How do I log in with the DigiD app?
Logging in with the DigiD app is possible in two ways:

1. On your telephone or tablet, log in with just a pin code.
2. Or log on to the computer via the app. Then you first enter a pairing code, scan a QR code and enter your PIN code.

DATA PROCESSING & PRIVACY

The DigiD app processes the IP address, name and version of the operating system of your smartphone or tablet, the unique feature of the mobile device, your mobile phone number and the 5-digit PIN code you choose.

By downloading and using the DigiD app you agree to this processing, which also applies to the following provisions.

1. The personal data of the user are processed in accordance with the applicable privacy legislation. In the privacy statement you will find who is responsible for the processing of the personal data for DigiD, which personal data of the user of DigiD are processed and for what purpose this happens (https://www.digid.nl/privacyverklaring). The processing of personal data by DigiD and rules on the operation, security and reliability of DigiD are included in legislation and regulations (https://www.digid.nl/wet-en-regelgeving).
2. Logius has taken appropriate technical and organizational security measures against loss or unlawful processing of the user's personal data.
3. The DigiD app complies with security measures that are comparable to the security measures of DigiD. DigiD also uses the safety mechanisms of the operating system.
4. The user is responsible for the security of his mobile device.
5. For the DigiD app, updates can be downloaded and installed automatically from the app store from time to time. These updates are intended to improve, expand or further develop the DigiD app and can consist of solutions for programming errors, advanced functions, new software modules or completely new versions. Without these updates it is possible that the DigiD app does not work or does not function properly.
6. Logius reserves the right to (temporarily) stop the offering of the DigiD app in the app store or the operation of the DigiD app without stating reasons.

it used to work fine, but now it is almost impossible to get a koppelcode to open a website on a laptop. The first page gets stuck. The only solution is to consult the website on the mobile, so that the koppelcode is not necessary. Very problematic, since this is the go-to app to access all important websites in NL.

My browser is set to dark mode. App cant scan QR codes in darkmode. It needs a white frame around the code. This could easily be solved.... For now the app offers too few benefits and using it is cumbersome.

I cannot use this app at all. It makes everything more difficult. For me it is useless. I cannot activate the app on my phone because they cannot find my Thai adress in the official BRP registers for Dutch people living abroad. While the SVB for my monthly aow payments has verified it already for years. Also the Digi-D Rijksoverheid site on my PC uses my Thai address for many years. I am registrated at the RNI in NL. The mobile app refuse my activation anyway. Why??

It generally works fine and is very useful in the Netherlands, but it's absolutely terrible if you ever need to use it while travelling abroad (nothing works, you can't get required updates, etc). Please change the configurations to allow for this to work abroad too!

I rarely rate apps, but this one frustrated me enough. I tried to activate it. First, it doesn't work with my password manager, so I had to type the long password manually. Then it asks to scan my id. This failed and i had to restart the process. It failed 2 times more, so i had to enter password 4 times. I waited on the id scanning long enough and it gave me the option to activate with sms. I receive the sms, open it to read the numbers, when i go back do DigiD it starts the process again.....

So I've been told that the residency permit card has never been able to be scanned properly using the DigiD ID Check. This seems plausible, given that I have a pretty new Samsung S20 and I just got a new residence permit in December 2021. This combination also does not work, it still tells me the scan is unsuccessful. I've heard that the Dutch drivers license works, but only if you have one from 2014 and newer. Mine is from 2013... Fix the ID check so it works with verblijfstitel!

Since recently, when I open the app, I get a message that there have been more than 15 minutes of screen inactivity and I have to log in again. I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times now and it does the same every time. Frustrating!

I couldn't even activate it. It did not ask me to create the login and password when I applied for it, and after I'd gotten the activation code I had to type in login and password to log in. This is a joke! I waited 5 days to receive the code and now I have to use only antigen tests to check if I have Covid. As always government fails to create the app that works.

I used to love this app, and how easy it was to log into everything, but since a week or two I have not been able to use it anymore, everytime I choose this app as a log in method on a website it redirects me to another page that says I need to download the app, whereas it used to just open the app and voila.. oh well, guess I'll just have to log in to everything manually.

The rework on this app is amazing well done you should be proud. Developer myself, nowadays this app works very well on all kind of devices young and old. In the past this was not the case, performance improved alot as well. Great that you implemented the qr mechanism.

Works very well. "Koppelcode" is only needed when using the device to do two factor on another governmental website; if browsing on the same device, the app integrates seamlessly. No problems with QR scanning (theme on the PC?). My only issue is a (known) bug that it's impossible to change the email address when logged in via the app, which makes me VERY reluctant to set "always use the app", defying a bit the real two factor security.

Terrible app. It feels more and more forced onto Dutch people. You MUST use this app to be able to log into your health enssurance or request something at the CBR. Yet I can't log into the app because each time it crashes when I try to scan my ID card with NFC. And then I got to wait several minutes to try again... I tried 10+ times. Still won't work. I tried scanning with nfc on other apps. Works fine. So it's not my phone or the ID card. It's the app that's broken.

I have activated an app last year in November and yet I have been unable to use it for the whole year. For some reason it thinks I own two identical phones and states so on the website. After trying to reset my phone data I've even lost my pin. I am shocked that a "developed" country's government app can be so inaccessible.

Trash app that hardly ever works correctly. I hope it will be replaced by something proper in the near future. Edit- your response is as bad as the login methods THAT DONT WORK. SMS is the only option and it always forgets the main device so it's BAD and mostly a waste of time. If the app didn't exist, I'd still have the SMS option. Trash!

Completely useless. QR reader distorts the camera so it can't read any QR codes. Other apps on my phone that use QR readers don't have this issue. This is an official government app, how can you not get the basics right? This has failed on two different phones for me on different Android versions, so it's not a problem on my end. Please fix this!!

Latest Digid update results in the following output: "Unsuccessful, you are not logged in (Timeout). Previous version worked without any issues.
