My experience with this app is iffy at best. Don't understand why it records certain trips and not others. The configuration on my phone isn't wrong and I ensure my battery is never less than 10%. Not sure if this app wants you to connect to a wifi network after every trip. If so, the development on this app is quite bad.
Failing constantly to acquire GPS blah blah blah. This app is costing me my daily drive points. Even after I check to see I have a trip in progress the moment I switch off my engine I get that error message. I've rebooted my phone. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Still happens. Constantly.
Hi, my app stopped working, doesn't record my trips since the 15th. App is updated. Please help.
Downloaded the app only for it to tell me "trial expired" and then kicks me out. Very frustrating.
I connected to a new sensor, given the fact that the first one was faulty. I had hopes that it would resolve the issue of my trips not being recorded. I even installed the app on my IPhone thinking that it could be a problem with my phone or Android, but still, my trips aren't recorded. The battery of my phone is always above 10% while driving, Bluetooth is always on, however, I get penalised for uncovered trip, as if I am the one who did not record the trips. This system is pathetic
I initially struggled with the app and rated it. To my surprise, the following day I received a call from Discovery with how to fix the issue I had. Everything has been working well since then. I never expected your call, but it really made a big difference on how I feel as a customer. Amazing customer service... And thanks for your help. Keep it up! Oh and I think it would be great for the app to still record with power savings on.
You even get penalized for Loadshedding if your phone does not have signal and you drive. Just something to think about....
This app is garbage. Hogs way more system resources than it needs, drains battery even when you are not driving. Misses some trips completely. Gives penalties sometimes for no reason (braking, acceleration or cornering when you aren't even driving badly or if it doesn't recognise the road you are on). Then when it comes to claiming your rewards it gives unknown error. When you try to submit a support query it always tells you you can't and to try later.
Pathetic app. If there is any drop in cell signal, you either get an unrecorded trip, braking penalty or acceleration penalty. Then there are the speed limits which they have on record which are way off. 60 km/h zones where the speed limit is 120. They say you must send photos of the speed boards, which when you do, you get a snotty email back saying the board is placed on a curve and one should do 120. Oh yes, you also get a penalty for phone use when taking said photos.
Have been using the app for approximately 3 months now and has been working fine. However have had similar issues wrt trips not recorded like other customers of late. Called the call centre and sent me some recommended settings. Applied these and now the app seems to be draining the battery quite badly. From 100% to 70% for around 15km trip, the phone gets quite hot while connected to the device and driving - phone is out of direct sunlight. Please fix the app, want to revert to previous version
There was a bug introduced a few months ago. Under certain conditions, the app maxes out the phone's CPU, making the phone slow & consuming battery very quickly. I have a Samsung S8 & my wife has a Nokia 8. My performance doesn't suffer but hers does. We are both experiencing much greater battery drain in the last few months. Force Stopping & restarting the Insure app resolves the issue.
I'm surprised that 3-4 months down the line, the battery drain issue is not resolved. Unless you force-close the app after using it, it will run your battery flat at double speed. I suppose Discovery dont feel it's a priority issue and don't feel like paying the app developer to fix the problem. Sad when the app idea is great to promote better driving.
Vitality Drive's point algorithm is a severe mess, what a gimmick and a waste of money.
Speed limits on the App not in sync with the limits on road signs.
Ever since the update on 30 November 2021, this app has been a mess. Am experiencing a lot of uncovered trips and yes my power save is off and my Bluetooth is always on. I have tried opening and running the app each time before driving and it doesn't always work. Please fix this ASAP as it is compromising my vitality drive status.
The app is well thought through, and I love seeing how my driving has changed positively due to the grading of one's driving behavior! I have noticed a slight issue though - when driving with my wi-fi router on, the app does not record the drive. However, if I turn my router off and run off of mobile data, it records the drive. It would be great if this could be addressed!
I've been using Discovery Insure for a few years now. After upgrading to a Samsung Galaxy S20+ and the new app, I've been unable to record almost every single trip. I've even tried driving with the app open and my phone unlocked, but the trip was still not recorded. All suggested settings are enabled, but I'm still unable to record my trips. I appreciate Discovery's high level of quality and expect it to be present in every service they provide.
I like this app, but even after receiving all the correct setting from Discovery to ensure it work perfect, I still have days where it did not record, because according to the app I did not have my phone with me. Haha, no one is without their phone. But it was very useful Dec last year when someone drove straight into my car. Discovery phoned and helped me to lodge the claim. It was dealt with, with ease. Thank you.
Firstly, the app has a few glitches. When trying to access the Vitality Partners pages, digital cards, boosters and rewards pages, an error message comes up and takes you back to the previous page. Secondly, the app is not very user-friendly and the organisation of items are not intuitive and very often difficult to find. For example, the healthy gear card number can not be found under the digital cards section. Much work on this app is needed.
I noticed I was no longer seeing any trips being recorded and when I checked it said my sensor is no longer connected. It also doesn't show any previously recorded trip history, also shows that no devices have been connected since install (which is incorrect). I have no idea how long it's been like this but I have had a system update since and I did not delete any cache or app data. Please advise.
