I've tried multiple Chinese learning apps, but all of them get boring after a while except for this one! I definitely recommend it! PS: the grammar is taught using repetition and it's effective, but having an explanation to refer to if needed would make it perfect.

Great App, very factual and helps a lot . But there are some issue, if you're just taking in to learning chinese then please skip this app it will run you crazy and you may think chinese is hell. But if you already know some basics,then this is the App which will bring you to the Top. Every single word you encounter, it learns you how to write it and that's very nice, I like the speaking exercises , and the app's voice is simply AWESOME. Great App ❤️

Outstanding app! I've tried a lot of Chinese learning apps, and this is by far and away the best! It properly explains the etymology, the context learning is superb, the amount of repetition is great, the charts are great, the ads are unobtrusive. This is exactly what was in my head when I was thinking of writing my own Chinese app - how did you reach inside my mind??? Edit - those are related YouTube clips, not ads? And it all ties into the learning? Oh man, this app deserves 10 stars!

Great app, very easy to use, indepth reading and writing. But it's really only part of a language learning program. I would rate 5 stars but $10 per month is too expensive for something is more of a supplemental program than a complete language learning program. This cost is too high of a barrier to everyone I have tried to reccomend this to. It should be worth noting all the reveiws posted before Nov 2019 were from when this app was free. It now requires a subscription of $10 a month to use.

This app is AMAZING! Beautifully programmed and easy to use, it incorporates reading, writing, listening, and speaking modalities along with cultural and historical resources. It is an absolute game-changer for working on characters. I literally cried when I saw what I could write after just a few weeks of practice. I have worked on multiple languages using all sorts of resources. I can say that this app is the most helpful I have ever encountered.

Great app for learning Chinese! I especially like the writing function which gives the correct stroke order and provides historical context behind why each character looks the way it is. As a visual learner this makes it much easier to remember how a character looks compared to just reading. The app also has a progress function which really motivates me to progress a little every day.

Love the app, especially the writing section. I haven't found anything besides filling a page with the same character that teaches stroke order well and that's no fun. Also when I had problems accessing it because of my VPN, the developer contacted me within the hour to get it resolved. Very impressive and reassuring to know they're so involved in this app. I recommend this app 100% (and that includes the subscription).

It's similar to ClozeMaster but includes a lot more features and it aggregates lots of Chinese audio/video content to supplement the vocab learning, which is totally unique. The dictionary is similar and sometimes better than the Outlier dictionary on Pleco. I wish the sentence audio was better than the standard TTS. I also wish I could turn of the AI Challenger sentences because they feel lower quality, especially for beginner levels. But totally worth it!

Pros: best dictionary I've ever used. Gives character breakdown and historical context. The open source translation allows you to see standard sentence formation. The video databases with translation is great Cons: The open source translations uses complex grammar for beginners without teaching any of it. Unknown words sometimes introduced and not explained. If you get an answer wrong because of these things, it will 'downgrade' certain characters to 'new' level and have you review them.

Peter did an amazing job developing this app. It has a particular focus on reading and writing, however, a lot of importance was placed into visual and audio content which makes it by far one of the best apps for learning Chinese. Oh and I am actually able to write better too without much time spent rewriting cards for hours! Thanks for the great app!

I've used quite a few Mandarin learning apps over the years and this is by far the best. The feature I like best is that it teaches you to write every single character you come across, which most other apps don't. Still rough around the edges though, but hopefully those get sorted out as the app grows

As a learner of Chinese for several years, I find this app is one of the most useful together with Pleco dictionary. I like the pace and the way it introduces new characters with each new lessons. There is not many equivalent apps. It deserves a lot more downloads and publicity. It will help a lot of Chinese learners.

one of the best apps for training chinese, spacially for those who have a higher level. For people who are not begginers at chinese, this app provides you a reliable source of new learning material. The media feature is so helpful,you can learn new words with native speaker videos. The memorization system in my opinion is well implemented baeacause this way, you are able to understand your level of knowledge of every word.As a bad point, some sentences have wrong grammar or unfrequent structures

This app is awesome 👍 you will know and learn easily on how to write properly Chinese character and at the same time you will also learn how to properly pronounce the Chinese word. It will be also easy to understand because it's already translated in English.👍

The dictionary uses the same methodology (functional components) as the Outlier dictionary to explain 1000 characters and its free (thou the Outlier has 3000-4000 characters), i use it all the time to supplement the Outlier dictionary because it has the full evolution/etmyology forms of the character (the Outlier have 1 ancient form for semantic components only), it's really good, thanks.

This app adapted to my level very quickly and I was learning immediately. Some of the resources are from youtube channels I already watch, so it will be easy to integrate the tools of this app into my study routine. I really like the data it shows you about the characters you have learned. Great app and I look forward to using it more!

Wow! This is a very good and fun app for learning to read, write and speak Chinese language. It contains good videos and Chinese music too. It contains a level test and stats of ones progress in learning and is very user friendly and has structured class lessons. Thanks for the Chinese language lessons in this wonderful app!✌️😁✌️

I have started to enjoy reading and writing in Chinese because of this app! I have books and apps by other well known publishers. They didn't help like this. Everything here is intuitive learning should be fun and with this app, it is. It's even made things I struggled with easier to take in my stride as if I never had an issue in the first place. Amazing app!

I really didnt expect this app to be this good and I am really enjoying using it. The developer(s) did a great job so I gave it five stars. More Chinese learners should know about this app as its the best I have seen or used. It is so convenient as here you can practice both reading and writing Mandarin Chinese, as well as the app having lots of media to also train your listening. The dictionary is also of high quality. I would highly recommend this app to any Mandarin Chinese learner!

Best app I have used for Chinese...I use Mandarin Blueprint for my main course which is amazing. Writing has always been a weak point for me and this app allows me to write, read and speak all in app. It is amazing. Update Sept 2021 - this is really way more than an app! I am aproaching 800 characters and due to it making me read and write, I feel real progress...real understanding. Highly recommended!

One of the best things about this app is that it goes into the etymology of characters. Understanding etymology is key to long term retention because instead of mechanically memorizing charactars it gives meaning behind each stroke.

A great app will help you to study Chinese with a sophisticated method, try it and study well. The app will help you to understand and practice sentences and characters. Thanks a lot for the great app!

This app is amazing!!! It is so easy to use and really helps with beginners, plus their format allows you to advance from just the beginner stage, too!!

Excellent for learning characters and stroke order. Dong Chinese really gives you a sense of how much you have learned by showing you what content you can understand. I really enjoy this app more than others for learning Chinese.

This app is exactly what I'm looking for in terms of learning Chinese. It was created to ensure that you learn in context instead of rote memorization, and so learning is much less of an arduous process.

The best tool for learning chinese that I have come across. Made my way from a complete beginner to getting my way around on my own in China in 6 months. Use it 20 minutes after you wake up and untill you fall asleep in bed every day and you will learn a ton. Pick it uo during a bus ride or during lunch.

So much potential. Love how it introduces words with some etymology, shows stroke order and then contextualizes with real world example. Will definitely follow closely this app!

This App has been so great at helping me learn hanzi! The combination of writing and reading practice without too much reliance on pinyin is so great. I feel like I'm really learning the characters now.

I selected traditional Chinese and even confirmed it in the options, but the test is still in simplified. And there's no instructions whatsoever about how to actually answer the test questions
