How to use oesterreich.gv.at:
1. Download the app "Digital Office" for free.
2. Log in with your mobile phone signature. If you do not have a mobile signature yet, please follow the instructions within the app.
3. After successful registration with your mobile phone signature, you can fully enjoy all the advantages of the "Digital Office".
Important functions:
● See all online information on citizen services and public administration information at a glance.
● Use the cross-platform search (including RIS - Legal Information System, Data.gv.at, USP - Corporate Service Portal) for all administration topics.
● Conduct selected official travel conveniently online (for example, applying for a card, registration and deregistration, primary residence, digital baby point)
● Keep up to date with the latest news on digitization
● Use the chatbot for questions
● Create your personal profile and benefit from customized information
● Use the secure login via mobile phone signature
● Receive your authority letters digitally
Digital Citizen Services:
● Digital baby point
○ Provide a personalized checklist of all relevant steps from pregnancy to birth and beyond.
○ First issuing certificates for newborns (birth certificate, proof of citizenship, confirmation of report)

Extremely complicated, really bad UX, linking via the QR code didn't work at first (you must not omit the www in the web address). It feels like the people who develop this app and the related services have no idea about app development (or any software development for that matter). Using this app feels horrible. Oh, and having to scan your fingerprint a million times doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the app or the security of the service.
This App is totally unusable as it requires an unlocked bootloader and the mandatory use of a fingerprint reader. Dear application developers, please understand that my device is my property and it is my right to use the device with an unlocked bootloader and root access if I choose to do so. I addition I will never use any application that forces a biometric identification. Fingerprint readers has been proven various times to be insecure and in addition biometric characteristics can not be changed if they have been compromised. I would like to ask you to reconsider your application strategy.
I am sorry, but the app is useless as even simple tasks require an additional computer. It's highly unprofessional and not even a "real" app as they simply run a webkit and render the web page. The Austrian chancellor advertises this failure as success and simply shows poor judgement.
It's all waaay too complicated. You have to activate fingerprint security, scan a QR code with another device and I'm not even done yet - and fun fact: I just need the app because it does not work on my computer. Please improve these servcies asap!
The user is in a wheel constantly - the handy signature and fingerprint is needed for next to each step. Why is a one time handy signature + fingerprint not sufficient? More of the same does not provide any additional security.
App does not work after the update from Android 11 to 12. Needed to purge and reconnect via the website running on another device. Is this a joke? And you want me to trust you with my digital ID?
Requires enabling fingerprint authentication. If my bank apps don't need it to be secure, you don't either.
There should be English available for such apps as it's not the Austrians who live in Austria but also people from tens of different countries and linguistically diverse groups
Useless, requires fingerprint to activate which i dont have on my device and I just wanted to activate it with the qr code they gave me..
Crashes as soon "Handy-Signature" is requested for authentification. I do nit know why this app is advertised with tax money in this quality. Please finish it first
does not work. keeps telling me to enable face recognition although it is enabled for my phone...
"bitte aktivieren Sie die Authentifizierung mittels Gesichtserkennung auf diesem gerät" device does not have facial recognition feature, and so the app fails, falling flat on its face. Literally completely useless

Super toll!
Very disappointing instantiation of what is a good idea. Extremely buggy and almost impossible to configure without not only failing but taking other apps down with it. In my case, configuring this app failed and I ended up having to reinstall the Digital Signature App — that in itself a process which would stand some streamlining. Please do better, then the web version of this app has been a useful tool for some years now.
