PURE GARBAGE. One of the worst media apps EVER. DirecTV how can you not even get rotation orientation correct? Want to go through the guide? Portrait only, select what you want, then rotate to landscape to watch. How stupid is that? Also, to play a station should be touching the main bar of the station and info on what shows are on that station should be the small button to the right, DirecTV has that opposite. The app was designed by a moron.

Sometimes the app works great and you can stream a full tv show. But then it's stuck on buffering for the next episode. Or like now, I'm trying to resume watching a TV show and it doesn't "authorize" at all. Tried using this on the computer where nothing is even playable. This shouldn't be an issue when there's services like Netflix and Hulu that can provide quality apps.

Crashes on load on Samsung S20 fe 5G, Android 12. Really bad that it doesn't work on a freaking Samsung. They only make more Android phones than anyone else. I tried clearing cache, no help. Maybe if I threw the DirecTV box out of the window it would help. I think I'll try it. Hey DirecTV you can pick up your receiver on the ground floor. No thanks necessary. EDIT the updated app crashes just like the one before. I tried deleting cache & data, no help. Edit-still crashes on load.

Update: still loaded with commercials. disappointed. we were having signal loss when a show I wanted to watch was on. I downloaded this app, signed in and found the station. Immediately got ad after ad, signal came back on TV and show was playing. Meantime I'm still getting commercials. Uninstalled it.

The user friendliness is getting better but still annoying in that when you're watching something and have to exit out for whatever reason, when you go back to finish the episode, it makes you start all the way over...instead of picking up where you left off. This happends 85% of the time. It would also be nice if you could access recorded programs from the DVR at home while on the go. That way you can skip commercials.

I've had this app for quite a while now.. I love it... anywhere I go as long as I have Wi-fi I will watch my Direct TV app all the time. All the latest movies I've recorded at home on my DVR I can save them on my phone as well to view anytime. It's perfect when I don't want to lug around my computer or iPad. I just break out my new galaxy S22+ & I watch all my favorite movies & shows on this cool phone. It's super convenient & easy for me & my family to use. I'm extremely happy with everything.

Going right back to Dish Network as soon as my contract ends! Update 22 Mar 22. On an overseas deployment and had an opportunity to chill for a bit. Figured I would watch my shows that I've dvr'd but the app will not open! I log in and it says network error. Ive tried about a dozen times! I'm able to watch Netflix and YouTube with no problem. AT&T/Direct TV need to step up their game. This is hot garbage!

Echoing what other users are experiencing: a seemingly never-ending cycle of "stale request", "network issue", and so on, requiring re-entering of password. This may occur 10+ times in a row. The app is simply unusable and all those involved should feel ashamed of themselves.

Never had this issue in the past but lately, whenever I download shows on to my phone, they don't appear in my Downloads. Says I don't have anything downloaded. They will only show up once I get back home and within my internet setup. I know I have things as I downloaded some of my DVR shows just two days ago and can't even watch them on the way home!

This is the worst App I have ever used. I have AT&T and I have 3 Samsung phones on my Accoun the S10+, the S21 Ultra 5G, the S22+, all three I have to restart the phone almost everytime to connect to the app but even that doesn't work alot of the time. I also get a not connected to the network error message when I use either my carriers data or wifi. I downloaded this app to use away from home but quite a few of the features say error that I need to be on my home network to work. Horrible app!!!

Leaves so much to be desired! Slow, clunky, poor user interface. And this takes the cake: was 25 minutes into watching a recorded show; pressed the wrong button and exited the app; when I got back into the show, it didn't remember where I was and I couldn't ff to where I left off.

After being a customer for years I finally had enough with the outrageous price of the constant interruptions in quality of my service. And when I tried the streaming option, the issues continued couldn't sign in and couldn't get an account set. Glad I went to YouTube tv. I recommend switching.

Direct TV is running great this year, 2022, and I'm really enjoying the app. I love having DirectTV but I don't like that there are many movies I cannot rent from the app. I don't have wifi at home, which is exactly why I use DirectTV app and I regularly see messages on movies I want to watch saying "Record" but I need to be able to watch the movie from my phone and it won't let me.

Won't stop crashing on load up. Tried clearing cache, clearing data, uninstalled and reinstalled, and I even changed my password. Nothing worked. Reason for 1 star is because it's been like this for about half a year at least.

I left DirecTV a few years back. Back then I had got the app, to watch my shows. I left DirecTV for a few years and am now back with them. I've been trying to get into the app but cant because the information on file is from a few years ago. I no longer have that email/password or user ID! I've been on the phone to fix it and no one is able too! What a joke! I just wish there was another way to verify my information! If you choose to use this app dont ever change your phone number, email!

I tried to load up app and it crashes immediately! Direct tv I been a customer for 16 yrs. I think in August I'm dropping my service. This app was part of the reason I have the service. I work on the rd 5 days a week. So without access to the app it's a waste of money...

This app does have glitchy moments and does not switch between channels quickly. My biggest issue is that I can't watch all the channels in my package - none of my sports packages are available through the app. It's so frustrating I can't watch a sports game from my patio or when I'm traveling. Even if I have a game on the DVR, it's still not available on the app.
