DLNA Player
DLNA is a standard to facilitate access to multimedia content between devices connected within the same computer network. For more information about DLNA, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Living_Network_Alliance.
Ginkgo DLNA / uPnP Player acts as Media Player or Media Controller, allows you to find media from Media Servers (Windows PC, NAS with DNLA server installed, etc.) in your home network, and play to Media Renderer(network player, smart TV, etc.) or locally on your android device.

[Built-in image viewer] : Built-in image viewer with zoomer to visualize your photos.
[Play with external app] : video medias are forwarded to other player installed on your phone. (e.g. "MX Player", “VPlayer” )
================Known DLNA issue================[Media formats]: Media Renderers may support from extensive to limited media formats. Take this into consideration when choosing your media renderer. Media servers supporting “transcoding” could be a solutionif the renderer supports limited formats.
[Not supported operations]: Some Media Renderers have limited support of DLNA operations. Common issues include : 1. SEEK, PAUSE, SET VOLUMN not supported. 2.No finish signal sent when current track ended(So no continue play support by Ginkgo DLNA player).
[Media information] : DLNA allows Media Servers providing optional information for medias. This include encoding, size/duration artist, album, album art, etc. Most media servers do a good job, but some do just the minimum. Consider changing media server if you want more media information.
[Protocol Message Error ]: DLNA compatible devices communicate each other by protocol messages. Some media servers may send sometimes malformed messages that cannot be properly handled be others. This may lead to loss of information or application crash.

Crashes immediately on Samsung S7 Edge.
Stopped working so useless now
A great and simple app but with one annoying flaw. When you drill down into sub-folders then hit the back button the list is displayed from the top. It should remember where you were in the list and display from there. Very annoying working with long lists. Otherwise 5 stars.
Latest update broke app. Force closes on start. Please fix. Tried uninstalling then reinstalling does not help.
It stopped working the other day. I tried reinstalling it, nothing. Other than that the app is exactly what a dlna client should be.
Yikes! This no longer runs! I have uninstalled and re-installed six times and still nothing. I click the icon, screen blinks and reverts back to the same screen as before clicking. This is very sad for me, I really loved the convenience of controlling my music with my phone or tablet. Previous review-NO LONGER APPLIES... Found my NAS library and plays it to all my dlna devices: TV, AV Receiver and phone. Plays many formats especially, for me, wma and wav.
it just worked for me what i needed for no hassels. browse and play. no need to pay to remove add junk.
For the last month the app simply don't start anymore nor on my phone or tablet or tv box. I reset two of them and reinstalled the app and don't start more. Was waiting for an update to fix a temporary bug but after a month I give up.
Used to stop streaming from my server randomly, but this seems to have been fixed as the app now crashes on load so no stream what so ever. Uninstalled
Dlna content isn't cached, so every time you switch away to another part of the app and then back to the library it completely reloads everything. It also locks up the app when loading.
App no longers works, at least on a Samsung Galaxy S7. Developer is unresponsive choosing to ignore two emails requesting support.Message to Dev: If your app is broke and you cant be asked to support it or even respond to emails have the decency to take it off the play store.
Stopped working with latest pixel update. App won't open. Will increase rating once resolved.
This is the best I've tried and I tried many. Works perfectly on both my tablet and firestick. Works with mx player and vlc. On firestick you need a mouse or a software mouse. Got the app here for tablet and at aptoid tv for my firestick. It's quick and always finds win 10 dlna server on my pc. It would be nice if the developers made one specifically for the firestick but until then install aptoid tv, then add mini bluetooth keyboard or a software mouse.

Great app, but the last update broke something and now it won't start.
Excellent, can watch on my Smartphone all the movies, documentaries and soccer games recorded on my Panasonic HDD recorder. Top work.
Stopped working! Tried reinstalling but no joy. App starts and immediately quits.
STOPPED working. Removed and reinstalled but still does not work. Opens and immediately closes.
Having some other app play a movie is hopeless. You cant ff, later you cant resume where you stopped.
Not new updated Nov 2016, plus now won't load\work on any of my androids, was good when it worked
Used to work fine on all my devices but from past few days it fails to launch... I have tried uninstalling and a reinstall still the same problem persist in all my devices
Great app! It has some annoying things like always going to the top of the list when hitting back, but always worked for me, never froze and no annoying ads. Keep up the good job!

Edited review: Once was on all my devices, but now fails to start. It was good, but with no developer support it's less than useless. I'm now using AnDLNA instead.
Opens and immediately closes on my Nexus 6. Doesn't work at all.
This was my preferred dlna app until it stopped working. Read the remove and reinstall advice on the read more section but this did not fix the problem.
I use this app to access my Silicondust HomerunPrime "m" card from Comcast. Quick way to view all non-DRM channels. VLC player is a good video player to use with this. Would like to see last channel button and a hide/show scrolling list of channels to access while video is playing where you can select to change channel immediately would make this app nearly perfect. Also, remember last source position so you don't have to scroll back.
not working at all, crashes at launch
