It seems no one found out that devices such as Iconia B1 have a removable SD card. This app does not have the toolbar shortcut for the secondary SD card, only for the internal one. Even the Astro File Manager (which is seriously bugged) includes a shortcut for both Internal and External SD... please add it soon, the app will be great.
Nice, dude. I had a perfectly working application (Linda File Manager) able to browse folders and externals cards *and* create lovely shortcuts on tablet's desktop. With this "I'm back" update all shortcuts stopped working and the app doesn't allow to create them any more. It became the most minimalistic and primitive explorer I've ever seen. What have you done? Why?
New version user-interface is less intuitive then the "Linda" version. While there is a cut the facility, the paste facility is missing. Shortening is difficult. All told, some things are improved but not everything. It was enough to downgrade my rating from 4 stars to 2.
Much worse than it used to be. Less intuitive and annoying having to press two buttons instead of one for file navigation now if you want to go back to previous folder.
Linda used to create shortcut icons on my desktop. Discoverer says it does this (long press... "shortcut created") but no icon shows on the desktop. Dl'd a barebones shortcut app that works just fine with my launcher (nova launcher/cm 10.1rc2), so it can be done.
I can't even go back through the file structure. All i can do start at the beginning by hitting the home button. Don't fix something if it's not broken. This is leaving a lot to be desired from the original app. So frustrating.
Every time I cut and paste a file, the app crashes when the paste/write operation completes.
Have used this since cupcake but Abby if the top ten apps beat this for functionality. I like the simplicity of the ui so I hope future updates can bring functionality back.
Various functions no longer compatible with modern Android. Otherwise a very clean and simple interface. Hope to see an update some in the near future!
This works better with my s4, finding my ext sd on the old Linda was a pain. But still too many clicks to get there, how about customize home page, ext sd holds way more than int. And it's what I use most
This app is good but missing many functionality like extract rar files, show storage file info. It's your shortcut is very hiding
Hey thanks for making Linda manager now discoverer. Just wanted to say I enjoy the new update but was thrown off at first since I had automatic updates turned on.
I've always been a loyal Linda user since 2010 but what happened to LAN mode!? I love to copy through LAN sometimes, it's just more convenient. Love the fresh new look though, but please bring back LAN functionality, I have to use TotalCommander to accomplish this now and I hate TC.
Linda File Manager is good. Wondering why the developer change it to Discoverer which is much useless and then no more updates...
This app is the best looking file explorer on Android by far. Love the Mac style folders and the side bar is fantastic. Would like to see an elegant way to navigate back a folder added in the next release. Please keep developing this, its an amazing start.
Worst on earth you say others are not good but let me tell you this is the worst.
I love it before update but now don't. Discoverer doesn't show how much gigabite we used and how much we can use.
I find closing the app by pressing 'back' so tiresome after browsing the app for a while. Please add a shortcut to close the app.
Reminds me alot of iFile back when we had to jailbreak our devices on iOS. lol remember that.
Looks and works amazingly up to moving files on my device. Crashes without fail every time I move files around. Really disappointing because it's by far the best ui on an android file manager.
I can't get into my external SD card. If the option is there, its not user friendly.
Still a great, lightweight file manager, but the update removed some things, hopefully temporarily, such as displaying the PWD. Also would be nice if there was a way to always display long file names, at least in details mode.
Not sure what happened but Linda had more functionality and simply worked. Discoverer is a thin imitation of Linda.
If only the upper bar that says 'discoverer' would be removed to allow more screen space to see list of items, it would be five star perfect. Also, it doesn't allow root functions. Despite this it is my default file explorer. I love it.
But some error with non rooted phone having no card access with lollipops version .. How to use with sd card ...?
Wow Linda is back and running. I had always used this app since it first came out I love it. The most important thing is the create shortcut that is awesome.
I'm reducing my review from five to three stars as one of the main features I used with this app was the ability to back up installed apps. I hate when an update ruins a good app...
Linda has always been my go-to file manager and I'm pumped that the Dev is back! Great changes!
I've been using Linda File Manager for as long as I've been on android. Since the update to Discoverer, I've been fighting the update process to keep the original and yet discoverer finds its way back on to my devices somehow. This update has to be the most annoying thing to plague android. Nothing can stop it either, not even unlinking from market! Updates are meant for improvement.
