What is a clicker?
Clicker, similar to a dog whistle, is a sound signal to mark a behaviour and precise moment for which your doggo is rewarded. Science has proven that praise or a treat has to be given within 0.8 seconds after the correct behaviour. If you choose not to use a clicker and instead use a food reward for positive reinforcement, you are unlikely to always deliver the treat in less than a second and your puppy will refocus his or her attention on you and the treat and not on the behaviour he or she was performing. A clicker reduces training time by about 40%. You could use a verbal commands like “Good”, “Yes” instead clicker, but a clicker sounds like a whistle has an advantage that the sound it emits is specific and the whistle will most likely be heard only during the puppy training. Clicker training adds a dimension of clarity and precision to mark a moment your dog behaves as wanted. Use positive training methods and get inspired by Dogo what tricks to teach your dog!

The app is very well informed and is a great tool for dog training. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that I cannot seem to access the potty training reminder widget, which is what drew me to the app in the first place. I have a galaxy phone, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference, but every time I go to add the widget, the only one available to add is the clicker widget. Still a great app overall and I recommend it for all dog owners
This app has help me teach my 4 month old puppy how to do some tricks. We are still working on them. It reminds me when he has to go to the bathroom. It reminds me when tricks are due to be taught again. I keep repeating the same tricks so he can get them as he grows every day. I def love this app. It is free but there is a pop up that tells you, you can buy it for a year for $39.99 an other payment option but I chose to do the free part first.
Very professional, they respond to emails and questions. Also, something that surprised me lately was that my food loving Chihuahua sat down automatically, waiting for me to fry the sausages she loves. Not all the tricks work for her much because she likes doing them with food mostly. But that's not the app's fault and they do a good job at providing good feedback. :)
This is a fantastic app! I have trained my own dogs as well as others. I will recommend this for people who are starting with a new puppy from scratch to older dogs looking to expand their skills. They break each skill down into manageable steps to walk you through. The responses from the trainers are great and they offer great encouragement as well as tips. I recommend the full program 100%. So much value for so little cost. I can't say enough great things about the Dogo app.
I just downloaded the app to see if it would be something I'd use long term for my pup. The thing that turned me off is that all the articles I read seemed to have weird/incorrect grammar and spelling issues. Made it hard to read. It's nicely organized and well designed though.
Clear, Concise & Visually Nice! It's super simple to get started and the training exercises are great. High value for a free app! I can only imagine the benefits of subscription
This app is amazing! I never leave reviews but i have to for this. I pay for premium and so appreciate being able to get feedback on the mini exams on how to improve even more. I appreciate being able to see other videos to see how the trick is taught. The mini workouts are a great way to end a training session as well, as its good practice of tricks my dog has mastered so we can end on a positive. 100% would recommend if puppy school isn't for you, or you want to teach an old dog new tricks!
I have been using the free component for a few weeks I am really liking it. I am considering subscribing. The app provides a simple plan for daily training with useful instructions and videos. I struggle to think what to do with my dog in the way of training. I never seem to remember the exercises from dog obedience classes when I get home. This makes it easy.
So simple to use and I'm seeing great progress with my dog. I would love to be able to sort or filter the list of skills by rating so I could work on ones my dog needs more practice with or revise ones she knows well. I'd also love to be able to put together my own plans based on the exercises in the app
Very well done and really cool App. The repetitive videos or gif-like vids are good so that I can copy what that person is doing so that I'm training my puppy right. Really nice, guys😊 oh and I love that the clicker is easily accessible💯💯 Also is there any way to properly teach puppy how to bark once they are outside the house or something pls. I had a look and I can't see anything on reactive dogs and teaching them to sit with😊 Oop accidentally pressed some buttons😅 changed it😄
Overall good experience. I wish you could favorite certain training exercises. I'll see one that I want to do but we just finished training. By the next session I forget what I had wanted to do next
Great basic training options. You can do a lot without purchasing anything. The videos are really helpful when practicing the exercises. I even like the notifications because they encourage and remind me to work with my dog on new things.
All right for clicker tricks but the tutorial on reactivity is purely management, not treatment for reactivity, and the explainers propagate misinformation about the motivation or cause of reactivity, implying that you can *negative punishment* your way out of a PANIC DISORDER. Good grief. Also, it's better to just buy a real clicker. Depending on your phone, a phone clicker isn't always quick enough.
Helpful and well-thought-out app overall, but I wish there was a colour-blind option for the potty training feature. A blue/orange colour scheme, for example, would make this app usable for every member of my household.
We've only used the training program portion of the app (not the social or interacting with live trainers) and it's been great. We like that it syncs our progress across phones and that the trainings are broken into small sets.
I got my first dog (13 week rescue puppy). Although I already know the basic training tips this app has giving me so much confidence! It's very knowledgeable and you can find a short article about almost anything you'd have a question on. It has video examples as well as frequently asked questions and tips. It's definitely helped me slow down and understand how dogs learn and she's been doing so good!
Dogo is competing with my social apps in terms of usage. I use it all the time. Thanks to it I'm taking my dog to another level and our relationship has become so strong. The training programs are amazing! The content is rich and helpful. This app is so well built it's hard to think of any improvement. Dogo experts are also extremely helpful and so nice. I have a very energetic puppy and she needed training, and I knew the basics of what it would be ideal for her to know, but didn't even have the proper steps to teach her those things. This app has given me not only a whole new world of tricks and commands to teach her to be a more focused, polite dog, it gave me step by step VIDEO instruction on how to teach her the things I already knew I wanted her to know. Just three days in on 10 minutes a day and I've seen a marked improvement in her!
As a Professional Dog Trainer I have to give credit where credit is due! It's a fantastic app that offer great advice and excellent service. It's going to put us out of business... nah just kidding, nothing can replace a real trainer for a hands on experience! It does give excellent advice and exercises!
So far I'm really enjoying the app, the training sessions are well designed, and the video examples are very helpful. I'm giving it a 4 because some features are missing: - Dark mode: Potty Training is already challenging with the sleep deprivation, and getting flashed by the app does not help. - The potty schedule it's a great tool, but it has potential: e.x. It should automatically calculate and show relevant information as "time since last pee", "average time in between the last X events"
This is a wonderful app it offers games and very good training tips and trials to complete when you do complete it you get a reward like a certificate! The problem was you have to pay for more than 1 exam.
Dogo is the best I think you should download this app if you are trying to train your dog. it's for all ages of dog and has different fun games and activities to play with your dog. The only problem I have is that the down method is hard to use with smaller dogs but other than that it's a very good dog training app that I recommend.
I'm loving this app...wish it could teach me patience...lol...but the app is great and the instructions are easy to follow...my only problem is some of the writing is small...the more words the smaller the writing...but other than that it's great for me as a beginner...thinking about taking advantage of the $39 annual fee before it goes up because I have more than 1 dog and the free version only allows info for 1...but the free version is great already.
