I would like to take back part of my previous comment. I figured out that samsung uses dex. I accidentally click to switch to dex display when it prompted. Under notification panel, found out there is another prompt to switch to mirroring display which solves my problem. However, I would still like to have the capability to extend not mirror. But this is one step closer.
I recently got hold of a small DisplayLink USB TFT screen that has been previously used with a cash register. Dunno the model, but it has a "TVS" logo on the front. Works flawless with Windows 10, but not with my tablet due to USB bus power issues. Not enough mAmps, I guess. I'm gonna try more Hosts at a later point of time. Maybe some of them have enough power to get the screen up and running. I'll keep you informed.
Pixel 6 user, does not visibly cast the mouse so it's impossible to use in desktop mode for mouse/keyboard productivity. Everything works, you just can't see the mouse. Typical Google jankyness. I knew I should have gotten a Samsung with Dex.
When a DisplayLink-certified hub (D6000) connected to Pixel 6 Pro (Android 12) I see a pop up "This app has not been granted record permission but could capture audio through this USB device." with options OK and Cancel. Of courses, it doesn't matter what option I choose, screen mirroring doesn't work. I tried to give the app permissions manually via settings but the app menu said non permissions were requested by the app. Seems like developers need to update.
As long as I had the proper cords going to my docking station and my Zen Screen, I could mirror my screen without a problem. You need an adapter/docking station that has DisplayPort or Thunderbolt built into it. However I was trying to show a movie on my TV in my camper by using my phone's unlimited plan. BUT it wouldn't show the movie. I could play other mp4s that I had on my phone or on my cloud but not protected ones even though I can watch them on my phone.
Awful, it keeps disconecting itself every 30seonds to a few minutes, doesnt matter how i plug it in,even if i leave the phone alone it still acts like that, the relolution doesnt actaully display correctly with my galaxy s10, it trys to keep the rounded edge and doesnt even try to fill the display, its basically useless in this version, and this is the 3rd time ive tried to leave a review it desperatly needs an update
Edit. On OS update to newer version freezes seem resolved. Very nice to use now Video out freezes after ~15 minutes. Audio and input seem unaffected Otherwise outstanding.
Today I got the device (Wavlink USB 3.0 to HDMI) and I connected it to my Poco F2 Pro to test Dolphine and ppsspp, latency is way better than miracast, picture quality looks good when we count that my phone is 2400x1080 and the aspect ration doesn't match with the 16:9 1080p but still good quality, if option to cast part of the screen or change resolution and target frame rate is added I will be very happy with the product, at least for now 4 stars is the best I can give, it can be improved here and there. Edit: Had problems with video output stopping at exactly 10 minutes and having to re-enable the connection, but Cardinal Gaming from YouTube helped me with the problem and I can output until my battery is empty, so go check his videos about DisplayLInk, the solution for preventing the app to stop is locking it in recent apps, stoping all battery savers and seting no battery restriction to the App p.s. DisplayLink add the solution to the description of the App and most of the bad review will be gone cuz there are about that stopping after a few minutes and recoment using external power not only to get more power to the adapter but to slow down battery drain of the device and if you can add option to set 720p 60 and 1080p 60 to lower the latency for gaming this product will be the best and to encourage you I will give the last star
Cannot get this to work with my BB KeyOne with Android Nougat. When connecting displaylink device (Sentio Superbook) I never get the prompt that gives Display link USB access. It just shows my USB charge options (Charge, Charge and Data, Boost Mode). Refresh button in the app also does nothing. Is there some USB setting I need to change for the app to be recognized?
Doesn't work at all. At least the display link desktop demo works for 10-15 minutes before freezing, but this doesn't outputs video at all. Since these 2 are the only drivers available for Android, I strongly advise to avoid buying displaylink products until they're have stable drivers. I'm glad I only bought a cheap dock (~30 use) and I'm not stuck with a 100-200 USD paperweight. Tested on mix 3 MIUI 11 Android 9 and Android 10.
Super cool app to turn your phone in something more then just a phone. Add keyboard mouse and some game streaming service and you have a gaming console. ! Please, add Ethernet support than the whole setup would be complete !
I did try following setup: Samsung Note 9 + Dell D3100 dock. It does work, mean's I can see phone's screen mirrored on the Display. However not being able to extend Mob screen to Display (only clone) and not being able to use more than 1 Display connected to the dock - make this app all together pretty useless
Only mirrors current screen, does not create a second display. USB2.0 does work with an OTG adapter, but it's incredibly slow and laggy. I do not recommend this app or displaylink products.
Work on Poco F1. Not on all screen. Netflix work. There's problem with Amazon prime and Hulu (black screen) because this tech mirror the screen ,I hope this can be fixed with the next version of the drivers.
Something has changed. I don't use this app often, once every few months, but it no longer works on hardware that was previously working. I plug in and nothing happens. Sony Z2 phone.
Works perfectly. Purchased displaylink adapter from cable creation, along with this app, I can now connect my Google pixel to TV via HDMI to get video and audio . Thank you and keep up the great work
Works flawlessly except for places like Amazon video where, due to content protection, I can't watch anything (Netflix SD plan works though?). I have been using this with 2 different Motorola phones for a few years now, and it works great, especially with my new phone. I haven't had a single issue with my new phone. It even works if you change the resolution of your phone with something like SecondScreen! This allows me to use any screen with any resolution.
