donateNYC makes it convenient to give and find used items in New York City, from clothing to housewares, furniture, and much more.
Use donateNYC to quickly and easily find the nearest place to donate or buy gently used goods. The app includes information about nonprofit social service organizations, thrift shops, and other local reuse organizations in New York City that accept and redistribute donated goods.
• Search by material type for vendors that will accept your used goods or that sell second-hand items you want
• Use your current GPS location or an address to find a donation drop-off place or second-hand vendor near you
• Get maps and learn drop-off hours and contact information
• Find out if vendors will pick up your donated goods
By donating and reusing goods instead of discarding them, you’ll reduce waste, conserve energy and resources, and save money, while also helping provide jobs and services for New Yorkers.

It is supposed to be a department of sanitation app. At least this is the app I was directed to for trash pickup, dates and days. For that purpose I gave it 1 star.

Finally a government app with a nice modern design and clean user interface. Simple and elegant, it does what it is intended to do.
I had some old books that my old neighbour gave when she moved out. Been searching for a place to donate those. NY public library wont take it. With donate nyc app it was easy and fast. Nice UI and fast results. !
I was delighted to find and download this app., especially to use as a tool to locate resources in my new neighborhood. Great job with designing a userfriendly interface! This has great potential once given more of an identity, provide a sense of community and, of course, filled with more info./access to resources.
