DirectChat (ChatHeads for All)

This is a great app, however, it no longer works properly. It's not the developers fault but it appears that Android 12 is causing the issue. It stops you pressing any other key on your phone until you clear the chathead. I've tested this on different phones and different chathead apps. All with the same issue making the app useless. But hopefully there's a work around and all will be sweet again.

It's good, it just need a few more tweaks. I can't see photos in it yet and I hope I will be able to in the next update. The basic features are good enough for me. Btw, how about you guys consider adding the feature to send pictures and files? I am thankful for the app, it's been hellish to manage multiple accounts. Edit: You guys need to work on syncing too. It doesn't show past messages and it's hard for backtracking and you have to open the main app to do so.

I LOVE the idea! I just wish this worked better. I wanted to connect it to my phone texting. It doesn't work, though. If the same person texts me twice in a row, this app opens two chat heads and splits up the conversation. Additionally, not all of the conversation shows up in either chat head. It simply doesn't work. If they can fix this, I'll definitely download it again!

The idea is very good. But in the practice, it's still unstable. It's regularly acting up, and by that I mean from time to time it drains my phone battery 5 - 8 times the usual. What makes it worse it that it sometimes OK and then acting up again, and when it acted up when I needed my phone most, it's battery has been drained by this app. And yes, of course I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling this app, but the problem persist. If only that could be fix, I'll give it 5 stars for it. And by the way, I've purchased and use also the pro version.

Had this before and it used to be great... now my messages come in normally, (no preview though, regardless of selecting it) but when you click the bubble, it just says "New message", "2 new messages" and so on... it doesnt show you what they ACTUALLY SAID... just that you HAVE a message. Never used to do that. I've gone through all the settings 3 times already.. nothing. Kinda renders it pointless.

After the Android 12 update, my phone freezes making this app no longer usable. Needs an update to handle the new permissions from Android. Edit: there still hasn't been any update in well over a year to this app and its completely broken since the release of Android 12.

This is a fantastic app, which offers better privacy. Without even opening my whatsapp and instagram, this app lets me read all messages without any tension of last seen message, blue ticks, or anything else which let the user know that I have actually read the complete message very clearly. The only pitfall or this app is it doesn't show the attachment of multi media files(photo, video, speech), may be the developer could work more on this further. It's truely a recommended app for privacy.

It was awesome while it lasted. Developer doesn't seem to care about this app anymore. No replies to bug reports. New Android updates have broken this app and is basically useless. Will miss the customisation and the ease with which I would reply to messages across apps.

Great app but suffering from a few issues now. 1. When a chathead appears the rest of the screen no longer works until I clear the chathead. 2. More recently, when opening to the chathead, I cannot type in the quick reply. I need to close the chathead and open the actual messenging app.

It is not working on Android 12. Screen doesn't work when chathead apears. After removing the chathead the screen works. Even kayboard dost not work while chathead is opened. Please fix it outtt. I really enjoyed this app on Android 11 and previous versions. Pleaseee fix it.

Was a great app until the developer got greedy. I had the Pro version but after the update to subscription model I got screwed. I don't keep emails from 4 years ago and I can't find the invoice number on Google. I'd buy it again for $5 but $22 for only a year is ridiculous. It simply doesn't provide the value they are demanding.

It's decent but no image support in WhatsApp makes it pointless for what is effectively the best modern messaging service. 2/5 might seem harsh but it's such a big missing feature I just couldn't give it higher. EDIT: 1/5 doesn't seem to keep message history for long either. Feels like this was a great idea app but needs a more established Dev team to make it work well. When adverts seem more of a priority than useful features, that says a lot.

Was a 5 star app but had to deduct one star. With the latest update, the chat head now interferes with the screen operation-you can't tap on anything when the chat bubble is open, so you have to dismiss it in order to be able to use your phone. Too bad because this is an awesome app, hopefully it can be fixed.

Works as intended, but have some problems: 1- After a while, bubbles started appearing as transparent bubbles. 2- For some how it uses sooo much data.. even unused.. It was the top 1 in data usage stats (4.5GB in 2 days)!!

Great app......but. I've had this app for a very long time and I mostly use it for discord. Notived a while ago that I couldn't use any google functions with a chat head on the screen (google pay, switching between google accounts etc) Unfortunately, I just got an OS update on my Samsung s10 and now I can't do anything at all with a chat head on the screen. It's like the chat head disables the touch screen. Please find a work around for this!

I paid for pro user and was working flawlessly until Android's latest update and now it doesn't work with the screen overlay. If chathead is visible everything else on the screen is froze until you dismiss chathead. I had to delete the app due to that. Please fix

I was using it for last few years. however in last few days I realized that I am consuming approx 2 gb data at day start then I checked the apps which consumed the most data and i found that DirectChat was on top of list with approx 1.9 gb data consumption. this thing I noticed for few days and then I ended up uninstalling this app. Thanks for being the top app in my list for years but this recent activity let me down.

Works great so far. And there's an option for subscription or one lifetime payment. Unfortunately the lifetime is only ad free, not pro. But it works pretty good as it is. I may opt for the lifetime for a little developer's support. Good job!

awesome so far. only complaint is when you use it with Facebook messenger it doesnt show the message. the chat head comes up and it shows that there is a new messgae but not the content. also picture messages dont show up. not a HUGE deal. but would love to see that kind of functionality some day.

It's pretty good but for those who are receiving Android 11 soon won't need this app and will waste their money paying for this subscription based service, which many like myself do not like. If there was an option to pay for pro which should unlock everything then I'd most likely pay, even if I were waiting for Android 11 since it would be a worthy app to wait with.

its a good app. but it keeps on crashing. somedays it'll work but by the next hour text bubble wont pop onto screen anymore. when i open the app, it'll say to disable and reenable the app on my phone for it to keep working. it happens everytime

Very nearly paid for full sub, but it doesn't even display contact images for Google Messages, which is my most used app, and technically the default for stock Android. Shows first few letters of the contact's name, but cuts off the rest.

it's great but when I'm inside a chat head, i constantly find myself trying to swipe left or right to navigate Between chat heads. if you could make that possible i believe it will give a greater user experience because it will have a more user friendly appeal.

It's recently stopped working properly and needs updating, unusable in current state. Images don't show and the bubble is sometimes completely invisible and I can't seem to fix it. Subscription cancelled, will resub if active development continues.

can't see photo , audio , anything... if we can't see those... it's meaningless coz if it only can send text we can do it from notification bar too... and when i get voice message or photo... whatever the text they send after that , I don't get it... chat head opens automatically in new message , but last message is that voice message...

It was one of the best apps, I enjoyed replying to chats while I watch videos or play, but suddenly it started consuming my internet data, that too very fast, approx 2 gb per day. I was tensed as I didnt know why my data plan was getting exhausted.. Later I found out that directchat was consuming it, I uninstalled it and now my data pack is intact.. Please rectify this problem.. Also many times the chatheads become invisible or transparent.. Please tackle these problems.

Gone to subscription model, but the developer did the right thing and offered all users a free life-time subscription. About the app itself, it's a good solid app that works very well but it's long overdue for dark mode support. Once this has been implemented, then I'll give the app 5 stars.

Good, very useful. but it will really help if we can minimize the chat by tapping outside of the app, like somewhere at the top screen. ita quite a hassle to press back twice to minimize it. thanks!

Directchat is as good as it gets. Its very close to android bubbles. I am having a little issue with photo avatar showing up. It only displays the name of the person that's messaging me photos doesn't show up. If you can tell me how to enable this I will add another star.
