Extremely useful. If you don't know where your local TV transmission towers are, you will waste time orienting your antenna to get a nice signal. The finder is GREAT! I recommend an OUTSIDE antenna of some kind, set up as high as possible & as clear of obstruction as possible. With HDTV, of course, gone are the days of picking up an out of town "snowy" analog picture, passably watchable. Now it's just glitch after glitch, all or nothing. The finder can help avoid that.
This app saved the day for me. Was trying to watch one of the biggest college football games of the season when cable went out. I connected my HD antenna and kept pointing it to where I thought was the logical direction to get the station but it wouldn't work. I found this app and it indicated an alternative direction which was totally accurate. I'm a fan.
Excellent App for antenna alignment. My only slight criticism, is that before the updated version of the app, it just showed the nearest main TV transmitters, now it shows all the relays as well, and living in London region, there are an awful lot of them within a 30 mile radius. Please provide an option for us to choose to just show only main transmitters or all tv transmitters, including the relays.
Fantastic. It worked perfectly. Sat phone on Ariel, lined it with arrow, and 85 channels. Brilliant as i was in loft space. Easy to use and no excessive Tecno babble, which can make apps like this to difficult to use. I would highly recommend this app. Update. I have changed my mind. We moved house, so I downloaded app again. Disappointed beyond belief. It keeps crashing, arrow doesn't move. It is now completely useless. Something has messed up the app, since android 8.
I never leave reviews, but was inspired to do so for this app since it was just so simple to use and perfectly designed. You just tell the app where you are and it shows you which way to point your antenna to reach the nearby towers using a simple arrow. When you're hanging on to your chimney 30 feet off the ground trying to point an antenna, ease of use is very much appreciated. Excellent app!!!
This worked a treat for fitting an aerial in the attic, it points out all nearby transmitters & ditance from, so not just the obvious of the direction of other nearby aerials. Line the aerial up with the arrow on screen & that's all there is to it. The app contains ads, not too annoying but for the price & to be fair to the developer, I'm going to buy it, even though I may not be using it that much.
I think I installed every app out there to help me align my antenna, even the "name brand" apps like the one from antennas direct, this is by far the best one. Simply put it in front of you antenna and turn then until the arrows are all pointing in the right direction (this will make more sense when you use it). As with all the apps, make sure your compass is calibrated.
I put two 60 mile antennas inside my attic, because there are two clusters of broadcasts in different directions. Due to the accuracy of this app, I set them up, left all my tools and supplies in the attic, so I could go check the TV's and come back and move or adjust everything. Once I checked, I was annoyed that I didn't bring everything down when I came the first time! 10 miles south of Richmond, VA, I now have 35 channels- on the first attempt!
Excellent, easy to understand. I thought I was just going to experiment with moving the antenna a few degrees at a time, then rescan for channels with the TV. I'm pretty well spoiled to Netflix and Amazon streaming, but there are times I'd like to see regular broadcast TV. I am located in a very rural area with lots of tall trees, but the house had a tall antenna tower with electric rotor system when we purchased. What was going to take all day or longer will now be possible in an hour! Having the degrees and the channel numbers to plug in is awesome!
This app is well done. For many of those people who do not have cable, it's extremely handy, and helpful. Being able to know where all the channels are and able to move around with phone/tablet and the app automatically tells you what stations are in that direction, how many miles, etc. So if you're one of those people trying to adjust a antennae, this app does the job perfectly to know where to put it 👍 up for the thought and creation to developer!Being able to WATCH T.V that wld add icing 2it
Excellent app for those who want to kick the cable. I live in a remote area and have two antenns in my attic on rotors. This app helps me to maximize my efficiency. I'm tuning in 54 stations and have more alternatives if I re-aim the antennas. But current setup gives most stations with current settings. Great app, would highly recommend!!!
The app has been helpful locating area stations. It been a few months since we've been RV'ing so i am actually trying it again as i write this review. Our channel scan picked up 18 digital stations. By repositioning the aentenna in the directions indicated i was able to get better reception as opposed to just randomly looking. Im not sure what if anything would improve the app since im not familiar with how it locates signals. I do believe its worth checking out.
Latest version works great. Some distant stations also have repeater towers to expand their coverage area. This app is aware of them and displays additional channels I can easily view by point at the repeater tower for the station. Most repeater towers are in a different direction than the distant main tower. Most other apps only point you to the main tower which is usually too far away which limits your channel selection. GREAT JOB!
I think this app is cool and very useful. I can see room for improvements.. but I will play around with it so I can better describe and let you know. I would like to be in contact with you so that I could help you improve on what you've already done. Great job!! I've been using digital broadcast TV since Obama made TV broadcasters put out these signals.
Easy to use, multiple methods to find local antennas. Very helpful to properly adjust my home antenna for best reception, and lets me know how far the towers are from my house. The only improvement could be signal strength, but I'm not sure how it can be done. Hopefully, the developer can implement this.
Very, very handy tool for aligning your TV Antenna to the Transmitter. Perfect for when when you cannot physically eyeball the transmitter tower. Use the built-in map and clever beam lines to put your antenna very close to "on the beam" with the transmitter, and then tweak the antenna's orientation to max out your signal. Simple, Done. (Prevents repeated trips up a ladder to align your antenna, could potentially save your life !).
Nice app. My only issue would be with the "compass" that shows the direction of the tower. When I touch a specific tower and try to hold the phone still, I occasionally get a spinning of the directional arrow. Usually with persistence, this is not a major flaw. Definitely a helpful app.
I feel like this could be a great app, but it is inaccurate. I've used G'gle maps to calibrate compass, I have a compass app also, and a real life compass as well. The app points in the wrong direction all the time; not by much, but enough that someone 60 miles away from a tower might have issues. My tower is 199 and it points 215 ALWAYS. It's noticeably off to the right, because I know the phone's geomagnetometer is fine. No magnetic interference. Maybe no one notices, but the problem is real.
thid platform is very simple in structure... simple menu...simple but accurate maps and very easy to navigate! This app is actually quite efficient in responce to end-user input...no lag time! Excellent work putting this software app together! May i suggest (if youve not already) creating an app for 'building your own antenna(s)'... you know, the how to's, and picking the correct type of antenna design, and maybe some blueprints/measurements , materials needed lists, install/setup basics ? 😎
A great app that has really helped me to get a better reception on my caravan TV. I like it that the app shows the 3 best choices in which direction to point your antenna and gives the distance to the transmitter too. It was a pleasure to upgrade the app and give the developer something back for his time and effort.
With my tablet, which has no compass, this app gives data needed to locate the transmitter tower direction. With my phone, which has the compass feature, the app points correctly, and is extreamly useful with both, my tablet and phone. I've gone through several apps before deciding that this is the best one for me.
Very helpful in positioning an antenna. Weather installing a new or improving reception on an existing one. Easy to use, easy to read. At first I didn't see my favorite channel, then I noticed some towers have more than one channel and saw my favorite was included on another channels tower as well as another one too. I really appreciate your app as it makes pointing my antenna way quicker and therefore letting me (scared of heights) climb down way faster. I give it 5 stars plus two thumbs up.
