UPDATE : 4/24/2022. I love dg digital coupons. When I first started using the app it would lag consistently. I could never connect to Dg wifi. Now it's doing much better. It still gets my prices wrong on some things, like it's a glitch in the system that shows prices wrong or sometimes it will just show $0.00 and when I go to pay for it, it shows the actual price. Other than that ,it's essentially a great app , and a must have this day in time.
Very slow to search or add items to a list or order. More often than not, it gives me an "error" message popup several times before adding. I try to use it to calculate how much I'm spending as I make a list and it's sometimes just easier and faster to use a calculator. I CAN usually manage to find out what's in stock at the stop, if I'm only looking for one or two things. But some days I still have to call the store or just go up there. Wasting fuel if the thing I want isn't there. Please fix!
The DG app has nice features & great potential but the app needs improvement to become more user friendly and reliable. Respectfully the FD app is much easier consistent & reliable. You can login to DG online with your desktop or laptop to upload coupons & email the list to yourself, but it doesn't help when you want to scan barcodes in the store to ensure the products match the coupons. I'll keep checking the app to see if glitches are fixed. I'm hopeful the app will function properly. :-)
The last update has made this app virtually useless. I used the previous version of this app for digital coupons with no issue, BUT with the new version I usually (I say usually bc it has worked ONCE since the update) cannot view the coupons to add to my account; it will not load and then gives an error message- I've tried multiple times within the last several weeks. What's the point of having the app if it I can't use the features it's intended for? This app is failing at a basic level.
This app is one of the best out there!! It allows you to scan an item for pricing which will also automatically add the item to your cart and can easily be removed if you decide you don't want an item. It will continue giving you a running total until your ready to check out and if the store has a self checkout, you simply scan your cart and checkout. If there isn't a self checkout, you'll at least know how much you're spending ahead of time. Great app!!
It's difficult maneuvering within the app. To me, a problem seems to be with your log in system. Whenever I tried to log in I supposingly was to have had the wrong password every time, so, I couldn't log in because I never received the code. For sure, I'm not a professional, but, one thing I am, is honest. I do my best to walk in integrity according to the knowledge I've received. Not being able to log in and not having a live person to commune with made the experience, to me, difficult.
I can't even update it gets halfway downloaded and stops! So now I can't even get into my app because I've got the update first. Please fix it!??? After reading all the other reviews I'm not for sure that I want this update. And with the old app I never was able to screen for prices. I hope this new update has fixed that problem. And there's been a few coupons that you've got in your brochure but not in my coupon list. Finally after eight tries it installed itself.
It's a great app in theory. Love the idea of a digital coupon book. If only the app actually worked. All I ever get are endless loading screens and my coupons disappearing from view once I've finally managed to clip them. Absolutely loathe this app. How can something so simple be so broken?
Great potential but slow with many bugs, was able to use it once. Since then multiple errors on just about every screen. It says you have coupons and it will apply them, but then does not apply them. Now it changes pickup times and is unable to accept payments.
The Dollar General app is great!! I can look at the weekly adds, clip digital coupons and make my shopping list and when I get to the register after shopping for my items I just enter my phone number and the coupons are automatically taken off my total. So easy and convenient!! There aren't too many options for shopping in my small town and with gas prices going steadily up it pays to shop close to home. Love the DG app!!
I like everything about this app. It does what it's suppose to and especially nice to have the coupons already waiting when you get checkout. All you need to do is enter your phone number in to a machine similar to a credit card processing system t&en it automatically deducts the coupon amount. And from now you don't have to worry about missing out on $5 off $25 spent just log into your DG account to select it before you go to the store. I have saved hundreds this year.
I like being able to scan products in store to see what it will cost at the register before getting to check out. I just wish that all coupons and discounts were automatically added rather than having to go through and select each one; that would be a great membership plus.
This app needs a lot of work. It rarely ever works any more. There are a lot of us that depend on the app to scan items in store to be sure we are getting the correct product and coupon. It would also be beneficial to have working wifi in the stores for the app. DG is really dropping the ball with this.
the app is getting easier to use but I need a way to make sure I get the coupons into the register before I leave the store... the cashier shouldn't have to wait for the customer to start the transaction when the register screen is asking for the info and not allowing enough time to enter it.. kinda feel like it steals from me with no options during the sale.. to enter it once they start scanning.. but the app is easy to figure out.
Even though the app has been updated to allow for in-store pickups, it does NOT work!! The store employees are gracious and kind and work around the problems. Your order will be canceled and not processed even after allowing time for the order to be processed. Do Not use in-store pickups!!!
This app is absolutely ridiculous. It doesn't load anything within the app and once you click to clip a coupon it never gets added to your wallet. If you try to go check to see if it's been added then it glitches out and will completely close out the app. I'd give zero stars if I could.
Rather than save a dollar as was advertised on a DG digital coupon, I was tricked into buying two of the item I only wanted one of and paying almost twice the price for it. Not only could an employee not explain what had happened, he reported similar experiences. DG: I hope it's obvious what I think you can do with your app.
The app was very reliable prior to the most recent major update. Now the app is extremely frustrating to use with its constant errors, long loading times (which almost always results in a time-out error), and glitches (such as coupons not clipping).
The worst app and pickup I have ever experienced. I got the app to use the coupons, i placed an order and not everything was available at the store. No big, deal just cancel my order. The staff said they can't, i had to but i see nothing in the app to cancel order. Called back they said it will cancel itself if you don't pickup. Next morning I see in the app it says I picked up the order at 11pm. The store isnt even open. Checked my bank acct and they charged my card. Ridiculous
Helpful on my bill! I like seeing there are some coupons on DG brand items! website is not the most user friendly. It would be much better with a menu on the left side so you could always go where you want without being kicked out and having to come back into the app.
The app is great and make sure to use it on Saturdays. It has a five dollar off coupon on top of all the other deals they have on there are great . All together I always get 15 off thats the least that ive got off one trip have had up 30 off . Easy to use just pick add and put your telephone number in.
The update and fixes to the app, made the app almost useless except for viewing the ad. The home page is completely modified. The tabs are gone, along with the coupons and it won't load the coupon from my email. Continuous error - try back later message. Please fix the problem.
In the past I had no problem finding what I needed. These days the app does not sync with the actual inventory at the certain stores I shop in. When I go in they don't have the quantity of items I need, or they don't have any in stock and I have to check a different store... I'm not sure what happened, but the past 5 times that I used the app for a pickup order, the store was never notified about my order, so it was canceled. The times before that I had no problems.
The app has the potential to be great. I'm not a huge fan of the changes and moving the coupons/shopping list etc. but I can adapt. The problem is, the app constantly gets overloaded and goes down. It's not a signal issue, it's most definitely an app issue. I can build a shopping list and a few minutes later it's empty. Wait an hour and everything is back. Coupons don't load, then they do, then you can't see them, then you can. Constant "something went wrong" errors. App needs stability.
I always expect this app to malfunction. And it hardly lets me down. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. And it doesn't open. It gets stuck on the ad without opening it. It gets stuck on the coupons without opening. I have tried wifi and cell data connections. Same results. It has been this way through 4 devices. So it isn't this phone. If it gets fixed, I probably will be shopping more at Dollar General. I can't wait. Please fix it.
I hate the update on the app. Because you could click it and it was added to your account. Know you have to add to your wallet. Many of the elderly dont remember to add it the wallet. So they think they have added it but in reality they just clicked it but didnt remember to add it. So when they put there account to get the coupons its not in there account. There frustrated because the coupon didn't come off thinking they were saving money and they feel like it was just a waste of time.
I honestly started off with 5 stars but the last few months I've had so many issues getting many of the tabs on the app (coupons more often then not) not loading. I've already reached out to customer support and was told to uninstall then reinstall the app. That works for a time but then starts messing up again in a few weeks. If it was not for the fact it does work after a reinstall for a time, I'd completly stop using it. Sometimes the official web page is more reliable.
So. Many. Glitches. Sits at a "processing" screen for a long time every step of the way. I've tried to sign up and after much processing, an error that kills the process. Closed the app and went back in to see if I could log in, tells me the account is locked, try again in 20 minutes. Never used such a slow and glitchy app, it's awful.
This app is very user-friendly. I love that I am able to use coupons without actually having to cut them out. The Dollar General app allows you to "clip" digital coupons so when you are in store at the register all you have to do is enter your telephone number into the credit card machine and BOOM!! all eligible coupons are applied to your order.
