Since the Feb update, the app has stopped working entirely. I can be standing right next to my car, at home, at work, in the city, and the app while fail to connect to my car.
Hi... For several weeks into months now my app stopped working properly... I went to valet mode for the mechanic to work on the car tyre and all the settings won't re-enable it will only enable one setting only, whenever l hit save and disable everything else. If I pick siren it disable everything else. If I choose shock sensor, it disable all the rest. I just thought maybe it's because I was in the beta program. So I left the program, deleted the app and reinstalled but it's the same. Waste!!!
This app was awesome when it worked!! over the past winter it has gotten more and more glitchy until recently I renewed it and it has completely stopped working... i see it hasnt been updated in a while as well. Brutal. Update: called customer supprt and had it fixed in an hour. still a bit glitchy when REALLY cold but decent.
Constantly stating login failed and try again after 10 minutes. Even after 10 minutes, still doesn't work. Have had to uninstall and reinstall the app multiple times just to log in. Even then it barely works. Account is paid in full for the year but most of the time the app is not useable. Very disappointed. Please fix this or give us a refund.
Never starts the 1st time - never stays connected. I have to uninstall the app and reinstall it to get it to work and that doesn't always work. Move on to another product to eliminate daily frustration. Not fun when a car won't start from inside a building with perfect wifi in 14 ° weather. One year later....still doing the same thing. I don't think any bugs were fixed. 15° out this morning - tried to start car but the app froze. Had to uninstall and reinstall.
I've had this service for about 7 months, and at first it was excellent. Then about two months ago, everything on the app stopped working, and i got a constant error message of "no vehicle signal". The people at Directed insisted that I had an old module and that I needed to go back to the dealer that installed it. The dealer proved to me that I did not have an old module and even contacted Directed for me. Directed's only solution was to delete the app and re-install it (really? What year are we in now?). It worked temporarily, but by the following week I was "deleting and re-installing" the app every single time I needed to remote start my vehicle (no exaggeration). I am now at a point where deleting and re-installing no longer works, and the app is now completely useless. I have an appointment with my dealer this week to see if they can get it to work again (for how long is the question). From my research, every app update causes this error. I will be calling Directed for a refund. I'm extremely dissatisfied.
I am a Directed dealer and wanted to install SmartStart on my own vehicle and then test it out. The app is simple to use and has some great features like being able to find your car, start, stop, lock, unlock and even set up geo-fence and over speed alerts. Keep up the good work Directed and I recommend to all to have a SmartStart system installed in your vehicle!
Been a long time user and the service has gotten progressively worse. The app works every 1 out of 50 tries. Already tried deleting and re installing, using different networks and nothing works. Just keep getting the same error message. Have tried calling and have been kept waiting for hours without service. Also had no luck with emails. You would expect atleast a little more professionalism in their customer service but I guess not.
Can you guys please fix your new update? My app won't even open. Why am I paying for something I cannot use? I've uninstalled and installed and same thing each time. Fix it or stop charging me for the time that I cannot access it.
Got a new phone and the app doesn't even give me the option to reconnect my vehicles. Wouldn't recommend this company as it fails more than it worked with my old phone.
All in all it works fairly well. Has some hiccups and doesn't always start vehicle but 80% of the time its great
SmartStart works great and fast. I've been using the SmartStart for years now, and I can tell you that the upgrade is a must. I've had SmartStart since it was on 2g module. The 4g module is a must. Works almost instantly, with accuracy. I highly recommend it.
Not the most reliable app, never receive any notifications, commands sent are received the first time about 70% of the time. Occassionally have to try two or three times to get commands sent successfully by DSM300 with 4X10. update: May 25, 19...outside temperature on the app is always stuck at 89 degrees no matter what. Receiving commands has improved noticeably, Ild say commands received about 85 on the first try now.
Only works 30% of the time. Consistently says can't read Bluetooth connection at least twice before it finally reads a command. Have to be within 10-15 feet of the receiver for it to work. Defeats the purpose of this app to be right in front of my car to use it.
Easy to use app. Can be customized with different layouts, which is great!
the service on this app was never great to begin with but over the last few weeks, I cannot get it to connect and start my car. don't waste your money. I will not be renewing. oh, and when I called the company they told me it was the service area of where I park. I've parked my car in the same place (train station) for the past 5 years. the lot has wifi and good cell service
New update : things have gotten better the past 30 days or so. I was refunded from a double credit charge after a month of opening a ticket (btw SmartStart, your ticketing system is effed) (1+ star). Also, instead of a 50% success rate of starting both my cars, we're at about 70% now (1+ star). Here's a tip for fellow users for a better success rate : open your app, but don't press anything for 10 seconds. Now close the app. Now re-open the app and wait 10 more seconds before pressing start.
Having an issue with using Smartschedule- when I click on Smartschedule I get a message saying 'please select a cellular device to access this feature'. Not sure how to deal with this. Otherwise, a little buggy but overall pretty good.
PLEASE FIX THE LAG between the time the command executes at the vehicle to the time the text notification appears on the smartphone. I have been in contact with your support team, and as I understood my last call, your company is stating that this issue is due to heavy use of cellular providers as a result of COVID-19. If this is the case, then figure out a fix for the issue by working with cellular providers. A 10 second lag between car and smartphone is simply ridiculous and unacceptable.
So far the app has been good (today is only the 7th day). The alarm itself has an issue that needs addressing though. It paired perfectly with my Galaxy S7 phone on the first try, but the Vest Buy install guy could not get it to pair with my Galaxy 10" tablet after several tries. Days later I tried at home and got the same tablet to pair on the 4th try.
Remote access to the Viper system is awesome. It does not report the fuel level for some reason, but the rest of the system is working properly. It would be nice if I could set the timer and/or smart start system with the app, but that is really my only complaint.
Garbage! Had this app for ocee 3 years with minor issues, no though its a different story. Never communicates with my phone, always give me an error. I have to reatart the app and then maybe just maybe it will communicate and start the car.
This app is not reliable. I don't know if it's the weather or what, but it does not work 100% of the time. And it would also be better if it had a app for Smartwatch user's. And yes I do have the upgraded reciever installed in my truck
We renewed our service after a few years of not having it. The service does not work on either of our iPhone or Android smart phones. I have sent several emails and waited on the phone for 4 hours with no response. The remote start has started to work but the lock and unlock is not working.
Pretty good app, not quite perfect. The lockdown alerts only work once then you have to toggle it off and on. Real time GPS would be amazing. Cabin temperature is quite literally one of my favorite updates and thank you for fixing notifications.
this app doesn't even work. I try to connect and it comes up as an error. I won't be joining again, it was a waste of money for a three year contract that doesn't work. there are very few times that it would say that it started the car only for me to go out in the cold weather to see my car isn't on. I'll say 1 out of 25 times it will work. save your money and don't pay for something that doesn't work. I didn't want to give this app no stars but it won't post it if I don't give it at least 1 star
I'm just done. I got this installed 3 weeks ago. The app states it doesn't start when it actually does. Took ANOTHER day off work to drive an hour to the shop to have them work on it and have them tell me it's finally fixed. Guess what? It's STILL not fixed!! What a waste of $800!!
