New Samsung tablet, cannot login refuses to see internet connection little circle wheel just spins and spins. Works okay on my Samsung tablet 4, the older model. DirecTV customer service couldn't fix.
love the app. being able to watch live and demand, great! just a few technical difficulties with it booting me off randomly
Very slow and works sometimes. Stops in middle of your program. It seems to be getting worse instead of improving.
DOESNT WORK AT ALL. Sometimes i wish i hadnt left Xfinity. I never had issues with their app.
Missing a few of my favorite channels but overall good selection. Connectivity challenges but with service provider not DIRECtv
This app is the worst! Connecting to your DVR rarely works (even from your home WiFi) and it constantly crashes. Years ago the app was excellent; I used it regularly (especially for travelling) until they changed and made it useless. I deleted it years ago but thought I'd give it another try. They haven't fixed a thing. Total customer satisfaction FAIL! Deleting again, zero stars.
stream drops out a lot. of course it is at the best part of a show and to see what happen you have to go to the start of the show. Now the update will not load. Good grief as much as we pay we should not have to spend an hour trying to open and load a update. Months later and a number of reinstalls and still no better.
It works pretty good nice clear pictures when you're out on the road as long as you have phone service
when trying to reset my email and password they keep sending me a temporary logon to my old email which i dont have anymore there is no way around the problem. thats the problems you get when you have a telephone company trying to run a tv station, time to break up at & t again!
This app started out as a godsend. I was able to watch programs without a hitch. I could watch TV on the app for hours without interruption. Now this app seems to be demon possessed. It takes quite a while for the app to load. And once it loads and you select a program to watch, you cannot get into a program a good 5 minutes before it starts buffering or just cuts off altogether. It frequently loses its connection to the DVR genie. Maybe, it is time for an update (past due, maybe?)?
This app is horrible. Takes forever to load, if it ever does. Constantly buffers. And now on a brand new high end chromebook, it won't even show video. It shows commercials fine, but the programs have audio but no video. All other video apps such as Netflix and Hulu work great, so I know it's not the fault of the chromebook. This app is just worthless.
The app has always been glitchy , but it is getting worse. Constant buffering, DVR-ed shows jumping back to the beginning (and since you can't fast forward, you have to go all the way through the episode again, to get to where you were) , frozen screens. Doesn't always show an up to date list of shows you have recorded. Certain shows on your DVR cannot be viewed on your tablet (seems pretty arbitrary). When you delete shows from your DVR, they don't necessarily get deleted off the tablet app.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app countless times and it always stops working anywhere from 1 min in to 30 min in.. I have strong internet signal and no issues there. It's the app, it just stood and closes in the middle of watching any show or movie. It has done this from the very first time we downloaded it and tried to use it. And forget trying to get help to figure out why its doing it ... It's pointless...
I would give it a 5 or if 5, but the app is way to wonky for it to earn that many stars. I really do not understand, why Directv doesn't just make the app almost exactly the same as using the cable box, except without a remote control? I understand that there are limitations because it's an app. But there are also the same limitations while using the cable box. It's essentially the same thing concept-wise if you compare them both side by side. But when you try to find a specific show/movie to watch on the app, it finds it, but that's where it becomes complicated for no good reason at all. Please contact me personally Directv and I will show you exactly what I mean, and I will literally help you make all of your customers using the app happy in one fell swoop.
The DirecTV tablet app does not work on tablets running Android 5.0.1. it loads DirecTV and it also loads the TV Guide for DirecTV however would you select the show it will load the TV screen and the little activity Circle will run and then all of the sudden that goes to a black screen with nothing inserted in it. I actually think DirecTV is doing this on purpose as they don't want you to watch their TV shows on a tablet. There app for smartphones works on my Galaxy Note 4. I firmly believe they just want to keep the viewing of their TV shows on smaller viewing screens. What else could it be I'm sure they can fix this problem if they wanted to. This problem has been around for over a year and they have done nothing about it.
My app hasn't worked in 2+ months. Reset my Samsung android 9 tablet. Had to install this "newest" app version. I have older versions saved, but DirecTV took the functionality out of them. I can't register my DVR, so I can't access my playlist or download shows. I've called many times. Was told it's a known issue, nothing can be done now, & it's being worked on. Yet, no new updates since 8/10. App is unusable. Can't even send an error report. I pay a lot for sevice! They just don't care anymore.
I dislike this app for many reasons. Doesn't connect to my DVR when I am home. Says it can't find the IP address. Can't watch my DVR when I travel. What's the point of having the app if it doesn't work as advertised. Tech support helped by saying it was my tablet. Got a new tablet...still have trouble. It's not the device, it's the app that is worthless. I've been a Direct TV customer for over 20 years and since AT&T took over it's all been downhill. Too bad AT&T is my only option where i live. I am stuck with a poor provider.
App will not rotate out of widescreen like the smartphone version can, nor is there an option to watch in split screen. Should be capable of adapting to tablet orientation. Would rather just use the smartphone version, but can't get it to install. And why aren't all channels and local channels available? If it's limited by bandwidth, a choice would be nice. One America News Network would be enjoyable to watch while away.
This is the worst app in the history of new technology! Read the other reviews and as they indicate there is continuous connection issues, or the app closes, retry promps, etc. I can't rate the apps ease of use, navigation, etc because I am not able to open it to navigate! I am a subscriber to Direct where it advertises streaming to your laptop, tablet and cell phone. Don't believe it! Don't waste your time with Direct, subscribe to Dish for decent app service! That's where I'm headed!
So tired of the dysfunction. Crashes all the time. Suddenly loses sound, has to close. Suddenly kicks you out of program, then tells you aren't on a network when you clearly are. Then you can't watch anything because no live channels will connect. No shows will play no movies will play. Wholly unreliable. Unbelievably bad product. Sorry I can't give it negative stars, it's that bad.
This app is awful. Crashes more often than not. Makes it impossible to watch and enjoy shows because you have to start streaming all over again after it crashes. It's amazing how little have been done to resolve this issue over the last year. This app really shouldn't prompt you to review it with how often it crashes on users.
4 times more ads than in the equivalent TV broadcast (revenue by destroying UX ?) crashes all the time. lip sync problem and quality issues. limited viewing rights, and terrible UI, on Android/iOS. it's a shame that a technology leader like AT&T has allowed this app to represent its user experience. someone at AT&T or DirecTV should be accountable for this massive failure to bring a differentiating multi-device experience to users. others like Amazon have long understood this important point.
I tried this app again after installing/uninstalling it a year ago. While the install worked a lot faster this time, the results were the same. The app kept losing connection to my network on ANY program I was watching. The longest time I was able to stream without interruption was 45 minutes. After trying about 6 channels with the same issue I uninstalled the app again.
I absolutely love the app, When the cable goes out, I just watch Directv on the app.
Wish I could give it zero stars. The app crashes more than you actually using it. God forbid you pause a show. It crashes and makes you close the app out and restart it up again. I put up with it to watch my shows but I hate it. The worst is when it crashes on a show you can't fast forward and then you are stuck watching the show from the start again. Plz fix this dang app!!
