This browser is a step backwards from what digo can do. Rather than improving upon previous versions of the Windows model it tries to become its own browser rather than leverage the features Google and Google Chrome already have. This is an unintelligent move. As a result you end up with a poorer browser with less features rather than building on a good foundation. Features that this app needs such as more highlighting colours and better ways to annotate have been utterly ignored.

Have been using Diigo for a number of years. The website is great (however, the previous version was better - loads faster, less fluff). The app is a strange thing. While it provides a way to conveniently add bookmarks on mobile devices, it doesn't sync to your bookmark library. Whenever you go into Diigo app, you see lots and lots of old bookmarks you already deleted on the web library. It's rather annoying. I'd have given Diigo 4 stars if no for this problem.

The idea is brilliant and the link library is essential to me. But the mobile app is useless - opens as web browser where the library browser would make sense, when a link from the library is open the list gets closed and must be manually opened and searched through again, tag/label list does not provide suggestions or search. The only useful app function is its presence in the "share to" when browsing the web... What a lost opportunity.

For some reason the functionality of this app was recently changed to be primarily a web browser, and a Chromium reskin at that, with God-knows what kind of trackers and telemetry included. It's no longer useful as a mobile interface to your bookmarks library - you can't even edit searched-for bookmarks anymore. Thankfully your library can be exported, for migration to a more useful solution. I had to uninstall.

Used to be great, now mediocre. Sometimes I have to reload a webpage many times before the app displays my highlights or lets me make new ones. Sometimes I actually have to switch from my Android phone to my iPad to do any highlighting. It used to be possible on Android to make highlights directly from Chrome but now you have leave Chrome, open the diigo app and then open the webpage, so it's brutally slow and needlessly complicated.

The new version (integrated into Diigo browser) is no good solution. I needed 1 single touch to access my bookmarks before, now I need to tap 3 times, makes it slower and more inconvenient for me. In German there is the word "verschlimmbessern" for that: to make something worse with so-called improvements. I use Diigo to quickly access my bookmarks, not for some browser experience. You should leave the option to access bookmarks with just one tap, like before. So, no Premium until you fix this.

It's clunky and does not sync very well, browse very well or allow me to edit my bookmarks. Saving bookmarks from phone works fine. I've been using Diigo on a PC for ages, but the app seems to be developed for a captive audience in mind. Don't just stand there, do something!

I never write reviews, but I'm just pissed off that this app has been destroyed since the last update. It's been rendered useless. We are now forced to view saved links in a crappy and unprotected version of chromium. No more clean view stripping articles of the noise of the original browser page. There doesn't appear to be a way to open the app to the user library by default. And what is up with requesting access to my google account? A very disappointing development. Back to Pocket. :(

I love Diigo as a bookmarking and annotation service. I like being able to share to the app from any other app I'm in. I have no interest in Diigo as a browser. I have a better browser already. So the fact that the default page is now the browser and not access to my bookmarks, and there doesn't seem to be a way to switch back, is annoying.

The only good it's the idea... The mobile app don't open the Library collapse and Kik you out... The browser, it's a mask on Chrome but make everything more difficult... Work like a new browser. I don't need more. The Computer App work well, difficult to get your work done but it's amazing highlight and capture text. Has a lot of potential, really good future but the upgrade it's absolutely!!! Necessary if you add AI over text, images and tag... Bingo!!! And sell to a big player For $$$.$$$.$$$

I've been using Diigo for years as a way to centralize my bookmarks across browsers and devices. It's very good, and it's never really gotten in my face about premium features. I only wish I could set the app to open with the library immediately in focus instead of on a wannabe-browser homepage.

This app is phenomenal. I've never used it before and I didn't really want another browser so I can understand the woes of others, but I can see the logic of it for phone/tablet. On the PC I just use the plugin of course. Right now I am super happy with Diigo as a new user. The addition I would like is better tagging. Can't tag a note, and if entering #tag in note then search won't find it. Also, can only tag a webpage if you simply bookmark the page; can't tag it during highlight/note creation.

Shoot yes it is a five 🌟 app!! I've using Diigo for so long, no different devices, that I can't remember when I started and what device I first started it on, but, seriously no app crashes or slowing down your device... I do wish they had a widget for instant access to stuff you're supposed to read later because I forget to read stuff later every time almost. Lol but a website link or link from the app is good too for mobile devices.

I don't understand the logic of the browser popping up first...? I love the service, I just started using it but didn't expect it to open as a browser on mobile. Please at least give me the option to turn the browser portion off, or set the first screen to be my bookmarks/reading list. I really just don't understand the logic here. If you fix this I'll subscribe to the paid plan without hesitation.

The Diigo app isn't that great anymore. They tried to make it so that you have to use their built-in browser and that's the only option you have. Also if you go into the Unread section of your library and open a link there's no way for you to go directly back to the Unread view of your library. You can only go back to the start of your library and then you have to go back to the Unread section. That's not a huge deal but it's clunky. I don't like the new app is centered around their own browser.

There was an "annotate" feature that made the program unique and useful, and they took the feature away, turning the app into a web browser. They took the feature that kept me with them quite a few years. I'm very disappointed :(

I love the idea of Diigo as a bookmarking, etc. service and it was an important app for me. Until this latest update. I've had to uninstall it because not only did it stop being useful (a browser? I don't want a browser - I want a list of my bookmarks) but it kept nagging me every day to give it permission to all of my Google accounts. Huh? Unless I read that you've given people an option to have the old Diigo app back this is a desktop-only experience for me. I'm so disappointed that I might start looking around for other solutions before my renewal comes up, too. If the app has become bad and unusable what are you going to do to the service itself?

Mac. T. Apr 7, 2020

I was pretty happy with the app before the update which transfered it into a web browser. I don't need another one, I installed Diigo as I needed a bookmarking application! You have ruined well funcitoning application and turned it into a bloatware. I am getting rid of the app right away.

The new version that comes with built-in web browser is very disappointing. Managing and navigating open webpages is inefficient. The app size is also too big. Thanks for the old version (rated 4-star) but not this one.

Kyl. O. Feb 11, 2021

Still opens within the app without the option to turn off the internal browser altogether. I want to use my regular browser for privacy and security reasons. That's more important than having my bookmarks. Maybe I'll be back later to see if you've fixed the problem.

The new app is a disaster. What made the old app very useful, besides other options, was the clean view of the annotated article. Viewing articles on your tablet or your phone now in the new Diigo 'browser' in the present version of the app is a total mess now and just painful. Why change something that had worked? I used to trust this company, supported the software development with my subscription. But the new app is a sign of total incompetence. Now I am not sure this company will be around in 5 years, so I have to look into alternatives. Such a pity. Used to love the service.

This app is really great then instapaper and Pocket. The only thing which is lacking that Article Should be in justified and be more clear . In fact , Instapaper and Pocket readability is more comfortable for eyes .And this thing really is of great importance....

First review I've left, bc I am so frustrated with the most recent update. Why am I paying money to be so inconvenienced, when free bookmarking apps abound. Why is it so hard to add a sticky note/comment? There is no way to submit my drafted text: pressing "enter" just starts a new paragraph. Clicking away from the comment deletes it entirely, instead of saving it. I'm also fed up that opening bookmarks from the app now loads them into an unprotected version of chromium.

Pal. S. Feb 13, 2020

Unfortunately new Diigo app now puts data collection and analytics above user's convenience, cloaking everything into a browser like envelope. I do not want to use Diigo browser, just want to open a bookmark in a convenient way in the browser of MY choice. Please add back the old app functionality.

Gai. A. Oct 28, 2020

Diigo is pretty good for saving and annotating my bookmarks. My only complaint is that takes up a whole lot space on my phone, which forces me to uninstall the app often!! If you could find a way to reduce the MB size in a future update, I will bump up my rating accordingly. 10/28/2020 Update! I like the new browser feature on Diigo including an incognito mode!! I am a multiple browser and bookmarking type of person. I am satisfied so far with this app.

Cel. S. Nov 16, 2018

Just started using it and I love this app, it's fantastic! I already have a piece of feedback that would make it even better: being able to add a bookmark or automatic bookmark where we stopped reading a document in the app :)

Ste. N. May 4, 2020

This is a fantastic service. I use it pretty much every day on one or more of my devices to bookmark, annotate, and/or save to read later. The Android app works great. Recommend highly.
