This app is absolutely pointless. It has you link your TV network provider and tells me I'm all set, but when I try to watch a show it has another notification saying "Unable to Connect, please check your network connections and try again" which I've done repeatedly on my android device! I shouldn't have any issues trying to watch anything because I'M CONNECTED TO WIFI! Tried going on the web browser version as well but it tells me the same thing! This issue really needs to be resolved ASAP! 😠
App used to work well. Now it's really bad. Can't change captioning. Can't find my shows easily anymore and quality is terrible. Edit: My elderly parents can't watch their favorite shows because of the caption problem. The other day I wanted to rewind a little to see a part I missed and it restarted the whole program. We just stopped watching. I tried going to the link from Discovery's response but none of the troubleshooting helped and neither did contacting them.
This app is good as an all-in-one place for many networks. But, it cuts out after about 30 min and it consistently says to "try again later". It only restarts if you use a second device and/or wait an hour. Infuriating.
Broken stupid app! Use to work ok but now the damn thing won't even remember where your left off when watching shows. Then when you go to try to fast forward the show most of the time it will make you watch 3 mins of ads then after the ads it starts right where it was before you tried to fast forward the damn show! Fix this broken POS app! Oh wait I'm sure you won't cause you want people to pay for the Discovery Plus app. Such a bunch of BS! How damn hard is it to make a video app that works?
I have discovery plus on my phone n I was able to log in using my account information, but on the tablet you don't have that option, only to link a tv provider. Well I don't cable or satellite tv. You need to change this n allow those who do have an account to log in, instead of just a tv provider.
Can't even link my TV provider, it just pops up a tooltip that says, "Something went wrong. Please try again." Edit, I found out that Discovery Go requires Google Chrome for TV provider login. It should tell you this if you don't have Chrome installed or enabled.
I was told that the updated Discovery GO app no longer supports casting to the original Chromecast. Very disappointed as every other network, including Disney+, Netflix, AMC, HBO apps still do. Thumbs down Discovery GO!
If I could give this app 0 stars after the last update I would! The app will not connect to my Chromecast and gives me an error message and says try back later. I submitted a request just like they said and all they told me to do was reset my Chromecast which isn't the problem. Whoever is responsible for this update needs to be fired! When you go through the comments you see that everybody is having the same problem. Yet nothing has been done about this for weeks. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER RELATIONS!
4/23/22 update, still not working.3/4/22 Update, app still not working. I stopped receiving email updates from the Go App crew after I sent my android phone information to them. Disappointed that my older phone quit working on the Go App while every other streaming app I have has no issues. Please take a look Go App techs. 3/17/22 Update App still not working. 4/8/22 update App still not working haven't heard anything else from GoApp team.
It does not allow me to scream any shows gives me error message for every show I was watching it on the regular discovery Site but it's not working as well so I downloaded the app to see if I can watch my shows but none of it is working
When are you going to fix the Chromecast issue. The app does not connect to Chromecast. It use to before you put all your eggs in one basket!
Ads freeze the show when casting on the Google chromecast. When the last ad timer is around 1 minute or less it freezes and I have to un cast and recast. It's very annoying.
After the update anytime I try to watch a show it gives and error telling me to check my connection settings and try again. Every other app has been fine with my settings not sure why this one won't work
This app worked great for years they decide to mess with it and now it only will play ads not a single video. Worked, last night broken today. Has been broken for a week. Clearing cache doesn't help uninstalling reinstalling doesn't help. This all could be avoided if there was just an Android TV app but noooo, this was literally the only app I had to cast from my phone to the TV anyway. Now I don't any way to watch any of the Discovery Network channels or any of their ADVERTISERS on my TV.
I literally used it last night, with basically no probs. Got the update today and now it seems stuck on a ads loop. At the end of those lovely ads it always go back at the same point of the show I am watchig. Until last night using the app while signed in with the TV provider was skipping the ads, amazing. Now woth the update, its 2+ min of ads every 10 min. A show that us 50min in lenght, now last 1.5h. Simply ridiculous. I am paying the TV provider to have no ads, but now it's all changed. Fix
I love the shows and episodes, but I wish we could delete continue watching the episodes we don't want to watch with an x button, or it would go away after watching it. Ps. plz do less minutes of ads
EDIT Feb.7-- Can log in with provider click on show annnnddd error screen!! EDIT FEB 8--- Put the app on my tablet (not where I want it!!) Was able to start watching episodes only to get an error message at the final ad break and not able to finish episode!!!! The "techs" are useless and act as if your device is the problem!!!!! I'm about done with this app!!!!! FIX IT!!!
suddenly cannot not unlock shows keeps coming up error . sent messages to discovery and get no response on how to fix . tried zemkey and my cable provider and still cannot unlock shows seems to me its on purpose to get u to sign up for discovery plus . tried several times to get discovery to fix their app. and i get the same problem others have wrote about still 3/3/22 so i am deleting the app. since i cannot unlock my shows anyway .
Ughhhh. I was so excited you could see all the channels through one app and no matter which app I use the non stop buffering is so annoying. Should've just not merged all the channels onto all of the apps so we wouldn't have to take 2 hours to watch 1 show because of the buffering issues. Please fix!
Trash app. Trying to watch certain episode and it's froze on the ad. Go to something different else and come back still won't play. Uninstalled and deleted storage and cache and still won't play that episode. App was better before update.
Perfect app to help me stay caught up on my shows. Fast, easy and great service!
ZERO stars...downloaded & accessed my acct & app displayed "You're all set" & each time I hit continue, same page just kept reloading. Checked troubleshooting but got no where.
Constant loading. All other streaming apps work just fine when casting to my TV. This one, however, constantly stops to load.
Since the last update this app has been problematic. It stops casting and shuts down for no reason. Please fix it, we have a lot of shows we watch on it.
I'm with everyone using chrome cast. It doesn't work and everyone is getting the same response from Discovery Go. Well, repeating the same old response does absolutely nothing. I have reported to the trouble shoot like they recommended. Very disappointed.
Chrome Cast stopped working- Worked the other day, works on my other app, History, Netflix, etc, stopped working for Discovery Go. Show begins to load, goes to gray screen and says this "video is not available, pleaserestart app and try again" on the phone, and "Error Code: Unknown error" on tv screen. App is worthless to me now
Yeah this is absolutely terrible it updated itself all my list of shows are gone now it won't even stream a show and it's missing episodes. Please fix or change back there was no reason to touch anything this is garbage now I can't even watch anything that's all I used to do was watch Discovery and stream it now I can't do anything. PLEASE FIX
So apparently after a dev replies to your review it's deleted now?.. I had written that I hated this app because resuming a show on it and clicking to find your place initiated ads with every click. Click 5 times=watch 5 SETS (2-3+mins each) of ads. Click 5x=15+ mins of ads and likely the same ones over and over. To the developer: I did go ahead and submit a request via the link y'all provided.
DON'T SWITCH SCREENS!! I don't have the option of watching it continuously sso I have to go back-and-forth between screens. Every single time I switch screens and go back to my show, I have to watch 3 minutes worth of ads. I pay for DirecTV so I shouldn't have to watch that many commercials. I downloaded this app today.... and it's going away already. I'll just record the show at home!
