Too problematic. I loved the early, free Disconnect Mobile - it transformed my browsing experience. The dev pointed me to this newer "flagship" app when that got discontinued. For the price I expected at least the same performance, but it's not at all compatible with apps like Netflix-I have to turn it off frequently and of course forget to turn it back on, defeating the purpose; it works poorly with Chrome and Gmail, turning up no internet connection errors. Lots of pop-ups get through. Bummed.
Can't try without paying, having to subsequently go over scrutiny of having to cancel later just to try now - and, more importantly, having to remember to cancel. Online reviews in articles mention free versions with possible subscriptions to unlock more features, but all advertise and promise tracker visibility and protection for free. Which, in reality, is not available. Disconnect = disappoint.
Great concept and good people behind it, but unfortunately renders your phone unusable. When my phone goes to sleep, disconnect jams my internet connection and the only way to unjam is to restart this app. That means that when i am not actively using the internet i do not receive any notifications. This makes it unacceptable to me. Too bad. 3 stars for good concept and effort. You should probably get it working correctly before publishing.
It disconnected frequently until their tech support had me turn on "Always On" in settings. That's a pain because I don't want it on all the time so it involves extra steps. It seems to drag down my internet speed so I'm looking at another product with better speed reviews
Huge RIPOFF. This worked great on iOS, but if I use the Android version I constantly lose connectivity over WiFi. It actually interferes with basic connectivity of my phone over both 4g and WiFi. Support said to be patient and kept my $30 for the annual subscription with no updates since. UPDATE: There have been no app updates in 11 months.
Strange marketing idea. Popular Mechanics gives raving review of a program called Disconnect when the name really is Disconnect Premium VPN. They dont mention the cost of this either. Id hate to find out what the prorated cost would be if I signed up for a year and cancelled in 2 months. Anyway, not willing to jump through all of the hoops in order to try a program.
Been using less than a month, but appears to be working well after a few initial glitches. Their tech support is extremely quick to respond and very helpful. Lately it quits catching trackers. I have to uninstall and reinstall. I am on an LG V20.
This is a crock. Even though you press trial subscription, it directs you to a page where you need to pick which paid subscription you want. Other feedback also mentions the same. Don't bother.
Does not work at all. Even the free vpn provides better service and speed compared to this app. However, props to the customer service for diligently trying to fix the problem. Thus, I give 1-star for now, unless I will be fully setup with my purchase.
Works as advertised, have been using it on and off for about a year and no crashes and acceptable speed. Not knowing how many servers they have doesn't bother me, I have not had many slowdowns
Doesn't even work I just bought the unlimited plan and this does not even work Samsung Galaxy Note9 I'm trying to press the shield that when it turns on it's just red I press the button and it stays red doesn't activate anything. i don't know what I'm gonna do. I have to get a refund
Hi I start facing a small issue with this app, i payed 1 month and they said you will not start using it until you finish 7 trial days. The problem i can't even use the app until my trial days finish and the screen of layment pop up everytime i tryed to pay again they said wait until the 7 days pass Oo....... Help
Unfortunately it shows just Free Trial pop-up. I have purchase the annual subscription with 7 days free trial, but app still show me the pop-up and nothing works.
While this service ultimately didn't work for me it was of no fault of the service and more my use of it. This is a great service that is serious about privacy with the best support team I have probably ever worked with. I may not use the service anymore but would highly recommend it to anyone serious about privacy and support.
Please add more servers, for instance a swiss server. This app has excellent connectivity speed. Fast and efficient.
It was great at first, and now everytime I activate it all my apps that connect to the internet stop working. I stop receiving messages, it's like it disconnect me from the internet not makes me anonymous
This app is just unusable! The connection keeps dropping for no reason. Hence the name "disconnect".
Unusable app. Installed because of article in wapo. It says Android it is not listed on play store and yet I could go to play store and find it. Using a link on there site. App is not usable. Cannot pay if I cannot see what it does
I'm not sure if some of these negative reviews are nothing but shills paid by Google as the engineers who built this app used to work for Google. When it first came out years ago Google banned it for years from their playstore. I've been using Disconnect VPN for probably 10 years with excellent results. If you need help with something just ask Cody.
I have no idea what the heck you guys are doing but I keep saying upgrade now and obviously somebody's in my email cuz it's saying I already have a subscription and a device I do not have an iOS device but I don't have a freaking iPhone I have an Android phone protect it do your freaking job
Terrible. Cannot get it to work on android. Wasted money on multiple user licence from Windows Central.
Signed up for free trial, then constantly met with the sign up for free trial pop up and cant use app at all
The app hasn't been updated in a long time and the crappy performance on my OnePlus 5 running Pie really shows it. 😩
I've been using this app for about 4 years now, back when it was an APK. I'm happy to see they turned it into an official app. It did have some kinks to work, and it did work out in the end. Their CS is excellent, too. All the negative things I've read about Disconnect in the reviews seems to be user error, or some other unstable connection error. The only pop ups from being disconnected is when I lose wifi signal I've been using this VPN for about 4 years now for Desktop, Laptop, and Android.
