Company takes unusually high percentage of what you make. I would hope they wise up to this or they will be replaced by a competitor. App does not work as well as web site, and is harder to navigate, but does make sending pictures easier. As a whole this is a good idea, and makes some things more convenient for dog sitters and owners, but they have a lot of bugs to work out.
App doesn't work. Opened app and it flashed to info about rover then couldnt register as new client. Option was not there.
Way better than the Rover app!
Dogvacay has been amazing for me. I started out as a part time sitter but now am full time as business bloomed especially over the Spring and Summer as that's when most people go on vacation and need pet sitters. The app makes everything more convenient as I'm constantly getting new request weekly for dog sitting. Would recommend to everyone.
Used to be helpful for running my DogVacay business. Loaded into Samsung Tab A and it does not send photos to my guests. Very disappointed that new tablet can't be used to send pictures with this app. This latest update 1.5.3 still won't let my Samsung tab A send photos and worse yet stopped working on my Moto X cell phone with Android 5.1
Same issues as others, as soon as update installed the app won't open on my Nexus. Says "unfortunately Dog Vacay has stopped". Can't seem to find a way to revert to the older version either. Please, Dog Vacay, triple check for bugs before releasing a new version! I also have dog stays in progress. I would remind others that you can always access the info from a desktop or your mobile browser in the meantime before they get it fixed. Can't send photos though for current Vacays on the desktop or mobile browser pages.
Good app, bit messaging needs to be improved. If you voice type or hit the back button, it deletes the entire message that you were typing.
This app is a great idea! The only problem I've personally had was scammers. I almost lost money because of it. Just be careful!!
This app was FLAWLESS for me until the most recent update. Like many others, it's become unusable and crashes immediately upon opening. If fixed, I'll be happy to return my rating to 5 stars!
I used to LOVE this app/website. I chose it specifically over Rover because it was more user friendly. I had such a hard time with Rover. And now that they are combining, I am done dog sitting. I will not go through the hassle of Rover.
Dogvacay has been amazing. Really has inspired me to continue my education to learn more about how to better serve this pups!

After the update yesterday I'm unable to open the app or receive ANY notifications!!! Please fix ASAPLY!!!!!

Since I now dog walk and board pups as my main source of income this app has helped me in keep up with my customers much easier and mobile while out. I just wish they would allow us to give it a custom notification noise so I could tell more easily when this app goes off.
Patience is key but it does work... Beautifully! It takes a little time to get things set up and running and once you do, it is a waiting game. Once you finally land your first client on DogVacay and get a great review (which is extremely important), your momentum picks up. This app works great and actually WORKS to get you clients. Like any good business, it takes time to build up your reputation and gain exposure in the market but once you do, it is well worth it. Patience is the key! Great app!
Please enforce dog sitters to keep their schedules up to date; I tried to book 2 sitters, both of which appeared to be available during the period I requested only to get a message saying they weren't available. Very frustrated first time user, and will be looking for an alternative.
It's an ok concept for housesitting and petsitting, but it's impossible to search for current or future assignments and people looking for petsitters have to contact you. You can't pick and choose which jobs to apply to like other services, which I find better than sitting around waiting for a job opportunity that may never come. Also they recommend free background checks which is nice, but they require you to share your social security number. I find that dangerous, so the background check is useless for me. I probably won't be using this app or service much in the future.
App is great, sitters are not. One never responded to my email and the other never showed up. Very disappointed.
DO NOT SIGN UP!!!!!!!! Im known for my unconditional love, dedication, care, and passion for animals. With over 800 volunteer hours at local shelters and my continuous donations and efforts to help any and every animal dog vacay has said im "unsafe" and i cant be on the dogvacay site. My instagram is 80% shelter animals im caring for, im at the shelter almost everyday, all i do is care for animals i would never do a thing to hurt any animal. Ever. Yet im somehow claimed "unsafe"? DONT EVEN BOTHER WITH THIS SITE, ITS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME. THEYLL KICK YOU OFF FOR NO REASON ONCE YOU START GETTING A LOT OF BUISNESS. My suggestion, just make your own site.
Dog Vacay has been a life saver. I travel quite a bit and never know when or where I will need someone to watch my black Labrador. I have always been able to find someone anywhere I am. All experiences have been great.
Great service! I usually get responses within 24 hrs. Found it difficult to find how to leave a review but after digging I was able to find it.
Dog Vaycay is a great way to find a dog sitter that you are comfortable leaving your dog with. If you use the same sitter every time, your dog makes her self right at home.
