to expand the search miles. 20 miles to everywhere is ridiculous. Doesn't seem like there are too.many matches in my area. However, the app is pretty new and I'm sure they are tweaking it. (One of the ads said there is a launch for it this week.) More people will join. If anything, download it and check on it in a few months.
Absolutely Horrible! So I created a profile on this app. Went through the whole process and confirmed my email and everything. I closed the app without logging out to go walk my pup. I come back and see a notification from the app. I try to check it, and it takes me back to the starting point. Says I have to create a new profile, my email that I used is now taken so I can't use it again, and I can't check any notifications I received from the app. Is not worth the time and effort!
Great concept, but this app is not great. You can have unlimited photos, but only 200 characters to explain yourself. There are not enough people using it, so you run out of people to match quick. Not enough information is asked to find good matches. Have to pay for a subscription to properly use it.
**THIS APP HASN'T BEEN UPDATED SINCE 2019** Complete waste of time, I performed an _experiment since I wasn't getting any matches. It took 2 weeks for me to be presented with the person I previously "dug." Not a large pool of potential matches. I thought this would be a nice way to match up, if someone put some time and energy into this concept it could be successful. *Uninstalling
Kept telling me I was temporarily deactivated until I uploaded a picture of a dog. I uploaded several pictures of my dog, one picture had 3 dogs in it and the app would not recognize them as dogs. I was never able to use the app, as it apparently had difficulty detecting what a dog looks like. I see this as a bit of a problem, since the premise of the app partially revolves around owning dogs!!
Cool concept for a dating app. Only problem I'm having is the location services. I changed it to 10miles < and saved my preferences, but it doesn't change the location of the matches.
The filters are horrible...range too short for large metros (50 mile or then global) and it only shows 4 or 5 at a time and then you have to redo the search and hope for new people if you didnt like the 1st 5 Was really hopeful but dig left me howling at the moon in frustration.
I was really excited when I heard about this app when I was watching the Beverly Hills Dog Show and immediately downloaded it. Only to be saddened to find that I've tried to set up my profile about 5 times already and every time, the app crashes and I have to restart it and create it all over again. Please fix this so I can try out this app. It's a shame really. 😔
Terrible terrible app, keeps asking for permissions you already gave, boots you out of your account and says there's no account to the registered phone number, eternal loading and when it loads, it's slow and now it has my information and my dog's picture and I can't even load the app and delete my account. Can not recommend this over walking your dog to the nearest park.
it pretty much sucks it only lets u view 5 "profiles" in 24 hrs but 2 out of the 5 profiles are ads. the concept is cute but there really shouldn't be a limit on how many profiles u can see in a day. Also the location feature isn't updating it keeps showing me profiles that are thousands of miles away.
The idea of this is super cute and I love it. But i ve been on for a couple of days and havent gotten a single match? I'm either really ugly or somethings wrong with the matching system. I would suggest allowing you to message people despite matching, just to get the connect out there.
Requires location services to work. I have that turned on, hutbthe app doesn't seem to know I clicked "Turn on location services" and the cursor just spins and spins. The app never finishes loading.
Just joined so matching commentary is limited. But the photo flagging AI needs glasses, it has flagged two photos I tried adding for either not having me or my dog in them depending on which photo section I tried adding them to. The kicker? Both photos have both ne AND my dog in them..
Too expensive for the population and features. Customer service is useless. Mostly fake profiles and trial "Yappy Hour" is advertised as free messaging, but doesn't allow you to message anyone. Don't waste your time.
The options are very limited and I never get any matches. My friend set up my dog on her phone and has been a month. No matches and she's a happy outgoing beautiful dog. Not a fan, the app could improve.
Not terrible. The only thing I would change is the distance thing. It's either "under 50 miles" or "anywhere". Need to be able to set more specific distances after 50
All recent reviews one star, yea there's a reason!! Never even got past the sign up screen it just kept saying loading. Closed it same thing. Uninstalled reinstalled same freaking thing. App sucks can't even open it so that's pretty dang bad
You only get to select from 1 to 3 people every 24 hours. it will say 5 but 2 to 3 of those are just ads. Love the idea but terribly executed. would not recommend unless they make some serious changes
You have to pay for literally everything and the interface is atrocious. I didn't bother spending the time figuring out the app because I'm not going to pay to message people. Also, was hoping for some cute dog pics but seems other people don't want to waste their time on this app either because there are none.
I have 3 dogs, but apparently my very obviously dog pictures were flagged as not pictures of dogs and my account suspended. I repeatedly tried to replace them, but the app just kept the same pics. It seemed to be frozen with no option to go back to the home page.
I downloaded the app and created an account. After editing my setting preferences, I went to scroll through matches profiles. However; I couldn't reach that point because it was having difficulty loading and the app kept closing on its own.
