DOF is quite simple to understand, the equations output to a set of curves or tables. So there are many websites and apps that can calculate this for you, all you have to choose is the user interface that you like. I was looking for something different. A comparator. Where you can see the size (height or width) of the subject at any chosen distance x focal length x sensor size. Then flip between different sensor sizes x different distances x different focal lengths. That's not readily available through most of the other apps. This comes close to giving the numbers so that I could get a feel, although the user interface to play with these different parameters wasn't all on one pane. Worth playing with this app if you are chasing this function
Easy to use and simple if you understand the simple basics of hyperfocal, dof and know the sensor size of your camera. If you don't know this, google it. This app is an excellent tool and not a dictionary. You can change the screen to black lettering on white or white lettering on black. Clean, easy to read charts and selection of f stop, subject distance and focal length of lens. This app is a must have in the field for tack sharp subjects within a photo.
I prefer the reduced clutter of just showing apertures in full stops but my primes are F/1.8. It would be great to select full stops but if the range start figure happens to be a 1/3 stop figure, include that as well in the results.
Deinstalled. spent 5 minutes trying to find camera types models etc or sensor type or size. Could not find these. Therefor useless to me.
White font on black is ugly and hard to read. Information presented too densely making it even harder to decipher. No pictorial presentation of data either.
It has a big downside that the minum focal length available is 24mm. I need up to 10mm as I use APS-C
A bit confusing at first, but after spend a while i become understand how to set proper distance to get sharp images across the frame. Really helpful
I tried a few and this is the best for macro work. If I move my camera or change fstop, tis app is fast to change and all needed info is right there.,
Works pretty good, and hyperfocal distance is consistent with other sources. I just wish there was a DOF graphic or percentages showing near and far depth.
Tried other equally accurate app, but this one is a no-brainer. Takes care of the technical part. This enables you to concentrate on the creative part.
I was looking for a simple depth of field / hyper focal distance table mainly for use with an ultra wide angle and fish eye. Then I found this app and I admit, it's awesome. You can define sensor size and then fix some parameters to see how others change. Anther reason to go paperless :-)
Thank you very much for developing this Apps. It's very easy to use and give a broader view on the DoF for different range of Apperture, Focal Length and Angle of View. Excellent Apps!
Love it! I also prefer the light theme over the dark one. Sliding part is way better than manual input = speed. I also appreciate multi-tab option which lists results in preferable to user way. Great job developers 😃!
The best of all DOF calculators, esp for experienced photogs.
Quick, detailed, excellent. Would surely satisfy any professional photographer.
Direct useful information and easy to use. Great app!
The edit camera settings is all abbreviated? I have no idea what "h dim" or "v dim" are or what they mean. So this app is useless till I figure this out.
Simple to use,Highly recommended.
Simple to use. Excellent support.
Cheers no BS does what it needs to do
It deserve more than 5 stars but I would love to share it with several pro n amateur photographers. This is best ad-free stylish simple and unique must have App. Thanks
The best DOF calcultor for Android.
gives all the needed data
Simple layout? Tick. Needs no access to my files etc? Tick. Thank you.
Just what I needed.
I have been able to optimize exposure for landscapes and cityscapes. Really missed it since modern lenses have no dof scale. Recommended.
I've tested so many apps, this is by far the best there is! Multiple ways to view the calculations, including a list of you're curious about similar values. Excellent.
Really helps to understand dof and hyperfocal.
Look no further... Simply the greatest «DOF Calculator» to date! Period. My thanks to the developer! ;)
Great little app, I recommend it when I'm explaining DoF to beginners at the local camera club.
