Dog to Human translation
Translate dog bark to human:Press the big red button and bark. The app will then display and speak the human translation.*
Tap the arrow to switch mode to translate from human voice to dog bark.Then press the red big button again and speak. Google will interpret the speech to text, and the app will then bark the dog translation out.**
*The human translation function is still in development, so it might just return one of 6 pre-defined strings.*
* The dog bark synthesis is still in development too, and it might just bark once... which might always sound very much like the previous bark.
This app was inspired by Google Animal Translator which was released on April the 1st one year.And was built to test and explore the capability of MIT's AI2, with the intention to see if I can build a quick app (in an hour from scratch, with zero experience)... and use this as the basis for an upcoming training course to kids to do the same.
This app was not tested on animals, dogs, humans, nor on multiple platforms and devices, and the graphic treatment shows that there are other skills I can also work on... but it does work nicely on a Nexus S for me :)
The app appears as "explorer" amongst your apps... I could not figure out how to change it after I started my first app "exploring".
The app permissions: The media file access is probably because it plays a tiny barking dog mp3 file. The network and device ID permissions was demanded by AppInventor (I assume for all apps), and I assure you that I am not showing ads or tracking anything intentionally.

This game is super dumb.I taped the button and all it said was I'm hungry and then it said the sqaure foot of 4 is 2 twice!
I thought it worked because when i said my dogs name she came over and the app said are we going for a walk and where is the bone but it kept repeating and then it said the square root of 2 is 4 or something like that so do not get this app or get it if you like wasting time
I was looking for the google animal translator and found this... funny though

When my dog barked it saidvthe sguare route of four is thirty two so dont buy
I said hi to test it to see if it would work for translution but it said back 2 +2 = 4 !? 😑
Sitting next to my cat when my dog started whining then I use the app to understand my dog but instead it says the square root is 4
My dog was sick and so I asked her....What hurts you baby?Do you want to girl to the vet? And it said one bark and then my dog said chicken poodle poop. And the square root of two is four
It said the same thing over & over boo
I don't have a dog and it said bone
My dog was apparently repeating the same things, like "the square route of four is two." He also said I look tired and I just woke up.

I wasn't near my dog and it still worked and kept asking me to download a woman voice translator
I don't even have a dog. This app is clearly not a real dog translator, but it is still very fun to play with friends' dogs, the wandering ducks outside, and even little sisters 😉. They even show the app's code modules and i am playing with the codes right now.
