DJI Ronin

This app can serve it's purpose but not always. Raveneye sometimes is disconnecting and throwing errors when trying to reconnect in chinese! The UX of the app is pretty bad. Overall I would say that it's not a reliable tool for a professional. I hope that it will eventually get there; but for the moment it is amateurishly done. Can't find a way to contact support through the app.

Disappointed. Basic functionality is OK, but not a fan that Android users play second fiddle to apple users. Also: fails to fire the shutter on Sony cameras. Well documented issue for months (look at your own forums, guys), and there's been no helpful response to the issues. Even the camera compatibility chart says the shutter should fire without issue. Feels like I got scammed since nothing official says this functionality would be missing for us, and there's no good support for the shutter issue. Willing to update my review if it gets addressed. Before you ask: yes the gimbal, camera, and app are all updated, and connected according to the manual. Edit. Brought back a star because the shutter now fires with the MICRO-B cable plugged in. Kind of dumb that's the difference, but here we are. More stars when other functions (including tilt in timelapse) returns.

Was unable to update the firmware for the Ronin SC via this app. I was forced to use the iPad version of the app. Motion timelapse doesn't work on my Samsung phone. The app just freezes up half way through the timelapse. The camera keeps shooting but the gimble stops moving. It seems to work with the iOS version. It seems the Android version of this app isn't ready for production. Hope there is a fix soon. I got the Ronin SC partly for this feature.

App version 1.2.0 installed on two phones, LG G6 and Samsung A3. The app connects to Ronin SC and the activation goes well, but no information from the gimbal is displayed in none of the application's screens. For example, Firmware info: "N/A", battery info: 0%, Sleep button does not do anything, firmware upgrade fails (although connected to Internet and to the gimbal). The app does not communicate with the gimbal at all other than making the initial connection. Not sure if it's the app or a defective unit that I have. DJI support could not help me until now.

Needs some love from devs. Connecting to Raveneye from Android 10 pops an error in Chinese two out of three times. When you're in the communication between the camera (R5) and Raveneye remains choppy. Odd limitations with wifi password (must be exactly 8 symbols long?). I'd like to test 5GHz frequencies but for whatever reason the app only shows the 2.4Ghz in the drop-down menu. Good thing is it can only get better from here!

Was great before changing phones rarely crashed. Now it crashes if you open it. It even crashes when it's not being used. Message come up randomly even if I haven't used it in weeks saying "the Ronin app has stopped" then asks if I'd like to wait or close when it's not even open. Bugs need to be fixed because this is not useable in this state.

The interface to set up your gimbal is fine, no complaint here. But unfortunately, the app - allthough inactive and not turned on - activates Bluetooth by itself. I turn off Bluetooth, the Ronin app switches it back on after a few minutes. I have no choice but to deinstall this app, in order to save battery life of my device.

Pixel 3 and Ronin SC. Bought it yesterday. Cannot pair via bluetooth. Phone can see the gimbal, but when I attempt to connect, app pops up the message - input password: default password 12345678. If I press OK - nothing happens, same message appears. CANCEL - looses connection. Update: fix which worked for me - I turned off Swiftkey keyboard, and switched to default one, from Google. After multiple retries app gave me an option to input the password.

Very easy to use. My only complaint is that the "motor kill" toggle is too many clicks away. It would be nice if there was one on every screen and or an entirely separate app. Just for the rare occasion it starts wigging out.

Completely unacceptable. The app crashes before it even opens and this has been a known issue for over a month. I am unable to activate my ronin sc so I'm just sitting here with a useless gimbal. I'm considering returning the Ronin sc and getting a zhiyun gimbal instead. I really wish I had just gone with zhiyun in the first place.

Experience was great when first using it. Since the latest firmware update (updated it yesterday), video lag to mobile device is horrendous. I'm gonna get this out of the way now, IT'S NOT MY PHONE. Why may you ask? It's about a new of a phone as you can get. Samsung S21+. Again, everything was fine until the flee flipping firmware update. Is there a way to go back to the previous version??

Garbage app.doesnt even open. Simple cache issue they can't be bothered fixing. Took my money for the gimbal np though. Thank you very little. Looks like you cannot use the gimbal for first time use and since the app does not open on Android. I'll return the gimbal

The app turns on my bluetooth by itself even while im not opening or using the app ! Rather than that, it is so acurate and easy to use. I don’t think you read carefully ! I know how to use my phone and I know how to turn on and off my Bluetooth! And I know how to use your app ! So please don’t confuse other people who read this review with some useless unrelated information! What I’m saying is that EVEN when I’m not using your application suddenly OUT OF NOWHERE my bluetooth turns on by itself and when I check my bluetooth history it shows that the Ronin app was the ONLY app that turned on the bluetooth recently !

I've had the combo package of the (DJI RSC2 PRO) for a few months now, it's a real nice piece of equipment, but due to me working with a (CANON REBEL T7) I'm not receiving a video feed on my mobile device which is a (NOTE S20). I ask if you all can throw us an firmware update on the Raveneye, so we can fully experience the full capability of the gimbal.

The app is simply fantastic. I have dozens of gimbals, but the Ronin line are always leagues ahead of the others. It's usually the software that makes them so much better. Purchased 2 Tilta units and they still not delivered on the features advertised at launch. 2 years later, still waiting for bugs to get worked out. They just abandon products and then push users to buy newer models to get the fixes. As much as it pains me to say, DJI continues to deliver new features long after purchase.

The app is ok mostly, but as other users said, it turn on the bluetootj randomly, even when you are not using it. In the last few mornings a wake up and my bluetooth is always on, even though I did not use the app in the last days. It's not critical, but annoying.

This app is a good companion to my RS2. Handy focus peaking controls, luts, etc. Occasionally there are connection issues with the raveneye and the gimbal - Can't connect to both at once. Also the connection instructions aren't the best, I found better instructions on YouTube. App is generally functional.

Does not work with Android 12. Crashes at startup every time. Contacted technical support and was told to download a newer version from their website and "sideload"...thereby bypassing Google's security and scanning systems...no thanks!! It their app was truly safe they would make it available through the official Play Store.

Just got my Ronin SC in, actually ordered it yesterday and it came the next day without overnight shipping! Only to be sorely disappointed by the app crashing without even opening with my Galaxy S21 Ultra. I might have some old phones laying around but that shouldn't be the answer. Hope an update fixes the issue soon.

App is not working in Android 11. Mobile gets paired to Gimbal bluetooth but this App is not able to find the Gimbal in search. Not able to connect at all to Gimbal. Really, developers need to do something to fix it. It feels common issue many are facing!!

Still crashing on opening on newest Android firmware. As this app is essential for changing the settings on the hardware I would expect this to be fixed by now. What's the hold up?

The app seems decent, but asking to install an update outside of the Google Play Store is very shady and makes me not trust DJI. There's no reason for a company of that size not to keep the store version of their app updated. In addition, the tutorial videos are in Chinese with English subtitles and buffer horribly. What?! I just paid $500 for a gimbal and you can't be bothered to use proper language based on my setting?
