Don't think about it and trusting your money with them. Yes it's a cool app but they are not matured enough to manage a bank and your data privacy is at risk. As most human beings, our finances and information is personal. I don't think Discovery is keeping your information safe and not sure with whom they are sharing or using your information for their personal gain. Great app in terms of functionality but it's a bank. This app is a bank and a 2/10 for being one. Maybe in future as they mature.
"Discovery Bank: Your Quote and credit agreement is in your Documents folder. Please log in to the app to view it." Queue recursion login loop. Can't login because I've not yet been approved, so I can't review the terms that we're given to me over the phone. So I can't actually verify anything. Truelly a disappointing and time waisting experience.
In the budgeting, it would be nice if you could create a rule that categorizes expenses into the correct category. This would be helpful when the app puts expenses into uncategorized or puts expenses into the wrong category based on the items description. Would save time and effort instead of manually having to change frequently used expenses that are not categorized correctly.
Reward system is difficult to figure out and when one actually does figure it out, you one to in that it isn't a it seems🙄 i was under the impression that everybody I eligible to get rewards for keeping fit, even on the app the only things marked there I don't qualify for are the travel discounts etc but I was utterly wrong. Imagine having to have a minimum pay of R300k to have the exercises benefit🙄 a little honesty goes a long way.
No implementation of biometrics is extremely frustrating. Especially when you have to use your phone to authenticate for a website login. Literally have to type your password in twice on top of doing a selfie. Push auth also has this extremely frustrating process
The app is good, but I think there is to much computing going on in the background that causes it to be very slow, or non responsive at times. Especially when you need it the most. If the company's goal is to make you dependant on their app then its suppose to work all the time with great effeciency.
Very user friendly app. A lot different from other bank apps. It's features are actually what you use and need and not too much clutter like other banking apps. It teaches you to better budget with cool rewards. Have your medical aid, banking, life insurance and car insurance all at one company and have less paperwork and more, better rewards. I moved all my things and I'm already reaping the rewards within 2 months.
1. Really not a fan of the financial/budget feature. I had a large refund come in for flights, and it's read it as another expense (not a positive balance) which is making my expenses seem way more than they were - and we're supposed to get points from this. 2. The app is really slow and seems to be getting worse every day. When doing a transaction, my 2FA times out before the app even loads for me to accept it. 3. The UI is generally quite sleek and differentiated from other banks, but has unnecessary steps which makes the UX clunky. Regardless of the look, it doesn't take away from how very slow it is. There are lots of people saying this - @Discovery what's the plan?
The past 2 week, the app takes forever to load. That's very inconvenient. Especially if you wanna do transactions. I end up giving up cause the app won't load.
2019 Somehow I've gotten a development build and am getting random data. EDIT: I wiped all data and reloaded and then it was okay. The app still slacks the most basic of features like export of transaction list, so one needs wait till end of month to get a PDF statement which is pretty useless for loading into Excel etc. EDIT: 2022 the app now works nicely and has user friendly features. From one star to five, well done. 👍🏼
I have a credit card but cant use your app. It wants me to upgrade to a banking package. It is pathetic forcing it down on people like that. How do I close my account. I would then rather go to another bank that is honest in their way of running their accounts.
So far so good. Effecient in opening the account with fantastic customer service. Very smooth in operating the application. However, further information such as how to earn rewards (by making transactions with credit card and not the transaction card) should be provided with the use of tutorials within the app. Discovery should also invest in the ability to send secure messages for banking assistance like FNB has and like discovery has with their medical aid and vitality queries.
The app becomes unresponsive every time, and just sits on a circle spinning around seemingly loading. Latest version of the app and Android OS.
Easy to use and I love that the Financial Analyzer Tool. Really helps with the budget and seeing where I can manage my finances better. Also love that it reminds me of various financial aspects of life like debt, savings, retirements and assets. I won't say the app is perfect, but it is user friendly and the Vitality money is a great tool.

But No guys really, big ups to you for the hot Cards, the cool App and the Online BANK, and it's well developed system and everything else, all the way down to the thorough call centre assistance. You did a perfectly good job creating and innovating a futuristic manner/way of dealing with cash/currency. Super Cool through & through. I do get why the face scanning and face recognition process has to be so to the point , I do
there are a few glitches when entering references on the foreign exchange account and it doesn't allow for trading transactions, which is ridiculous. When paying a beneficiary, the slider to select whether it's an immediate payment or real time payment doesn't change the option when selected for immediate payment, it remains on the realtime option, but shows details for immediate payment.
Excellent App. Very user friendly and easy to navigate. Haven't had a single problem using the app so far. The only criticism I have, would be the lack of flexibility when setting your budget and changing the date on which you are paid.
Not user friendly and takes forever to load. When making payments, in app authorisation purchase show as a message that you can't approve and so have to revert to sms OTPs
Really slow with a lot of lagging. Sometimes the next button doesn't work when trying to make a payment
Excellent service and easy to apply online with your mobile device... Without leaving your home... Best rewards and benifits.. dont need a expert to tell you what to do everything is simple banking..
I should blink and open my mouth for verification,it means I shouldn't make payment to others in a public space . but besides that it's a great app

Since updating my OnePlus device to Android 11, this app doesn't work. My other banking apps do however. It seems Discovery banking app is not compatible with Android 11.
I am so happy with using this banking app , it's so easy. My Money is safe, which is what i have been wanting . .I make all my monthly Bill's online less monthlyt queues for me. 😊
Fantastically easy and painless. Everything you need in a single app. Banking made seamless and simple.
1. Overall app environment is good - something different. 2. Please consider a different authentication method than the facial recognition - it very user friendly. 3. Please make "current transactions" downloadable in csv format. Currently transactions record is by a statement, which mean we need to wait for the whole month. The transactions do not even allow highlight and copy.
App is ok. Only issue is I cannot set a future payment if funds are not enough yet. Other banks allow you to do this as you know you will have deposited the funds by set date. Its not great for planning ahead. To be fair, repeat payments work better than any bank I've used prior. Its just those variable bills and invoices you cannot do ahead of time.
