Recent updates turn the app off leaving the device unprotected. This should never happen. Wifi security does not always turn on and stay on. I've had to uninstall/reinstall a few times for that. UNSATISFACTORY --- The app, when it works, does good. But when you leave you wifi, restart your phone, or just walk outside and go to 4G, it stops secure wifi. Have to reconnect manually. I've sent email to the support address, crickets. This is a service I pay for...maybe not for long...
I put some malware apps to the test. I wanted to see if Digital Secure would pick it up, which it did. When you download an apk file from a third-party source, it detects whether it is good or harmful automatically. I'll absolutely keep using it and ensuring sure dangerous applications don't get into my backups in the future.
Updated as instructed, was told to turn something off in settings, instruction flashed off and no access to history of or adjustments to updates or any type of information. Contact with Verizon suppor yielded no help, or knowledge of the app software at. 0 stars if allowed to post that way. After 2 years of this app I have yet to see it work correctly beyond being able to manually press a scan button occasionally and get an "all clear" notice with no indication any activity . App seems useless.
I too are experiencing the same exact problem with Secure Digital and its annoying. I am paying for service that is sub-standard.. Someone needs to check the updates for flaws in software updates. This ap is suppose to check and secure online activity but it never fully connects. I tried everything from remove and adding back.. Just really disappointed now..
Update: The developers have noted that they are working on a fix for this problem. The app keeps telling me that the permissions need to be updated, but the one it requests is grayed out which won't allow me to change as per requested. Why even bother if it will not allow for the change? Please add ad blocking.
Was great at first but my safe wifi isn't working at all. I contacted an agent and they replied with common practice for upkeeping internet/data also protection methods. I already know how to do that, I want the extra reassurance of a safe connection. My issue was never resolved and safe wifi keeps saying no connection (when I'm connected). Tried that they just gave me advice and didn't answer or correct issue
Seems to not do much of anything but devour the battery overnight. Every night while the phone is not being used, it eats 30%-40% of the battery and also makes the phone LAG! Also that one permission can't be enabled. It's grayed out like many others have mentioned (all these months and STILL no fix?). Just going to disable this for now til VZW decides they'll actually FIX something. Maybe that's a good thing since McCrapee are the original devs for this.
I would give it 5 stars if the VPN would automatically start up without my having to make a macro. Also failed to detect fake system apps on my lab phone. The security report is good, but for the price this app is not competitive with other VPN and security providers. It tends to be ok with bloatware. I have yet to use security expert so can't comment there.
I am paying for the full functionality of this app and it has been nothing but problems... Every time I contact Verizon support, it can take hours for Verizon to diagnose, tunnel in, etc... This has been repeatedly and Painfully time consuming... emailed "digital secure" and have heard nothing for days now... Same response here - already tried that and IT TOOK HOURS!!!!! UPDATE 04-24-22: This app is an unreliable mess and I feel anything but "secure"... I called, made it worse...HELP!
Since the latest update on March 7th, the Safe Wi-Fi feature STOPPED FUNCTIONING. I try to turn it on manually, and it just spins like it's trying to connect, but NEVER does. I am paying for this feature, and would like to get what I'm paying for. FIX IT PLEASE!!
So tired of this app, safe wi fi keeps turning it's self off! Continually having to turn it back on. So I have been having continued trouble, reached out to costomer service, they dirrected me to McAfee the app developers, there seems to be an issue with the last update. Waiting for a fix for that.
Set update & scan function to automatic. It usually updates but most often the scan starts but the report doesn't show if/when it ended. Seems very unreliable that's why I cancelled the paid subscription & installed another security system that has an entire package including VPN!
So I was supposed to be able to use this feature do to the fact I pay for insurance on my phone... I have talked to Verizon help and they were unable help me add more devices (laptop) I keep getting a triangle with exclamation point. So useless.
It no longer works since the last update, when it's doing a check. It will get to 90% and never finish. It's been on 90% for 3 days. I've done all the steps in restarting the app, force stopping it, and everything else. Nothing is fixing it.
Turns off. Does not protect 24hours/7days. It does not automatically secure wifi connections. Also disruption of internet connection when it does turn on for 30 minutes to couple of hours.
I keep getting a duplicate app download leaving me with two digital secure(DS) apps. I also noticed an increase in scams on my phone or my other apps will abruptly close out and malfunction since enabling the DS app. I think Verizon has a hacker that is using these in house apps to mess/steal peoples info.
I'm afraid to use this after reading reviews for several minutes. All had replies to contact support. I stick with MW bytes for now. Read up more. As a security person this is like mcafee-esque protection overkill. If the VPN was really that important the rest is odd on a secure biometric phone that encrypts itself early on in the boot...am I getting mixed messages on an s22? Yes.. just let me pick my perfect password (verizon is broken) & whitelist and good toons 🎶 🎸 🐦 👧
1. Does not warn you when coverage is lost. 2. Coverage stops for no reason. 3. Many times it just spins. 4. Multiple times when connected to comcast wifi it says I am not connected to wifi
3/23/22 STILL NOT WORKING!!!!, Keeps turning off WiFi protection..can't get it to work properly, still a BIG problem. TALKING TO A TECH VIA CHAT Is difficult. I TALKED WITH MCAFEE AND IT WAS SOLVED MOMENTARILY. I reinstalled and had WIFI TURN OFF WHILE I was in an online course where my personal info could've been hacked again.
After a great deal of elapsed silence from Digital Secure, I finally get a terse reply: We are aware of this issue and are working with Verizon to correct it. Maybe in the form of a software update. Well, I got the software update, but not a working digital secure. No time frame, no work-around, no "we're sorry.." ZIP. If there was a way to rate it -5☆ I would!!! Edit23Feb22 STILL NOT WORKING! It seems to have deactivated itself probably after updating. I just got a notification you can still protect .. activate now. It is activated so something is wrong. It used to notify often of apps storage and want me to clear the app caches and now that doesn't notify either
STILL not working correctly! Removed plan I had then was assured latest update fixed problems. Guess what! Now looks like features that haphazardly worked now don't! Many areas grayed out and I know darn well I opted for the best premium security coverage. Well, am paying for it anyway. And, now the My Verizon app is all askew as well. Has me doubly enrolled in 2 different tiers with both lines. Come on let me pay off these phones so I can say goodbye to this company!!!
I'd give 5 stars IF they were consistent with reporting activities to the 3 credit bureaus! They haven't reported my activity to experian since 2/28/22,, today is Easter Sunday so nearly two months!! On a huge upside, Sable upgraded me from secured to unsecured with 500 dollars credit line in less than 6 months&instantly returned my deposit!! Definitely try them if your considering to do so!!
I don't like that this is the only way to get total protection for multiple devices and that this app is part of a monthly service. I would prefer using another third party antimalware. It also does not support older devices unlike the third part app I prefer.
To put it plainly, it just doesn't work. I keep getting spam texts (which I report every time).When I run a scan through this app, it finds nothing. Straight garbage!
This is absolutely sad every time I have tried to open this app on my Verizon phone it has crashed and every time I have uninstalled and reinstalled it it's done the same thing and nothing has changed I don't feel safe at all with this app on my phone I reached out to tech support and now digital secure scan function does not work
i wish i could give 0 or negative stars. customer support has no idea what's going on with this app. this app caused me to lose everything on my phone and customer support refused to take responsibility. it crashes all the time, it is more of a headache than help, and if you have this app it spies on you and someone can see exactly what's on your screen.
Nice app. Although I can't change where I want my VPN connection to be. It's still awesome as it gives me protection when I connect to public Wi-Fi. It also has a virus checker in the app so that is cool. The app also has identification theft protection and a security advisor. It's a good app and works well. But I do wish I had the ability to set where I want my VPN connection. I really can't complain as I have Verizon and it came with my phone plan. And it was at no additional charge.
My phone sits on my desk doing nothing and on extended battery saver mode, it hardly ever used up any juice in a day, maybe 2 percent at best on a normal day. This app today chewed up 35% of the charge just sitting there. I never recall this app being in use before and if it did it never ate up the battery like that. Is this even necessary because if not I don't see the use in something that's a battery killer.
Safe WiFi disconnects on its own continuously. Prior to the last couple of updates, it would stay connected unless I turned it off or I left a WiFi area. Now, it chooses when it works and when it doesn't. I haven't designated any networks for it not to connect, so it shouldn't have this issue. Very aggravating. Sent an email regarding this issue on 4/28/22 and STILL no reply. On 5/9, received a reply asking what my concerns were and I replied again with the same issue.
