Great idea but so many problems. See other reviews for details. For me the issue is the incentives. My daughter loves getting the medals and at first it was every 3 days, then once every week. Now there just isn't any and instead she feels bad. Like other parents, mornings are crazy and so opening the app is the last thing on our minds. The app allows us to edit the calendar so a half star is still earned but if used within a certain time frame for night then there is no award.

The no sound issue is EXTREMELY frustrating. I've uninstalled, then reinstalled. Checked for updates, both for the app and for my phone. Combed through my app settings in general, and specifically for this app. Restarted the phone... No luck. The most mind blowing part is when the app was left open and we got in the car, the music played through the car Bluetooth connection, but not through the phone speaker??? We really love using this app, but it's becoming a huge bummer instead of being fun

My kid was super excited about being able to scan his toothbrush and have his character. Five characters later and I still haven't been able to scan a single one. I've looked at all different kinds of tutorials to get it to work and I can't get a single toothbrush to scan. He's quite disappointed and no longer wants to use the app. Super frustrating.

Pretty resource hungry for what it does. On an older phone for daughter and crashes a lot adding new characters. Totally does encourage teeth cleaning though. Also found that the data for this app doesn't transfer. So after 2 years of collecting characters and stickers M5 was gutted to find we had to start again when I got a new phone. Seems like something pretty simple to fix.

I have 3 children using this app. From day 1, I haven't been able to take any photos of the 2nd child's products because when the camera icon is tapped, the app freezes every time. The other 2 haven't had any issues. They like the app so far and has encouraged them to brush more often, but the inability to change characters and freezing is a bummer and thus stars are taken away.

I like the idea of the app and it does okay. I've noticed a few things that are annoying. 1. If one child uses the app to brush their teeth, the other child will sometimes get credit for doing both theirs as well as the first kid's. Seems a little uneven. 2. If the child forgets to hit the okay button after brushing their teeth or for whatever reason we don't use the app, but I (as the parent) know they brushed their teeth, I can't go in and keep the kids streak going. I can set the stars, but their streak restarts. Which is really frustrating. This is my biggest pet peeve. 3. Scanning the objects is practically unusable. I've noticed a few others users that can't even get it to work. Takes me several tries in order for the app to notice what I'm trying to do. Overall, I would say this is "okay". My kids like it, otherwise I'd uninstall it.

We have had this app for several months, and at first we were really happy with it. I will say that it accomplishes the main goal of ensuring that we brush long enough to be effective. My son is happy while we do it, and we know that we've brushed for two minutes. That said, using the app has been awful since the latest update. If it wasn't already a firm part of our routine, I would delete it because it has become so inconvenient to use. There are now long lags (10 to 15 seconds) between screens, which really add up when changing characters before brushing, looking at stickers, etc. The app will no longer close--the only way I've found to do it is to first minimize it, and then "swipe" it off. It took a full day for a character we purchased to appear. We also have problems with "losing" sessions/stickers. While I can go in through parental controls and fix this, it's just another new issue with what was a good app.

I've used this app for over a year with my kids. Everything was great (other than the variety of characters for them to choose from). Then there was an update and it has ruined everything. There are no more pictures/that show up that show up at the end, just a "WiFi timeout" picture. Instead of having fun and every time my kids brush their teeth, they are just disappointed at the end.

This app has been great. we have had some issues with scanning but other than, it has worked great. I do have a suggestion. My wife and I both have rhe app on our phones and it would be nice if it could sync with a sign in or something like that. Whoever is with the kids brushes their teeth and it would be nice if the progress could be synced up.

with the last update we now have fireworks that have sound effects. that was a nice surprise. But now after the star goes into the book to account for the brushing, there's no way to exit the program unless you simply go back to your home screen. It didn't used to be that way. In fact, even with the enhanced sound effects for the fireworks, I prefer the previous programming to this one entirely. Sometimes the program doesn't start at all just plays the intro music and before you know it times up.

The App is awesome for getting my two boys to brush their teeth. Before I downloaded it, it was a constant battle with lots of crying and screaming to get them to brush. Now my oldest is upset because I recently changed phones and now all of characters and stickers are gone. It would be great if you could sync the app so that you don't lose everything you have completed or collected. An update to resolve the problem would be worth a 5 star rating until then only 3 stars.

I have autism, im 25 and have a really hard time remembering simple health things, as far as eating and drinking, this timing thing makes it awesome and fun to remember to brush my teeth! 10/10! I really enjoy it, I would say I'd like a notification at a certain time through morning or night to remind me that I need to brush, other than that, brilliant app!

We like it a lot! He likes to see the new stickers he gets for brushing 2 minutes. And it's cool he can look at the calendar and see how much he has brushed! 8 months later.... Still using this app! Added Ant Man and he really enjoys the new stickers! He is still not tired of this. Been using over a year now. It is a great way to keep him brushing longer!

This app is really nice if you can get a brush to scan. Whoever designed the scanning function should no longer have a job. It takes dozens of frustrating attempts to scan a toothbrush. I suppose they don't have a manual-entry option to make sure people actually buy the brush, but it is beyond me as to why it is so difficult to get it to recognize the toothbrush you are scanning. Truly shameful. Put a darn QR code on the package or something, it's not a hard fix for someone with half a brain

Mar. T. Aug 7, 2019

Scanning the brush doesn't work (with a Rapunzel electric toothbrush) - either the recognition is no good, or I'm doing it wrong and there isn't sufficient instruction to show you how to do it right. It seems like putting a QR code on the toothbrush or package would have been a lot simpler and more reliable. Timer, stickers, etc are all fine, except we can't access anything except the default BB8 set.

Major issue we have is the scanner (which has been getting worse ans worse!!!) more often than not it cannot scan the products which is incredibly annoying and frustrating when you go buy a special toothbrush and can't unlock the character. Helps achieve 2 minutes of brushing but can also be distracting (ie. they watch the video and forget to keep scrubbing)

Kids very like brush the teeth with application. Great work! However after the latest big upgrade there are 2 critical issues in the app. 1) After opening the app, music is always off. While if I go to the settings, I see music is on. The workaround is off music and then get it back on. 2) The app sstatistics became strange. For example, the statistics show 17 of 14 times brushed over the last 7 days. 17 of 14. Or 60 for the last 30 days, while a lot of times kid did not brush. Please fix.

Would be great if I could get the darn toothbrushes to scan in to unlock new characters. Yes I made sure the brushes had the magic timer symbol on the packaging. I've tried multiple times, multiple ways and it doesn't work. Thru should make some sort of actual barcode or code to enter to unlock instead of trying to scan a picture. My daughter is so disappointed.

Jam. Y. Oct 16, 2018

The scanning function is horrible. It took me 30 continuous minutes to get one of the two toothbrushes to scan to unlock content. In the 3 months since I've tried every night to scan the other one to no avail. Don't bother buying any of the branded toothbrushes for this app. It's a huge frustration that's not worth the effort or extra cost.

Aim. B. Dec 9, 2018

The app has been great at getting my toddler to brush regularly and for a full two minutes. However it does have some bugs. I can't get his toothbrush to scan at all. And every time I open the app, it says it's downloading and then freezes on a black screen. Then I restart and it works as expected.

Jor. M. Nov 2, 2019

We bought the Rapunzel toothbrush and it will not scan for any reason. I thought it was my error but see here its not just us. The the "tutorial" is also essentially useless. The timer itself is also, at best, distracting because of the way it does a picture reveal with the timer. So our daughter loses focus on brushing just to watch the picture come up. Deleting now that I've read the other reviews with the same issues plus some we've yet to deal with.

Car. O. Sep 16, 2019

App doesn't allow me to close it. I have to restart my phone to get it to close out. It won't scan the Cinderella toothbrush we just got that has the sticker that says it goes with the app. Very frustrating. We tried 10 times and did exactly what the video showed and the help explained. How can we get Cinderella to open if it won't scan?

Dav. L. Feb 22, 2020

My kid won't brush without this. It has become routine. It used to be great but lately it doesn't work well on my phone. The background images do not load while brushing. Instead I see image of hour glass and wifi symbpl.. Also, the restriction to only brushing once per night is very frustrating as sometimes there is a need to brush again and it causes unecessary annoyance to work around this limitation that there is no reason for.

Ang. B. Jan 15, 2020

No longer shows pictures while brushing. Contacted the developer who said to delete cache and try again, that might work once or twice but now no longer works. Will have to seriously look at alternatives. It is a great idea just not been out into practice. Plus very hard to explain to young children why it is no longer working.

Anc. R. Apr 19, 2021

I used this app a year or so ago, and everthing went great, my girls loved it. And then one day is started to work really bad, the screen would be still, and wouldn't load the images. Recently we bought new Oral-B products and we just couldn't scan them. It won't work. We never use the AR feature. And I think that feature might be slowing and blocking the entire app on our phones. Maybe you should release a simpler version, for smaller kids, just with the pictures and the timeline. Thank you!

It's nice for kids, who do their best to obtain their daily stickers, but the app has some significant flaws: - It's very slow to open and even more to switch between windows (i.e. go from 1 profile to another to see the stickers). - I just changed phone and realized all the information from the previous one had been lost. This means scanning everything again to get the sticker books (thank you internet), but it also means I have to manually edit the calendar for all profiles in order to get the stickers back - which means remembering which date they started with which character, when was a dentist's appointment made, what was the result etc... - You also cannot share a profile on 2 phones (i.e. when one of the parents isn't available to assist with teeth brushing). It should be possible to have an online profile, which would allow you to easily switch phones or parent and avoid losing loads of times getting everything back.
